I've lost a saved game. Please help
« on: August 12, 2013, 01:20:20 PM »
I've lost a saved game somehow. I haven't played  this game for a while and someone suggested moving it to try & speed up my game so I moved it to a folder on a memory stick. But when I've put it back it says 'sunset valley. Cannot load this save game. It may have been saved with expansion pack data that is no longer present on this system'

The only change I have made is that I now have IP installed but I have played that original game since loading it. It's in the EA folder under Saves is this correct?

Many thanks, I'd really like to get this back in working order again.

Do you have World Adventures?

This is a common problem with WA if the computer crashes.  Sounds like moving the file may do the same thing.  However, I don't know for sure.  You may, possibly, not have saved the meta files to the memory stick or the move may have corrupted them.. If you have WA you could try replacing the meta files.

There is also a lot of other information in this thread which might help you if you don't have WA or the above does not solve the problem.

Good luck

Hi Wai

Thank you so much for your reply & links.

I don't have WA (yet) but I followed your second link's instructions and it put the game back onto the sims game launcher.

And it's loaded fine. Phew, thank you. Was worried I'd lost the game. My first game & I'm rather attached to the town & the sims there. So thank you again.

Kind regards
