New Set/Premium Content: Surf's Up Sun and Fun Collection
« on: August 01, 2013, 02:39:19 PM »
New set over at the Sims 3 store.

It is called the Surf's Up Sun And Fun Collection

Here is the blurb from the store:
Surf's up! With the Surf's Up Sun and Fun Wave Station you'll be catching waves in no time. Want to look the part as well? New swimming suits, wet suits, and hairstyles will help you perform tricks in style! Now get out there and catch some killer waves!

Normally 1400 SimPoints, it is currently on sale for 1200 SimPoints until August 8, 2013

It also comes with some Premium Content.

The blurb:
Dude! It’s totally time to catch some epic waves and carve 'em up. Hang Ten on some custom boards to make this even more off the chain. Just don’t be a baller if the seal destroys your surfboard.

Surf's Up Sun & Fun Wave Station

Looks like this will be the closest thing we can get to actually surfing in Sims 3.

Also realize that to use the Surf's Up Sun and Fun Wave Station, you have to build it on a large enough pool or pond.

Yeah, I saw today this set, but I'm not so excited about it. It would be more fun if the sims can actually take the surfboard and have fun in the ocean.  The only big waves that you can fight are in pool or where you can place the surf marker...  :(

Finally!!! Ive been waiting for EA to release a surfing set for ages! I loved the Surfing Stimulator from The Sims 2 & I'm stoked that we finally have surfing in The Sims 3!   ;D It would be nice if we could use it in the ocean but oh well, can't have it all I suppose. Im really happy to finally see some new swimsuits for elders, children & males, all I have to say is that it's about time! Getting this as soon as I can afford it!  :D

Agreed Rainbow.  Been wanting new swimsuits for males and children for a while.  Can only do so much with skivvies, trunks, and something that looks sort of like a speedo.  And the pirate outfit from Barnacle Bay.  So totally looking forward to the new swim-wear.  And the surfing simulator looks cool too.

And yes, those who look closely in the last picture, there is a seal, and can make you wipeout.

And not just any seal in the last picture. It's a Loose Seal. (You can get a Loose Seal moodlet from the board.) The Loose Seal is a running gag on Arrested Development. It's a play on the name of two of the main characters - Lucille. The Arrested Development seal is dangerous, too, just like the Sim version apparently is.

Actually, the blurb says you could use it in the sea (I personally haven't confirmed this).

Thanks to SimsVip, I found out that you can get the wave machine in-game for 500 Simpoints. Go to Build Mode, and look under Pool Objects.

I haven't placed it yet, but apparently if you have a lot that includes the sea, you can place it in the sea.
