CHAPTER SIXTY-FOURHappy 2014 everyone! It's a pretty big year for me...I'm graduating high school, moving out, going to college, and turning nineteen in September.
Also, people my brother's age are starting high school and that frightens me.
In other news, I finally have a screenshot of my simself's husky. I already showed you all her two cats, and now here;s her dog being randomly brushed by Claire Ursine.
Meanwhile, back at the Royale house, some cool things were being added to the house. Thanks to the Twelve Days of Gifts event on the Sims website, I got a whole bunch of neat stuff for free. I also got 5,000 simpoints for Christmas, so I bought some more premium content that I've had my eyes on for a while. Sadly, I was just a few points off from being able to get Grim's Ghastly Manor after getting the other stuff I wanted, and I kind of needed it for my next dynasty. Oh well, maybe I can talk my parents into buying me more simpoints for Easter.
Either way, the things I did get are fabulous. First, I got the playpen, which can function as a toddler storage unit (just like the baby swing)! I had to move some stuff around in the nursery to be able to fit it in, but I managed.
Then, I got the rest of the Country Livin' set and put the chicken coop next to Victoria's garden. I also got the Farm Fresh Folk set, but I didn't put the diary barn on the property. Instead I use it for another file that I may turn into a story. The clothing in it may make an appearance in this dynasty, however.
I also added the basketball arcade game to the third floor of the house. That one was a gift from EA from the event, so yay, free stuff! I LOVE free stuff. Adding it made me realize that I seriously need to build a game room for the house in the future, since I only have to build three more bedrooms and one more skilling area. For now, the machine lives outside of the blue bathroom.
And now for a really fun thing that happened to me on Monday! I went clothes shopping with my mom at a thrift store near my house (and made my dad freak out because a lot of the clothes I got were from the 1980s), and I wore one of the many new dresses I got yesterday. As I was getting into my pajamas last night, I looked in the mirror and realized that it was almost an exact copy of Victoria's dress, only instead of green it was a periwinkle color and had a different pattern. I didn't get a chance to grab a picture, but I'll be sure to get one within the next few days.
The file is finally starting to show just how massive it has gotten. It's not unbearable, but when I first open it up I have to pause the game and wait for a half hour before it will work properly. After that everything goes just fine with the occasional freeze for a few minutes. I'm praying that it'll hold on for the rest of the dynasty.
But enough about the bad stuff. Look at Tatiana and Schlitz!
How precious! She and Tatiana are the best of friends now. They're always together when Tatiana isn't at work, playing tug of war and cuddling.
Sophie spends most of her time sitting in the baby swing looking cute, though sometimes Margrethe takes her out for a stroll in the stroller.
I also finally ditched all of the floor hyginators. I pulled one out to keep under the baby swing, but the anarchy it has caused is the worst yet. Elisabeth has been hit the hardest, and the constant late night wakings to go vomit put a big hit on her work performance. It doesn't help that she now uses a cane and is incredibly slow. Schlitz is always puking on the floor, everyone is miserable, and it really had to go. I sold it for a pretty penny, and now the plague has lifted.
So far, Sophie is the quietest baby. So far she has only cried once because she filled her diaper and the floor hyginator wasn't there to clean her up. Beatrix came to the rescue, cleaned her up, gave her a snuggle, then put her back to bed.
Another thing I noticed is that every time the plumbing curse takes a victim, Sophie gets the fiendishly delighted moodlet. This should prove to be very interesting.
Of course, Schlitz has a hard time sleeping through the night. The poor baby almost always has to pee, and when it's late at night nobody is able to bring her outside to the lawn. The only other option is to pee on the floor or sleepily make her way to the porch and pee there. Then, her destruction need drops, and she has to chew on something for an hour or so, eat something, then go back to bed only to be woken up by everyone eating breakfast.
The poor thing just wants to sleep!
Victoria has picked up a new hobby: fighting with Charles the Evil Chicken!
There have been several garden brawls since I got the coop.
Despite being much bigger and possessing opposable thumbs, Victoria almost always loses. How you lose a fight with a chicken, I'll never know.
In other news, Margrethe has SuperMaxed sculpting! This just leaves maxing her career, achieving her lifetime wish, her elder pieces, her final unique LTR, and five best friends to go. This is the farthest I have gotten in a dynasty, so yay!
Now that she has sculpting SuperMaxed, she can finally work on the other skills she needs to complete her lifetime wish, inventing and painting. This keeps her busy and leaves her with very little time to make friends. She has a bunch of aquaintences, but her only best friend is Gustav. Tatiana has a lot of free time on her hands, so the night before Sophie's birthday they sat down on the couch and started reading some skill books. Margrethe worked on getting her inventing skill up, while Tatiana rose her social networking skill so she could take advantage of the relationship transmogrifier. I can't believe that I didn't think of using it sooner.
To end this chapter on a positive note, I shall share a little something that Schlitz does. Every time someone comes home from work or wherever they've been running around, she runs to the front door to greet them. It's especially funny when she screws up and falls over.
Also, you all should be proud of me, because I just wrote this entire thing with two of my cats climbing all over me.
