Instead of cleaning the house, my maid is dirtying it!
« on: August 14, 2010, 02:19:36 AM »
OK, I have a funny problem here. I employed a maid for $125 per day. She cleans up the house and then dirties it by disposing rubbish into my house! LOL!

Has anyone experienced this? Is it because I am not close to my maid? Why is she behaving this way? How do I "punish" her? I have the moodlet manager and should I zap her?

This is quite funny! Also, I purchased a cheap lawn decoration and whenever the postman comes along, she just kicks it!!!

My maid usually leaves ice cream on the dinner table or some other quick meal food item.  I have no idea why either.

Also my mailman throws my bills on the ground, he gets mad, yells and then throws them.  I think they are just weirdos.

She might be insane. My asylum sims frequently kick over their flamingos.

The reason the mailman throws the mail on the ground, is that the mailbox is full and your sim needs to pay the bills.  I think it is funny too, he stomps his foot and slams the bills on the ground.  That is my reminder I guess I need to pay the bills, lol. :)

I had a maid that brushed his teeth in the kitchen sink nearly daily...very strange.

Hey Blanchflower!

Some of the service NPCs are just really, really bad at their jobs. If I recall, I've even read a tip while the town load screen is running saying something like "Keep a close eye on Sims you hire over the phone, they might not always do a good job!" (or something like that).

I recall a while back I hired a baby sitter that only watched TV, I can't recall her ever paying attention to the two toddlers she was supposed to be watching. My Sim would return from work with two toddlers in "hygiene crisis" (that's a great way of saying with a diaper full of "poo," huh?) and hungry as all get-out.

Once I hired a "Repairman" who proceeded to electrocute himself twice fixing a TV, as well!

I think maybe one out of four service NPCs are created by the game are just cruddy at what they do. There's an option to "fire" them, I think that's the only way to "punish" them.

@ Saltypaws, I had a mailman once who tossed ALL mail on the ground. He'd show up in the mid-morning, curse and stomp at the house, toss the mail on the ground in a huff, and kick over the trashcan. It was funny the first few times he did it (he always had that "Don't Like Sim" icon in his thought bubble), but then it got to be a bit annoying. I tried socializing and becoming friends with him, but even that didn't make a difference.

My Sim "fired / dismissed" him the next, and he moaned and wailed and hugged my Sim crying. I thought the game'd regenerated a new mail carrier; but the next morning there he was ... he just never threw the mail on the ground again in a huff nor kicked the trashcan.

I've had this before too, there's a social you can do called 'stop doing that' but it didn't seem to work for me - the NPCs kept repeating the same unwanted actions the next day.  I just fire them.  You'll take a relationship hit but it's better than having piles of trash and books left all over your house.

Oh, is that why? I just thought they were mad because my Sims never come out and chat with them.  ;D

I fired a babysitter, but she still got paid.  :'( Yeah, I had a punkish looking babysitter who did better than I expected, but the first babysitter I ever hired was horrid. I hired her when I had the stay at home sim leave for errands, and he did a horrible job in watching the baby. I've never had a bad maid, but I did have a funky looking one with the wickedest sideburns. He became a good friend of that family.
