Best store content for game play?
« on: August 15, 2013, 12:13:50 AM »
I hope this hasn't been asked before. If it has, can anyone please direct me to the thread? I've done a bit of searching and haven't found anything.

In your opinion, what are the best store items to purchase in terms of game play?

I'm having some difficulty picking out what to buy with so many goodies to choose from. ;D

If it helps, I usually like to play legacy style without any cheating or mods in my game. My CC downloads are limited to patterns only. I am interested in trying out one of the dynasty challenges at some point.

Right now, I am looking at the MultiTab, Aurora Skies (for the toddler items) and the greenhouse for sure. Anything else that's a "must have"?

Thanks!

All 3 of those are excellent choices - I love the multitab, I'm very excited to play with the greenhouse once I get back to really playing again, and the toddler items look very, very useful.

If you're into toddlers, the baby swing can be a real lifesaver - it's a little cheaty, but it's a great way to do all the fun things with toddlers without having to do so much of what I find to be the monotonous stuff like feeding and changing diapers. On a related note, I've heard good things about the baby sink (or something like that) that allow sims to give infants and toddlers baths along with nifty moodlets. I can definitely vouch for the swing though, that thing is wonderful.

Oops! I guess I should have mentioned I already have the swing, the automatic pet feeder and the super toilet.

The swing is great! I agree that it feels a bit cheaty at times, but it's been a lifesaver in some cases for sure.

Perhaps you're thinking of the nursery set that comes with the changing table and the baby monitor? I was thinking about that set, but wasn't sure how useful it would be in action. If anyone has it and has some input, that would be helpful.

Thank you!  :)

ill choose the Greenhouse first .( the swift grow station + the sunflowers which will work like an  outstanding fertilizer+ instant grow )

i like baby dragons also .all motives are full . and you can harvest plants by the green one . and you get the death flower +gems by the black one . instant friendship by the purple one + you can learn skills by using them

Multitab is super .you can listen to tabcast while sleeping on the  rocking chair or watching tv . but be careful if you are playing a legacy ,cause sims tend to use it and learn other skills .

Al frisco market is good also . you can purchase all grapes and fruits from travel destinations + life fruit + flame fruit +2 new plants

Aurora skies items are nice . tolders will learn to walk .talk and learn skills .the same as multitab be careful if you are playing a legacy.

Thanks! I hadn't really given much thought to the dragons, but they seem interesting/fun. Maybe next time!  :D

I'm impatient (dang NZ time zone - lots of people are probably asleep!) and ended up going with:
- MultiTab
- Aurora Skies
- Stones Throw Greenhouse
- Al Fresco Street Market (I'd been undecided, but joker's input helped - thanks)
- Fabulous Fiesta
- Country Livin'
- the Super Sleeper
- and 3 hairdos... couldn't pass up the Cinna-Sweet Hair Rolls for toddlers - too precious

Saving the last 800 points... for now. I was tempted to get the Teppanyaki grill for fun, but not sure.

Ahh! Too many choices.  :o

I would still love to hear other peoples' inputs as to how they like the items and how they've worked in their games for them.

Yeah, that's the one! It sounds like you made some better choices though - I've been eyeing the Al Fresco Street Market for awhile myself.

I haven't used the super sleeper much, but it's useful - I'd probably use it more if it were cheaper in-game. The automatic feeder gets usage too. I can't remember if I have the toilet or not.

Wedding stuff is in the realm of my favorites. I can't get married in real life, so I live vicariously through my sims and always give them huge lavish weddings.  :P

The dresses can be recolored in so many nice ways, the veils are pretty, and the formal outfits for toddlers make me squee.  ;D

I was very tempted by the wedding sets! Gorgeous stuff. But unfortunately my poor simmies usually just get married by the mailbox in their undies or something equally strange.  ??? Lol. So I wasn't sure how much use the stuff would get.

The toilet is crazy expensive in-game. $5k, I believe. I hardly ever use it. It was purchased a long time ago when there wasn't much other premium content to choose from.

I know that the walker and playpen that came with Aurora Skies are my favorite premium objects. It allows toddlers to teach themselves to walk and talk, as well as some skills, and it's super useful. Plus it's adorable to watch the kids playing peek-a-boo in the playpen. It's worth checking out if you raise children a lot.
