Building Contest 2013: 17 - A Birthday Special
« on: August 20, 2013, 11:08:05 AM »

Building Contests 2013: 17 - A Birthday Special

What is a Special Contest?:
A Special Contest is different to regular contests because there is a prize, there has only been one other Special Contest so far, the winner/s will gain SimPoint prizes. This contest is sponsored by Ladybug53 who has generously donated the SimPoints! The Contest Task will be created by the Building Contest Team. The task will not be revealed until the night before the Contest is due to begin. This is being posted early to allow any questions to be asked should there be any. This Contest will be designed to celebrate the forum's fourth birthday!

How will the winner be decided?:
Ladybug53 has decided that the winner will be determined as in the regular contests - with a poll. The community will vote for entry that best matches the specifications and deserves the prize.

The Prize:
Ladybug53 is very generously offering a substantial prize for the winner and also a smaller prize for the runners up - adding to a grand total of 4000 SimPoints. First Prize will be a sum of 2000 SimPoints, then the two runners up will both receive 1000. In the event of a tie the prize will be distributed differently and fairly depending on the results. In the event of a tie for first place the prize will be split between both and there will be no runner up prizes.

The prize will be in the form of Gifted Items or Sets from the recipients wishlist due to a restriction on gifting SimPoints to people in different countries. The winner and runners up will have to discuss with Ladybug53.

What is the task?:
The task will appear in the second post on the 24th of August. It will be in the same format as previous Contests.

Where to ask questions?:
Depending on the question you may wish to ask in this thread where we will do our best to answer. If you feel you would rather keep it private as you don't want anyone else using your idea then do PM samoht04, Lilygirl and Ausette. It is best we all receive the PM so that a response can be made quickly.

Contest Start Date: Sunday, 25 August - 12:00am
Contest End Date: Saturday, 21 September- 11:59pm

For instructions on how to enter the Contests follow this link.

Only post in this thread if you are posting an entry or you are asking a question, we would prefer however if questions were PMed to us. If you have any questions please PM the Contest Team: samoht04, Lilygirl and Ausette. Ensure all receive your question to ensure it gets answered as quickly as possible.

I've just been informed that there are no birthday cakes on community lots, the requirement has now been changed to "Birthday Cake Table", interpret that as just a place where a birthday cake would be on your lot. Definitely feel free to bring a birthday cake in live mode whilst taking photos. However the cake should not be included in the File.

Party in the Park  - Community Lot, Big Park

Lot Size: 60 x 60

Furnished: $44,995

Content Used: Sims 3, Ambitions, Supernatural, Pets, Generations, Seasons, University Life, Island Paradise, World Adventures, Late Night, Showtime, High End Loft Stuff, Master Suite Stuff, Outdoor Living Stuff, Fast Lane Stuff, 70s, 80s, & 90s Stuff

Free Store Content: Happy New Year '11
Content used from that pack - New Year's Balloons

Description: Carl and Pam were looking for a fun and special way to celebrate our forum's 4th birthday.  Everyone from the forum's very own Union Cove was invited, so this was going to be a gigantic undertaking.  They scoured the sim-ternet and finally tasked Arefa Studios to build the perfect party venue!

And . . . VOILA!  Behold, the Party Park!  Built in the forum's very own Union Cove on Mod Dynasty Drive.

Overview:

In the center of the park, a roman numeral four shaped pool commemorates the forum's 4th birthday with four corners of fun surrounding it!

Bottom Right Corner - Picnic Area with Grills, Bathrooms, Bonfire, and Cake Stage

Bottom Left Corner - Playground for both Children and Pets

Top Left Corner - Games Gazebo and Photo Booth

Top Right Corner - Karaoke Corner with Mixology Bar and Dance Floor

Picnic Area:  Carl, being a great host - of course - starts everyone's day off with a round of hot dogs as the guests are beginning to arrive.  What a wonderful day for an outdoor party in the park.  Let's get this party started!

Pet Playground:  Arefa Studios could not leave the pets out of today's festivities.  We all love our cats and dogs too much!  So, they have their very own area to enjoy this special day at the pet playground.  Here, the pets have their own Cat Jungle Gym, chew toys, and fire hydrant.  Plus, if they get a little too tired from all the excitement of the day, they can wander over and take a quick "cat" nap in one of the beds!

Child's Playground:  All the children of Union Cove have their very own area to come and play together.  There is a Child's Jungle Gym, Slide, Sandbox, and Swings.  What fun!

Games Gazebo:  Under the roof of this Gazebo, is a gaming area like no other.  Here you will find games meant to thrill yourself and for you to challenge your friends.  Everyone can enjoy a little friendly competition and win a prize or two.

Pool: The sun is beginning to set, but that is not going to stop this celebration!  Granite from the rocky mountain tops is used for the decking of this pool.  Lounge chairs, umbrellas, and lush landscaping surround this pool area.  Make a big splash and relax with friends.

Mixology Bar:  After a dip in the nice cool pool, Pam wanted to kick this party up a notch with a round of drinks at the mixology bar.  It gave everyone a nice break to gather and share a few stories with some laughs.  Orange bubbles float up the columns and give off a subtle glow, which holds up a pink flowery trellis roof.  An elegant area fit for all of our "star" members.

Karaoke Corner and Dance Floor: Party time on the dance floor, Woo!  Right this way, to bust out some smooth moves.  Pam and Bubblegum Dreamweaver serenade everyone as we all dance the night away!

Cake Time:  Carl and Pam call everyone over to cheer, sing, and celebrate.  It's time for cake!

Happy Birthday to us,
Happy Birthday to us,
Happy Birthday dear forum,
Happy Birthday to us!

Happy Fourth Anniversary Everyone!

Carl and Pam at the Fire pit:  Under the starts of Union Cove, long after everyone else has retired to their homes, Carl and Pam linger behind to reminisce around the fire.  (With their cats around them too.)  They chatted about the fun filled day at their party in the park, about the four wonderful years which have passed and they contemplate what to do next year.  The two even dream about many ideas for the future!

Happy Birthday Everyone!  Looking forward to many more years to come! :)

Seeing as how this is a Special Contest we want to make sure everyone has enough time to enter, therefore we will be extending the deadline by another two weeks. The next Contest will run as normal so there will be an overlap.

The new Deadline is: Saturday, September 21.

Size: 35 x 35
Price:23,500

The best parties are held outdoors for for celebrating our forum's birthday. The party starts off when we blow out the birthday candles and have a slice of delicious chocolate cake.

Then we decide to boogie woogie on the dance floor, grandpa decides to try out some new moves.

All that dancing made us thirsty and we decide to get a drink...........or several... and no party is complete without a dip in the pool!!!!!

Grandma decides to prove that it's not how old you are it's how young you feel!!!! And she shows us "the twisting tornado" on the slide!!

Name: UC Compilation Park
Lot Type: Big Park
Lot Size: 60 x 60
Price Furnished: $44,109
EP and SPs: World Adventures, Ambitions, Late Night, Pets, Showtime, Seasons, Supernatural, University Life, Island Paradise

UC Compilation Park is situated at the Mod Hill Dynasty Lot and showcases four Union Cove places to hang out with friends and brings it all to one big lot for one big party. In the corner closest to the city square, a small area has been dug out and it is the beach area of the lot. In the corner furthest from the road, is the central park sector complete with stage mimicking that at the real park! The corner closest to the house next door showcases the dog park or Snifton Park. The final corner represents the art gallery from the city square but the big knockout in this park is the word written in the ground in the centre. This lot is perfect to use to celebrate the forum’s birthday and have a good time!

Welcome to Forum Falls!

Forum Falls is a renovated Stoney Falls, a Sunset Valley fishing spot that is well known by a lot of players as it is quite often bought as a Immortal Dynasty Founder's property.

Before I start to explain my entry, I just have to tell you that I had no plan for it and it is probably the most organized and random property I have ever made. I just threw every idea I had at it. There had been numerous other plans for it, none of which had worked out so I just stuck to the basics.

The Artificial Beach:

The Pet Zone:

The Bee Hive Playground:

The Dance Floor:

The Eating Area:

The Magnificent Fountain:

The Parking Lot:
