We had a very strange couple of days after Abe's birth. First, I was struck with a curse while selling the last of River's gemstones at the alchemy store. I was stuck as a sad clown until I found a cure elixir.
All the same, I was in the process of getting things back to normal. I got an even better picture of Isis to add to the wall.
And the kids seemed happy and well.
In fact, Juliet seemed well on her way to making her imaginary friend, Paris a little less imaginary.
The town, however, had begun to feel wrong. Crashes were more common all the time and I felt the pull of somewhere else. Perhaps I resisted it for too long.
But, fate catches up with you, one way or another. It came for us on the night Remus and Isis aged up.
Isis saw the shadow first. We scrambled to get the children out but weren't fast enough. Mercifully, the largest hunks of the meteorite hit the yard and the kitchen, which was vacant.
The house was a blazing inferno. Neighbors were rushing over to help stomp out the flames.
And pretty much as soon as they did, the children aged up with no pomp or warning at all.
With very strange attendees besides.
I had made the decision that we had to move. Remus, given the choice, decided to stay in Aurora Skies with Fox and Dana. I made him swear to write.
Isis saw to her own makeover before the moving truck came. She is a stunning girl.
She has already chosen her lifetime wish to become a tinkerer. Mastering logic and handiness.
So it was that the next morning we departed for Starlight Shores. It was the town that was calling to me. We bought an unfurnished but very futuristic house on the edges of the town center.
I summoned a genie to replenish our finances. He is a bit pudgy, but he will do as a future father.
And it seems I'll have no shortage of admirers here. Within an hour of arriving, three showed up to welcome me to town.
We all settled in nicely.
And I thought about what the future would hold in this new place.
My Juliet aged up quietly shortly after we moved. She got the adventurous trait and is still stunning with her icy blue gaze.
As predicted, Paris came to life as soon as she aged up, though none of us can see him at this juncture.
The girls started school in Starlight Shores. Neither have made any particular friends yet, but seem to have no complaints about the change to summer weather.
For my part, I've designated the first Starlight Shores man I intend to make the next father of my children. This is Wylie Luck. He has red eyes.
He is inappropriate, so he stayed overlong at the house after my purple dragon (whom I've named Mulder, after my Purple daughter, Fox) summoned him. He's also ... um. Quite childish.
I suppose there's really no better house for him to spend time in! By the evening he had gone and Dune had her adult birthday while Abe had his toddler one.
I have decided to get a mate for Dune as I never was able to do for River, who now rests in our garden area. As soon as I am pregnant again.
Meanwhile, there are lots of skills ahead for my little Abe with his beautiful, emerald green eyes, which appear to be a darker version of my own.
