What a precious Egyptian souvenir! Welcome, Isis!  She may be only freshly hatched, but something intuitive tells me Isis may fast become my favorite of Mina's babies. It could be the whole Egyptian mythology reference or just that she looks like a teeny, vibrant pea.

She is such a lovely color!  I'm hoping to give her a distinctly Egyptian style as she ages.

Your names are so perfect! Congrats on the Nooboo, Tilia! I enjoy Mina's adventures, and Egypt is such a fun place. Don't worry about him having the same astrological sign. You have a lot more men to find than there are zodiac symbols!

This is true!  I'm wondering which ones will be hardest to find.

Makeovers - Pt. 1
« Reply #16 on: August 22, 2013, 12:37:59 PM »
I got a pop up the other day saying that Leif Helgason was getting pretty old.  You might remember him as the blonde consignment clerk in my first post.  I've always found him attractive.  So, I invited him over for a life-restoring makeover.

Leif and I are kindred spirits.  He is the father to three girls, all by different mothers, and raised them all himself.  As you can imagine, we had much to talk about.

And he was just as enthusiastic about being the next father of my children as I was about having him.

So, before you could sneeze, I was pregnant again.

It was my first pregnancy with a brand new nooboo in the house, though baby Isis seemed unaware of her mommy's growing belly.

It was the last days before my first child would move out.  We migrated to the same rooms, feeling the burden of that approaching event.

Dana, in particular, tried to make the most of her last days in the family home.

We had another kitchen fire.  It was this event that made Fox change the spell on the oven from improved meal quality to fireproof.

And had Dana preparing Remus for safe cooking practices when he hit teen.

In the chaos of the fire, Isis aged up quite alone in my bedroom upstairs.  She has her daddy's eyes.

She wasn't the only one having a birthday that weekend, though.  Dana and Remus were hit with sparkles within hours of each other.

Remus has quite his own look not really distinctly of me or his father.  He's a handsome boy who has developed the party animal trait.

Because Dana is now moving out, I will show you her entire wardrobe for her impending adulthood.  She is still a pirate wench at heart.

Every day:

Formal:

Sleepwear:

Activewear:

Swimwear:

And Outerwear:

Dana's departure was a difficult one for us all.  She insisted she'd visit often and soon.  Fox didn't stay inside to say goodbye.  I think it was too hard for her.

Remus, the man of the house, did his best to comfort me.

I also took some comfort in my slowly growing baby bump.  It wouldn't be long until we had a new Yakshi in the house.

Until then, there was plenty to keep us all occupied.

It made me glad for the photographs.  Fox would be gone soon too, off to join her sister in the new little starter house.

And one day, Isis and Remus too, would be grown.  These things are truly bittersweet.

Makeovers - Pt 2.

So, against the normal convention of the fathers I've chosen, Leif has stuck around the house quite a lot.  I can't say I don't enjoy his company.

In fact, I've begun to worry that by carrying his child, I've missed my opportunity to marry the perfect man for me.  Another hopeless romantic who loves children ...

But, there's no use looking backwards.  What's done is done and even Leif seems supportive of my future with the challenge.  He even bought me a special gift to help me meet new people.

I haven't named her yet, but I'm sure something will come to me.

Isis loves the teddy bear her daddy picked out for her the day I met him.  She snuggles with it as often as possible.

That trip to Egypt was an inspired one.  And it looks like we might have an Egyptian house guest in the near future if my son has any say in the matter.

Isis has mastered her skills, but I'm not going to age her up early.  I think we're finally comfortable enough to enjoy the toddler stage to its fullest.

Speaking of skills, River is close to mastering all of the tricks in her arsenal too.

Fox has been a great help.  I know she misses her sister, but she has put the energy forward as positively as possible.

I can't believe soon she will be gone too.

I went into labor late in the night.

It was a quick one, and I gave birth to a gorgeous little girl.  I've named her Juliet.

It woke up the children, of course.  It was mere moments after Juliet was born and tucked into her crib that the sparkles came for my Fox.

Her wardrobe is properly princess-like:

To be honest, it was not any easier the second time around.  Off another baby goes into the world with my love and blessings.  The Watcher has assured me that a special story progression mod will help me keep track of my children as they make their way through life, love, career, and whatever else may come.

It's a small consolation, I suppose.

I love the pictures of Fox and Dana in the background of the last picture, as Mina hugs her baby goodbye. It's bittersweet.

I know!  It was a happy accident.  I'm sure going to miss them.

-------

I knew before Fox and Dana were born that plan as I might, the unexpected will still occur.  I tell my children this often, but the world will still show them for certain.  That's what happened when Meret came to visit from Egypt and was a young adult, too old to join Remus for prom.

We do wonder if she aged up out of necessity to travel alone.  All the same, she ceased to be an option for our Remus.  He handled it well, taking to his other favorite girl in spades.

Isis for her part seems keenly observant of the goings on in the house.  I predict she will grow up to be a very smart cookie.

Our Juliet is a very quiet baby, which is a welcome change after so many years of spotty sleep.

Not that I'd change any of my children for all the sleep in the world.

When prom night rolled around, Remus took off alone.  He had a decently nice evening, winning the crown and dancing with a girl named Juanita.  Though he did get into a fight.

While he was gone, his sisters had their shared birthday.

Sparkles are so bittersweet.

Isis begged me for a chemistry set, which I obliged to.  We have a lot more money coming in now since I opened a small resort on the southern-most point of the city.

My Juliet is the spitting image of her handsome father.  The Watcher took a special interest in Juliet and decided to post three images of her wardrobe instead of just one.

She is such a beauty!  Those ice blue eyes especially are just captivating.  And you should hear her sweet little laugh.

Remus got home and told me about his night.  I was secretly pleased that he came out victorious in his prom spar with the quarterback, though I couldn't verbally condone violence.

With one sister asleep and the other tinkering away upstairs, I sneaked away in the night to ensure I wouldn't age up to an adult the next day.  This is my first tattoo.

It is a shame that tattoos were never an option for River.  Instead, she apparently took matters into her own paws.

And just in time too.  I suppose I should've seen this coming, but I never could have.  Never could.

Oh, my River.  You were only 200 points away from a young again potion.  I can't help but blame myself for not helping you reach the goal.

Grim greeted my sympathetically and told me what River had done.  A little puppy clone of my River.  A baby River.

It's not the same, though, is it?  I attempted to be gracious.

And outside, faintly, I could hear the yapping and splashing of River's last gift to me.

We dealt with our grief in our own ways.  I taught Grim the song I learned in Egypt out of the hysterical curiosity of what his singing voice would sound like.  It sounded like silence.

And then I went outside to get the puppy.  The nameless little River clone.  She is cute, I suppose.

I named her Dune.  She is growing on me.  But I miss River.

I took some comfort in ambushing our maid, Trenton.

He did not seem opposed to the idea.

And very soon I was expecting another nooboo.

By that point, I was already helplessly in love with little Dune.  She seemed a bit insistent that something was going on inside.

So I went to investigate, and got the best possible pregnancy congratulations.  I promised I'd find a way to bring her back to me.

Winter rolled around and the snowfall started.  We stayed cozy in our little house with Fox's magically fireproof fire burning strong.

Remus has taken quite a liking to the girl he met at prom.

From what I understand, he recently made it official.

So perhaps Meret was just a childhood fancy.  It is probably best that way.

I grew heavier by the day, but Remus was a great help in keeping the house in working order.

He kept Juliet happy, helped Isis with her homework, filled the dog bowl ... whatever I needed.

Though I'd never expect him to be able to *totally* manage Isis.  She is a strong willed little girl.

There's something about family life that just makes me feel so very content.

Isis, for her part, is thrilled about the new baby.  She and I have been brainstorming names.

Trenton, however, and this is strange ... he came to work midway into my pregnancy and went off on me about cheating.  I haven't been with anyone since him, so he must mean the fathers of my elder children.  Surely he was aware of the family he cleaned for!  He just went on and on about honesty.

Well, he's over it now and still doing the job.  I suppose that's one relationship I won't need to worry about swiping when I max out my social networking.  Dune did her very best to growl and defend me.  Juliet just used her piercing gaze.

Juliet's winter clothes are so adorable that just had to take her out in the snow once before she aged up to child.

We played on the spring rider I've bought for the backyard (which now has a tree house, a seesaw, and a sandbox too!)

I also took a charming picture of Isis that I then lost in a crash.  But here it is, for posterity.

Perhaps it was my labor that caused the crash.  Which is fine, I'm happy to go through it again.  Nooboos are worth it.

I kept thinking about Trenton's rant about honesty.  I wondered if his baby would be just as concerned with the truth.  And when a little purple boy sparkled into my arms, I named him Abe.

So far it's been every other birth resulting in a rainboo.  Even though she's not, Juliet is the one I find the most stunning so far!

Starlight and Meteorites
« Reply #23 on: August 28, 2013, 12:11:00 AM »
We had a very strange couple of days after Abe's birth.  First, I was struck with a curse while selling the last of River's gemstones at the alchemy store.  I was stuck as a sad clown until I found a cure elixir.

All the same, I was in the process of getting things back to normal.  I got an even better picture of Isis to add to the wall.

And the kids seemed happy and well.

In fact, Juliet seemed well on her way to making her imaginary friend, Paris a little less imaginary.

The town, however, had begun to feel wrong.  Crashes were more common all the time and I felt the pull of somewhere else.  Perhaps I resisted it for too long.

But, fate catches up with you, one way or another.  It came for us on the night Remus and Isis aged up.

Isis saw the shadow first.  We scrambled to get the children out but weren't fast enough.  Mercifully, the largest hunks of the meteorite hit the yard and the kitchen, which was vacant.

The house was a blazing inferno.  Neighbors were rushing over to help stomp out the flames.

And pretty much as soon as they did, the children aged up with no pomp or warning at all.

With very strange attendees besides.

I had made the decision that we had to move.  Remus, given the choice, decided to stay in Aurora Skies with Fox and Dana.  I made him swear to write.

Isis saw to her own makeover before the moving truck came.  She is a stunning girl.

She has already chosen her lifetime wish to become a tinkerer.  Mastering logic and handiness.

So it was that the next morning we departed for Starlight Shores.  It was the town that was calling to me.  We bought an unfurnished but very futuristic house on the edges of the town center.

I summoned a genie to replenish our finances.  He is a bit pudgy, but he will do as a future father.

And it seems I'll have no shortage of admirers here.  Within an hour of arriving, three showed up to welcome me to town.

We all settled in nicely.

And I thought about what the future would hold in this new place.

My Juliet aged up quietly shortly after we moved.  She got the adventurous trait and is still stunning with her icy blue gaze.

As predicted, Paris came to life as soon as she aged up, though none of us can see him at this juncture.

The girls started school in Starlight Shores.  Neither have made any particular friends yet, but seem to have no complaints about the change to summer weather.

For my part, I've designated the first Starlight Shores man I intend to make the next father of my children.  This is Wylie Luck.  He has red eyes.

He is inappropriate, so he stayed overlong at the house after my purple dragon (whom I've named Mulder, after my Purple daughter, Fox) summoned him.  He's also ... um.  Quite childish.

I suppose there's really no better house for him to spend time in!  By the evening he had gone and Dune had her adult birthday while Abe had his toddler one.

I have decided to get a mate for Dune as I never was able to do for River, who now rests in our garden area.  As soon as I am pregnant again.

Meanwhile, there are lots of skills ahead for my little Abe with his beautiful, emerald green eyes, which appear to be a darker version of my own.

Thanks!  Nooboos are my favorite part of the Sims, so I'm having a blast with this one while I truck along in requirements on my Life States Dynasty!

----

Abe is one smart cookie.  All of my children have excelled at their toddler skills, but Abe is the fastest I've had yet.

We're all settling in well in our new home.  Dune, having aged up to an adult, seems to be more than just a physical likeness of River.  She has inherited her hunting skill, several tricks, and a fear that I'm going to set the house on fire.

I can't really blame her.

Isis has decided to choose the Tinkerer as her LTW.  She has set to work at the chemistry station and with the appliances in the house to get there before she has to move out.  She's hoping to leave us a motive mobile.

Juliet has enrolled in ballet classes and loves to show off for Paris, whom none of us can see at this point.

I've asked her if she thinks she will marry Paris and she launches into, "Ewww!  Mom, NO." pretty much every time.

She's also very protective of little Abe.  She spends any time left after her antics with Paris playing with her little brother.

Wylie has been difficult to lock down recently as he's been performing in the last warm days of summer.  He's an acrobat.  So, to fill the space, I freed our genie and had him provide me with a new child.

While I waited for my bump, I continued to brush up on social media.  The relationship transmogrifier will be very handy once I qualify for it.

The pregnancy took quickly and the baby feels similar to how the twins did.  She or he will probably be magical.

The pregnancy progressed very well.  We opened up a new resort for income near the shore as fall brought a distinct chill into the air.

The baby was born healthy a few nights before Spooky Day.  Her name is Scheherazade, but we call her Zadie for short.  She's a genie like her daddy.

While I was in labor, Juliet aged up to teen.  She remains beautiful.

She has become athletic, which suits her brave and adventurous traits very well.

Paris remains a supportive ally.

Not wanting to alienate Wylie, I called him over almost immediately once I'd recovered to conceive another child.

Abe aged up into a gorgeous child.

His sisters keep a watchful eye on him.  He has become a bookworm.

They all coo over baby Zadie.  She is a sweet little doll.

And the kids all have great relationships with Dune as well.  Isis is the last of my children who knew River.

Juliet has decided to try her hand at becoming a Renaissance Sim before she moves out.  I feel like this is a slight jab at her sister, who is mastering only two skills for her LTW.

And during it all, our little Zadie aged up into a sweet toddler with surprise blonde hair and my eyes.  With my pregnancy confirmed, I may have two toddlers in the house for the first time since the twins very soon!

All of your kids have been incredibly good-looking so far, but I adore Juliet. I adore the little purple skulls on her dress.

Good luck in Starlight Shores. It certainly has some interesting genes to offer. :)

Juliet is such a knockout.  She'll be the first kid I'm saving to my Simbin.  I should maybe go grab Remus too, but I have gotten very lucky so far!

----

Tuesday night was the last night of Isis's childhood.  We spent it in silent acknowledgement that she'd be gone very soon.

Juliet, put out that I'd still be pregnant with Wylie's child when Isis moved out, realized that it threw a wrench in my promise to take her to France while she was a teen.  She proposed to me a possible solution.

And spent a lot of time buttering me up by taking care of her sister.

For her part, Zadie is a sweet little flower.  She giggles and squeals while we teach her those toddler skills.

We'd planned to do a cake for Isis that night, but a repairman decided to electrocute himself in our house.

He died.

So Isis aged up in her pajamas, up in the loft.  Only Abe made it upstairs in time to cheer her on.

Her face thinned out a bit with the aging and her build doesn't resemble mine, so likely is inherited from her father's side.

She asked me a favor in her final twelve hours as a member of the household.

Using my simfinder, I sought out a young adult male who was a genius and a great kisser.  I then modified their relationship to make them good friends.  This is Esteban.

We got quite lucky with how handsome he is, dont' you think?  Isis made her move as quickly as she could, with a quick toss of a friendship potion and some convincing dialogue.

She popped the question in record time.

And now I have a son-in-law.

I stayed in my room, listening to Zadie's tinkling music while another baby went out into the world.

It was shortly after that Wendy was born.  A purple angel with a natural talent for music.

And Juliet, who has been very anxious to take part in our agreement ever since she popped an attraction for Paris (while he was still a doll, mind), did what she'd been waiting to do.

I am rather put out that I missed the fireworks.  I'll have to be there next time.  Isis left us three potions for converting Imaginary Friends.

He is a very handsome boy!  And he assured me the babies would be in good hands with him.

Abe, Juliet, and I flew to France

Abe started his first novel.  Juliet cooked and went on adventures.

And I met a nice man named Remy Gicquel.

I have no idea!  She looks like an entirely different sim.
