Completely at Ease moodlet
« on: August 14, 2010, 12:31:54 AM »
I just sent all four of my Wishmasters sims to the spa for the §7500 package. They all now have the Completely at Ease moodlet. This is great because they all have +75 for a week but this moodlet also seems to have other benefits.

My Hates the Outdoors sim had a wish to go outside and bounce on the trampoline, so I sent her outside and left her there for a while. I expected her mood to drop but she didn't have her usual Plagued by Nature moodlet. Then I noticed that another sim fishing in the graveyard at night didn't have the Creepy Graveyard moodlet. Is it possible that being completely relaxed might prevent sims from being bothered by anything?

I tried to test this theory by having a Technophobe use the computer and he didn't get the usual negative moodlet associated with that. I wonder if Completely at Ease can override any other negative moodlets. Can Loners go out in large crowds? Can Hydrophobic sims go swimming? Can Cowards go out in the dark? I can't test any of these now because I can't change traits during this challenge, but I'll have to do some more testing when the challenge is over.

Thank you for posting this.  I'm very interested in hearing the results of your further tests.

This is a pretty significant find, I just tweaked a Sim's traits and gave them the spa treatment with the +75 'Completely at Ease' moodlet.
Here were my results (all with no negative moodlet):

Can't Stand Art - visited museum
Hydrophobic - swam at public pool
Coward - went outside at night
Loner - studied in a crowded library
Technophobe - used computer in library

Then I used testingcheatsenabled true to keep his hunger and energy high and put him on a 20hr long writing marathon to see if he'd get stressed.  His fun dropped to %50 and not a bit further, no negative moodlet.

Yeah, your theory makes sense, TheCub. I remember once after sending my sim to get the $7500 package, I sent her to the graveyard and had her explore the catacombs, then played with the rest of my family, completely forgetting about her. Turns out she managed to stay in there almost a whole sim day without getting the "horrified" moodlet they usually get after a couple of hours. It was super neat :)

Fantastic find, TheCub. And well done, TommyT, for the additional info. Are you challenge players taking notes on this for the Tournament Finale, Maximum Moodlets II?  ;)

As I recall, Metro, Maximum Moodlets was the only challenge I ever beat you.  Not that I plan to keep bringing it up to torment you or anything.  Just sayin'.  ;D

I had never even thought about the spa treatments before! This can actually prove to be very useful. Thanks!

Thanks for sharing this, TheCub!

I've some eco-friendly Sims I can test this on, just too see if the "Completely at Ease" moodlette overcomes or overrides the negative moodlettes they are so sensitive to.

Wowsa!  :) Thanks so much for bringing this to our / my attention TheCub!

My Eco-friendly Sim went to the spa, purchased the §1000 "Great Escape" package (it's all he could afford), and nothing seemed to bother him. He was, indeed, "Completely at Ease."

He rode in a car without worrying about wasting resources. He cooked some food, and tossed it in the trashcan. He used the cheap washing machine, and it didn't bother him it was wasting water.

I've another Sim whose spouse soon is to have an appointment with Grim. I'm interested in seeing how a "Trip to the Dayspa" affects her mood when he shuffles off the mortal coil.

Lol!

EDIT: Um I'm going to get in trouble for my small post so I'd better add something :D It was just so hilarious reading Swede's post, one of those rare times when I literally laughed hysterically in front of the monitor for a few minutes..."Lol" was all I could get out.

Nothing bothers you when you in a mud wrap with cucumber slices on your eyes!  Oh human vanity lol.  In further testing this would not eliminate negative the moodlets when the Sims get super tired, hungry or have to pee (tested that one to the bitter end :D )
