UnCONTAINable - 1BR, 1BA

Lot Size: 20 x 20
Content: University, Pets, Seasons, Generations, Ambitions
Furnished Price: 28,625
Unfurnished Price: 20,638

Well, it turns out that you can live in a container now. I know, I know; you simply can't CONTAIN your excitement right now, can you? But what is that I hear you cry? "Snuffles, can we afford to live in containers?" and the answer to that is YES! This is the perfect starter home for the eco-minded individual or couple. This open-plan container home CONTAINS everything you may need under one (sort of) roof! The house comes in two containers, the larger one that CONTAINS your bedroom, kitchen and living area while the smaller red container at the back CONTAINS your bathroom. We designed it like this so that foul bathroom odours don't pollute your beautiful living space (it's not because I forgot to add a bathroom... *whistles*).

And what is the coolest thing of all? This container has a garden roof! Yes, you did just hear that. A garden roof! (or a roof garden, whatever you prefer)

So fulfil your life-long dream of living in a container by purchasing this amazing starter home today!

Hippie Container

You want to live in a container?! Eco-friendly?! What's it gonna contain? Trees? Hippie.

Size: 20x15
Cost: 22,386
Content: Pets, Supernatural, Island Paradise

Plenty of trees to hide this blemish upon the community from your neighbors. But I can see that they don't have very high standards either. You should get along famously then.

Don't worry about any resources used to make the furniture. 75% of it is still alive. And you won't have to worry about air conditioning, seeing as the container has a chunk missing in the corner. And as for the restroom facilities, there's an outhouse in the back.

Note: I personally do not have anything against hippies, especially seeing as I am practically one myself. All of the writing was done from the point of view of a fat-cat architect.

In fact, there are only three electrical appliances in the entire home: an old television (excavated from a dumpster and refurbished), washing machine (also refurbished), and refrigerator.

Second floor: Kitchen/dining area, office space, and deck with firepit.

Close-up of the kitchen (recycled car tires used in the dining chairs)

Content used from that pack - Topper

Number of Bed Spaces: 3 - 1 Double, 1 Single

Description: Jenga! is a new eco-friendly design brought to you exclusively from Arefa Studios.  Your favorite game of physical skill and mental clarity, which was originally created by Leslie Scott, has been brought to life in this new design.   Jenga! carefully balances old, unused shipping containers and re-purposed them into a home for any environmentally conscious Sim.  This entire home has been designed using materials found or purchased at yard sales, junkyards, thrift shops, and estate sales.  All rooms are fully furnished and usable.  Reduce your Sim's carbon footprint in this versatile home where nothing has gone to waste.

Floor 1 - Entrance, Workshop and Laundry Room

Floor 2 - Kitchen, Living room and Dining room

Floor 3 - Master Bedroom and Bathroom

Floor 4 - Creativity Lab

Floor 5 - Gym and Second Bedroom with Bathroom

Front of House: Thanks to the four solar panels on the roof the overall cost of your bills is lowered by 0.08%!

Garden and Side yard: This is sustainable eating at its best!  Here is all of the fruits, vegetables, and herbs you could ever want.  And honey too!

Floor 1 - Workshop: The ground floor is the place where your Sim can turn anything they find into something other than what it was.  On the left, is the workshop area where all the old pieces of furniture, for this home, were brought and re-purposed into new functional pieces.

Floor 1 - Laundry Room and Finishing Area: In the foreground, is the project finishing area.  In the back of this room is the laundry area with energy saving washing machine.  There is no dryer for this eco-friendly conscious Sim!  Why waste electricity on a dryer when you have a perfectly good clothesline around back.

Floor 2 - Living Room: A second floor living room with a beautiful view!  The lights are made from chipped plates and bowls that have been glued together.  The planters have been created using bark from a tree.  Old milk crates have been re-used to make a sofa, chair and bookcase.  To finish off the room, rusted antique wheels have been used as found art, how clever!

Floor 2 - Kitchen and Dining Room: The counter-tops are made from recycled tires.  Only the best Energy Saving appliances have been placed into this kitchen.  Love those chairs? - They've been found at the local junkyard... and table too.

Floor 3 - Bedroom: While dumpster diving, Arefa Studios found a crate of defective skateboards.  The only issue seemed to be that the skateboards were missing a wheel.  That was no problem at all - so they have been re-purposed into new end tables.  The antique mirror was purchased at an estate sale.  Having great midnight ideas?  Conveniently, there is a drafter's table for your Sim to sketch out his next amazing recycling idea or project.

Floor 4 - Creativity Lab: While scavenging an abandoned barn, Arefa Studios found a wagon wheel which has been made into a ceiling light and we also found twigs that have been used to create a small table. This area has been designed to inspire and bring out the creativity in your Sim.  If he likes to be surrounded by nature while on the computer then this is his new mini hideaway.

Floor 5 - Gym: Why waste gas and travel to a big commercial gym?  Instead hike right upstairs and head to your own personal gym.  No electricity guzzling treadmills found here.  Only machines that require your own brute strength to operate have been placed into this eco-friendly gym.

Floor 5 - Spare Bedroom: Reduce your carbon footprint even more by sharing your space with someone else.  Whether it be a guest or a roommate, this bedroom has been designed to meet all the needs for an energy conscious Sim.  The bed frame has been fashioned out of bamboo harvested from the backyard too.

Welcome your Sim home to Jenga!  Where he can enjoy his time in this recycler's haven!

House of Flynn  - 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath

Lot Size: 25x30
Price: $54,981
Number of Bed Spaces: 2 - From one Double Bed

Content Used: Sims 3, Ambitions, Supernatural, Pets, Generations, Seasons, University Life, Island Paradise, World Adventures, Late Night, Showtime, High End Loft Stuff, Master Suite Stuff, Outdoor Living Stuff, Fast Lane Stuff

Description: This design is inspired by Sam Flynn's House in Tron: Legacy.  The colors were inspired by Forza Motorsports.  This house has been designed by Carsor as an eco-friendly house for any Sim - especially those who are vehicle enthusiasts, like me!  Outside there is a garden around back.  On the top roof there is a sundeck with grill, picnic table, and workout machine.  The entire bottom floor is a working garage.  On the right, is a workshop to tinker around and a lounge area to kick back and relax.  The left side of the garage houses the kitchen, dining table, and laundry area.  Upstairs houses the living room and bedroom.  Through the living room window is a breathtaking view of the lighthouse for Sunset Valley.  Also in the living room area is the hobby shelf, Arcade, Computer and Stereo.  The master bedroom is right off the living room with attached private bath.  I'm sure this would make for a great bachelor pad for that single Sim.

It's interesting, because everyone was thinking freight, and I was thinking big plastic box.
I am open to Constructive Criticism as well.

@ Swirl-Girl - Your take on the contest was most certainly unique. It was quite fun to see just how much you incorporated actual living plants into the build. :)
