Mermaid issues. Boots instead of fins?

Hello!!

I have had this problem ever since I started playing sims island paradise. I don't have any extra content play like normal no cheats. My sims gets pregnant to a merman and then every child born has boots like Hooker high thigh heels! Toddlers all the way upto elderly and they meet turn into mermaids.... Please help this is a horrible glitch .
