Did you know? About the "Dislike Children" trait
« on: August 12, 2010, 02:29:17 AM »
One of my Wishmaster's - most of my events have been with them lately, since they have consumed my life - has the "Dislike Children" trait, yet I proceeded to have him woohoo with his girlfriend, who is now his fiancee, and she has a baby boy. Get this: even though he doesn't like children, he still has an +80 Moodlet for having a baby boy.

I thought that was kinda strange. I'd figure since it's seen as the opposite of the Family-Oriented trait, there would be a negative moodlet for having a child. But guess not. Wonder if it's something EA might have forgotten to put in, or if everyone is supposed to like having a child.  :D

Did he go to the hospital with her?  If he went, then that is what the +80 moodlet is for.

Yeah. I have all my husbands go with their wives into the hospital. (Aren't I such a dreamer?) I'd still think that when a guy who doesn't like children sees a child that is his, he wouldn't exactly be too happy. *shrugshrug*

I gave a sim the dislike children trait and I had a party and invited a child, and my sim was talking to the child and then playing with it. Then my sim was playing games on the computer, but aren't they for children.

It is strange, and I've had similar thoughts regarding the "Dislike Children" trait.

And just thought I'd let ya know, in case you didn't already, it's against the rules of the Wishmaster's Challenge to add family members to the house.  So you might wanna let Metro know what happened in your game, I'm sure he'll have some sort of solution for you.

Thanks for the heads up on this Aria. Yeah, BlueJay, adding Sims to the household in Wishmasters is forbidden. Did that happen, or did your Sim get another Sim pregnant and that Sim had a baby outside the house? If that's what happened then that's okay.

Just like last time with Patrick, now Chad got a baby (actually two) at his fiancee's house. Don't fret; I know the rules.  :D As long as the mother is not in the household, the baby doesn't get added to the household, so it's all good.

His second baby, although he didn't go to the hospital (he didn't even meet the baby, or see his fiancee when she was pregnant), produced the same effect: +80 moodlet with "It's a Boy!" I guess hospitalization doesn't necessarily mean he gets the moodlet then; EA wants people to be happy to get babies. In Sims 2 there were fears for getting married and having children. Where did that go?   ;)

I don't think EA would let Sims be mean to children.  Would they?

The only thing I've noticed with "dislike children" sims is that it is harder to have a baby with them, they will often reject the "try for a baby" social.  Also any time they are in the same room with a child, toddler, or baby they get a negative moodlet.
