If you have the option of adding words during your spellcheck that would help with alternate spellings. I have it in e-mail and word processing programs. Mine comes up as an option as it checks, but you might have it and not know it because it's an option in a menu. You could write in that other program and then paste it here, though you have to be careful to use plain text when you paste it in the post. Just a thought if you're having a bad enough problem or it's just driving you crazy.

No, it shows Sim as being correct, probably because it considers it to be a proper name.  I was just trying to come up with an example of something that spell check would thing was spelled wrong, even though it was right.  :)

Another thing I want to address as a tidiness issue is posts that really aren't necessary.  For example, I saw a post recently that said only "LOL."  And one that said "It's too bad you had to start over."  It's actually in the rules that such meaningless and short posts are to be avoided.  I know it's our members trying to be polite and stuff, but it really does clutter up the Forum.  Think about if you were a new person who was looking for a specific answer to a problem and you find the right thread, only to see that half of it is just fluff.  Do you really want to read through 8 pages of stuff that's mostly fluff?  It devalues the Forum as a whole.  We're going to start being more strict about this.  So, when you post something, please make sure it's got some actual significant content for the thread in question.

Pam, would this apply if someone were posting to confirm another poster's findings? For example in the thread about the Skill Certificates someone wrote that they're worth £1000 then depreciate as low as £600, I posted to confirm that this was true; would that count as fluff posting or not? I'm only asking to clarify.
Grr Argh!

Sarah - Posts like what you're talking about are fine, as long as there aren't 3 other posts ahead of yours saying the exact same thing. :)

Thank you, Pam for mentioning this.  Lately there have been a LOT of fluff posts, I've been very tempted to just remove a bunch of junk that really has no value.

Although I speak multiple languages, in any of them I don't always recognize my grammatical incorrect typing, which is one of my personal downs in languages. I do my best, really. But I believe you moderators and admins will still find and always find here or there some things that could be, well, better.
Saying that, I highly miss the correction marks I saw sometimes underneath my posts a half year before. They where more than just handy for me.

I have said his many times Leto; your grammar as well as your vocabulary and your spelling has vastly improved since you joined. I am no member of the forum staff but it wouldn't be very nice if they would be angry with you because of a few grammar mistakes...

Agreed. It's quite clear you've made a concerted effort to improve, Leto, and you're to be commended. Pam and I were just IMing the other day on the issue of how certain forumers have seen great gains in their writing skills.

There is a difference in knowing that someone is trying to do their best and someone that just types to get it typed and doesn't care what it looks like and yes, I agree, Leto you have improved alot since you started and you should be proud of yourself for improving the way you have.

Although I speak multiple languages,

You're a polyglot? Wow! I've always wanted to speak other languages. I love words in general. That's the worst thing about playing the Sims 3. I haven't been reading. I end up going to dictionary.com for spellchecking and stay to see if I know the meanings of the words of the day.  :)

Leto and Illuminator are both Dutch, so they should logically be polyglots for you to understand what they're saying, shouldn't they? ::)

Touche! I knew that, but didn't put it together. But I'd love to know Spanish and French, primarily. Spanish would be a very useful language to know in America, politics aside. And French? Well, it just has a certain je ne sais quoi.  ;)
