Local Artist's Gallery
« on: August 27, 2013, 06:28:40 AM »
Does anyone know if the paining opportunity 'local artist's gallery' stacks? My sim completed the opportunity, but hasn't done a painting yet, as I'm saving it up for a portrait. Low and behold, she got the opportunity again! I was wondering if both multipliers will stack on the next painting?

It looks like the value increase is fixed but the number of paintings to be affected will increase.

I'm not entirely sure where I read this, but the value increase applies until the next painting you finish. If you have the funds for it, it may be lucrative to start a bunch of paintings , so when you finish them all you'll get the value boost.

Yes, I usually set up at least 10 easels per portrait that I need done, so I have a good chance of getting a masterpiece. Sometimes, my sim might have two portraits to do in that time, so I'll have 20 all set up and started. I remember reading about this on the challenge board a while back. I didn't notice a second boost to my painting/s with the opportunity completed twice in a row, nor an additional boost to the painting after that. I suspect that the value from the second opportunity just overrides the first.

the boost is fixed, it is the maximum available, it is then applicable to each painting done, the number of available paintings is decreased by one as each painting is finished, so it has nothing to do with when you started it and also the value of the painting is determined when it's finished.
