Lifeguard Career issues

hello I'm having a big issue with my sim having the life guard career. when my sim is on the clock nothing pops up about her job and she doesn't change into her career clothes. I've tried manually putting her on a beach but no options tells her to survey the beach and all she can do is sit on the lifeguard chair ( oddly enough she's still able to tell a rescue story and Boast about being a life guard to other sims) help will be greatly appreciated

Is the sim cheked in a resort? When they check in they automatically get a break from work.

No my sim is not checked into a resort

I had a similar problem. It could be that your Sim is at the wrong beach. There are two beaches across from each other, and my Sim became a lifeguard at one, only to work at the other.

It never told me what beach my sim worked at .

Have you gone into map view once she's on the clock? It shows which beach to survey (large red and yellow marker). What's annoying is it doesn't show up until 10am (the jobs start time), so you tend to miss some of the day. I tried to guess which beach before time.

My sim did change into their lifeguard clothes beforehand though.

The daily beach survey is totally random. I never guess what beach it will be because is random. So your sim must be prepared, with its lifeguard clothes on and wait to see the beach pop-up message. I managed to reach level 10 with great efforts, it's very difficult to advance in this career.

yes i've looked at the map view once she was on the clock but i don't see the red or yellow marker ( she doesn't change into her lifeguard clothes)

Hmm... Ok. Couple of suggestions, next time it is on the day of the job:

1) have a shower just after 9am, might trigger the change in clothes.
2) at 10am (or when the job starts) go into map view and just double check whether the marker is there or not. If not:
3) go into the job tab, there is a briefcase button towards the bottom. It usually flashes slightly if there is available work to do (not 100% sure on this as I didn't need to use it). Might show what beach perhaps?
4) if the above do not work, try resetting the sim.
5) if reset doesn't help, try moving the sim out and then back into the house.
6) if none of the above works, maybe trying quitting the job and then re-registering for the job.

If none of the above helps.... I'm a little stumped! Let me know what happens

They can still rescue even if they do not change into work clothes or can't survey beach. I had a sim in a lifeguard career who lost his ability to do survey beach interactions and did not change into his work clothes as well. All I could do was to get him to beach and tell him to help when someone was drowning. The beach he was supposed to be at did show up at the neighborhood view though. Not sure how it goes if the beach doesn't even show up. Maybe quitting job and re-registering helps, as someone already suggested.

Have you tested the job on another sim to see if it's a glitch with the sim or the job itself?

Yes, I switched to a different household and sadly I'm still getting the same results

Have you tried starting a new game? Maybe it's just an error in the current game file?

This sounds like another mod conflict.

I think traits like Sailor, Loves the Water etc also failed to appear.

A lot of my mods stopped working with IP.
