Ahhh thank you. I don't have that world. Maybe I'll have to look into the one next. Does it come with an EP?

@ Gingerkid:  It's  a free download and in my humble opinion is the best laid out I've ever seen.  No brag, just fact.  However, it has it's flaws.  It is VERY graphics intensive so you may experience a lot of lag.  I'm going to remodel that pier since I'm no longer totally happy with it.

@ Twinmum:  aw shucks, gosh.  Thanks, TM.  Needed that little boost.  Have been feeling a tad uncreative lately.

I'm having trouble downloading it. Can you talk me through it please? Open, save, save as etc, which folder should it be in & zipped files

Many thanks

Actually Joria it's just the pier that I'd like. I've recently got IP & I'd love to add it. Do you have the pier to download on its own for now?

I downloaded union cove but when I tried to start a new game using union cove it crashed and shut down. What have I done wrong?

I haven't uploaded it yet but I can and will.  It will be the original version as I'm not done with the remodel.

Probably you did nothing wrong.  When UC got updated the last time around there were some problems.  I wish I could help you get the earlier version.  Maybe I can do a zip file of my copy of the earlier version.  No guarantees as I'm pretty pc illiterate.  No matter what the version though, it is a HUGE file and may still cause crashes.  I can barely run mine.  If you pop off a note to Anushka she might be able to help as she was the one who did the CAW stuff.

Thank you. I may just wait & see if you can save & share the pier then. As my game struggles anyway. It will really struggle with UC then by the sound of it.

It's a lot of hassle for the pier isn't it. If you do manage to share it please let me know.

Many thanks for your help & replies :)

Actually, you inspired me.  Right now the pier is in Sunset Valley being remodeled so you and anyone interested can just plunk it down anywhere they like.

The original pier was just a place that was pretty much all show.  There really wasn't much your Sims could really DO there except walk around and chat and swim in the pool or play games in the game room.  Then a venue was added for Showtime, and that was ok, but still there was just a lot of nothing to do.  It all started because Anushka wanted to see if somehow we could build on water, and between us we figured out we could, long before EA made it easy to do.  There was The Game Room, Gepetto's Toy House, (too crowded for kids to actually play in it), Bayside Boutique, which was just a room full of items of clothing and such, but you couldn't buy any of it, The Drag On Inn pub, and The Treasure Shack which was supposed to be a tourist souvenir shop.  Again, you couldn't buy anything so what's the point?  There was/is a picnic area, a dance floor, a pool, and a large rest room.

The changes I'm making will make each building on the pier useful.  The first building on the left will be Salty's Game Room, (video games, pin ball, etc.), Gepetto's Toy House, (now room for kids to play in and an upstairs place for a Sim to crash in), The Coffee Cup, a coffee house, possibly with internet,
the middle area will still be picnicking, pool, dance floor and rest rooms, The DragOn Inn for a juice bar,
and ?????, haven't decided on what to put in the last building but am thinking Foggy Bottoms Reading Room or I could put a stage venue or a hot air balloon area there.  Any suggestions?

Sounds good. So when you're finished with it we'll. be able to download it & add it to IP? That would be great.

I like the sound of a stage/band area in the last building. What EPs will we need to enjoy the lot as you've made it?

How good are you with technical stuff? My game has started to lag, I've deleted caches, featured items & disconnected from Internet to play & changed my settings. It was fine until a couple of days ago :(

It's done.  You can find it  here:
http://www.carls-sims-3-guide.com/forum/index.php/topic,17309.0.html

If you are lagging, are you playing a dynasty or other long story game?  The larger the game, the longer you play a certain file, the slower the game gets.  Also, high graphic use items, like some worlds, can slow your game down a lot.  I usually take all the games I'm not currently playing out of my Sims3 file by cutting them and pasting to my desktop.  When I want to play them I have to replace them but it seems to help to have only one game going at a time.  I'm horrible at technical stuff so if your pc is clean and your cache files are cleared my only suggestion would be a factory reset which seems to help for some folks.

EDIT to change link:  http://www.carls-sims-3-guide.com/forum/index.php/topic,17308.0.html

Great thanks. Can't wait to add the pier to IP.

Thanks, I've cleared all caches and stuff that I can but I will try that with games. Good tip.

Your link goes to a Dragon Valley coffee shop not the pier. Sorry to be a pain

Thanks, Gingerkid.  Not a pain at all!  I added the correct link above.  I appreciate the catch.
