Sometimes my maids even take it upon themselves to sit down on the couch and watch a good soap opera before they decide to leave. I think the worst I've ever had was a case where my maid stopped by and spent 3 hours just roaming around the house talking to my family and then left. Didn't touch a single thing.

Nope, on the preview which was linked to by yours truly in the other Late Night thread, the author said:

They aren't fearsome or scary, really. In fact, you can't bite anyone without their permission. You can hunt, which colors the Sims around you with a Predator-like thermal vision, but you can only bite your friends.

That actually seems like a very small point of the EP. Everything I've read from the Sims site about friends only said having the right friends can help get you into more exclusive bars and clubs. I think the heart of the EP is more about lush and lavish lifestyles than friends.

Ah yes! I should try to read some things better. Because I was on the same hand with LlamaMama, but like you've said: it is indeed not about how many friend you have ingame, it is about having the right friends.
Like an old Dutch saying: it is not about who you are, but it's about who you know.
