But the doesn't the Sims 3 Store sell building sets?  They might already have some of the matching windows available.

The store has 37 (I think) windows. Of those there is one set the BahHaus which contains 21 items including a door or two. That set is rather modern and then the rest of the windows are mainly single items.

ps the BahHaus set is on sale at the moment for 900 points  ;D

I'd like to be able to access family inventory when updating a venue.  This should be pretty easy (I say because I'm not a programmer and should know full well nothing is ever easy) especially considering these tools are accessable on Vacation lots as well as when doing "remodels" in the Architectural Design" career.

On the roof theme, I'd like to be able to put different roof types, like samoht's thatched roof on the pool cabana and still have tiles on the main house. Of course you would also want different colours for the different sections too. Actually a few more roof tools in general wouldn't go astray.

Top of my personal wish list is a roof with a semicircular cross-section, They've done domes, how hard can it be to get the roof to curve in just one dimension instead of two?

I would like to make a garage/room on ground level next to my house that is on a foundation.  I don't like having to have a breeze way between each part of my house.  I just started getting into building and really wanted to be able to do that.  At first I thought I was doing something wrong, but saw a post on a different thread with someone complaining about it also.

It can be done, but you have to use the constraainfloorelevation cheat.

You can use the 'constrainfloorelevation false' cheat, but it is not amazing, and we should be able to alter the height of foundations easily.

My wish is quite simple and I'm told it was available in Sims 2. I'd like it so that when you are building a wall of foundation you get a tile-count so you know how many tiles you are building over. I especially want this as I've used real-life floor plans before for building a house and I try and use the dimensions on the floor plan. So it's annoying when you have to stay counting the tiles. (Obviously I then tweak the house to be sim-friendly). Also would like the tile-count to determine if I have an odd or even number of tiles for window placement, etc.

I'm not sure about walls, but you do get a count with foundations and floors.

I stand corrected, it has been put in! To tell you the truth the last time I tried building something from scratch was when I still had the base game only. Since then I've been to busy exploring the other non-building parts of the expansion packs in my limited playing time.

I thought of something else I'd really like... the ability to design my own rabbit hole buildings... couldn't they just have invisible objects which tell the game 'this building is a school' for example... like they apparently have one that tells the game that the room is in a tomb. Sorry if that's already been mentioned and I missed it.

i want to be able to make dome shaped houses.
they have a bunch in my city and they are really interesting looking and i would love to build one.

also, they should make it easier to build apartments without having to use the buydebug options.
i dont like having to place all the markers in each room for my apartments.

being able to build modular stairs should be brought back into the game.

i would also love to see:
- being able to make greenhouses
- being able to make sunroofs
- terraces [for my gardens and porches]

i cant think of anything else right now, but i will most definately come back when i think of something

Domed shaped houses...very interesting.  They do have that dome that is often used with the science facility and is used with the Butterfly Esplanade park in Bridgeport.  I may goof around with that to see if I can come up with an interesting home.

However, putting the options for building apartments into the regular buy mode would only give less experienced builders a chance to mess up a regular build by accident, with them having no real knowledge on how to fix it.  Building apartments is an advanced building technique, and really shouldn't be attempted by someone who doesn't have a good amount of experience with building cheats.  Besides, placing the markers isn't all that difficult to begin with.  I built my first apartment complex in under an hour.

The greenhouses at least are possibly on their way.  These will likely be included in the expansion pack that will give us weather, should they decide to give us one.  It's possible that sunroofs could be included with the same expansion pack.  Terraces, however, you can build now with a little ingenuity and creative use of building techniques.
