I love the email format that looks neat, nice and it has retro looks especially with the font that you use, I love that and don’t forget about the screenshots with that tone, its look perfect!

The way of your storytelling here is so detailed and realistic. So, she’s a Goth huh? I loved when you use name like Cassandra and Alexander that’s seem familiar especially when you play TS2. I loved Goth family and always make Bella come back and reunited with Mortimer no matter what XD

Thank you! I found a website where you can edit pictures for free, and I love to abuse it for flashbacks and special chapters.  ::)

I borrowed the idea for the email format from another forumer here, so it's not my entire idea. I originally wasn't going to include it, but I changed my mind at the last minute and sent teenage Beatrix back to the house so I could get some pictures of her at the computer. It made it a lot more realistic and could better establish the relationships Beatrix had with her family. I've always been pretty close with my brother, so I got a bit of insparation from that (though instead of the ten year difference between Alexander and Beatrix, I'm five years older than my brother).

I'm glad you liked it! I never played Sims 2 (my parents thought it was too "mature" for me when I first heard of it...meanwhile they let me watch CSI, what is logic), so when I got Sims 3 I spent hours reading the whole storyline to the game on the wiki because I had been so out of the loop.

She should be able to. The goal is to get Bella to never vanish in the first place, and I spun the dynasty in by saying that completing it will prevent paradoxes so Beatrix/Isabella will continue to exist and instead become Bella's daughter instead of Dina's.

The Goth family is my favorite family in the whole game (it reminds me a lot of my own, we're all cranky and a bit strange in my house...and we have the ashes of dead relatives on our mantle, that always freaks people out  ::)), and for some reason I always unconciously involve them in every dynasty I've done. My second generation in my first dynasty married Mortimer and in my second dynasty my second generation heir married another child Gunter and Cornelia had. And fun fact, the names Miss Erickson sugested for Beatrix were the names of my previous founders.

If you're interested in the Goths, I would read the Gothic Legacy by ILoveDolls. It has just been moved to the graveyard, but it is a good(and long) story about them.

How do you get that sepia tone? Are you using the gallery or Photobucket?

I actually already read it twice, back when I was just lurking. I've lurked these forums since I first the got the game.  ::)

I used a free online picture editor. A simple google search turns up a whole bunch of them.

With all of the new information that has come to light, I updated the family tree. It's pretty insane now.

You've thought it through so much - I'm just seeing how long I can get red hair to last. Hah. Ha... ::) Anyway, thank you so much for the story!  ;D :D ;)

Everyone loves the house!

I'm glad that you're enjoying the story! I came up with the backstory a little while after I started, but I've had all of the immortals planned since July. I spent a week picking names alone.

I'm so sorry for the random unannounced hiatus, guys. :(

I got really sick back in November and it hasn't gone away yet, and it's killing my ability to be awake for more than a few hours at a time. I've been to the doctor a few times about it and they tested for everything under the sun, but they don't know what's wrong with me, only that it has to do with my sinuses like every other time I've been sick.

I'm on a huge cocktail of medication to help deal with it and so far it seems to be helping little by little, so I should be able to get back into the swing of things soon. I'll try to update later tonight because I need to be more productive (I get to spend all day today working on missed assignments, yay) and I have made a bit of progress. Some of the Royales went on a trip to Egypt and it went fantastically, no bugs or glitches or anything, and there's a brand new vacation house that they own!

Despite the bad news that I've been sick for a very long time, I do have good news! Mom relented, and I'm getting Sims 3: Pets for Christmas (my poor desktop computer is sobbing)! Prepare for lots of dogs to join the household because I'm pretty sure I won't be able to handle the cats dying and dogs are fun. I can totally see Tatiana owning a Saint Bernard or a German Sheppard. I hope there's a Pekinese in the pack, they make me giggle when they walk.

Yes, I'm still a huge cat person, don't worry. I just like watching dog shows.  ::)

I'm trucking along with my work as we speak. Two worksheets to go, then a bit of studying for an exam I have in a few hours, and then I'm free. Surprisingly I haven't fallen asleep again.

Eh, my parents gave up on yelling about my assignments in the middle of junior year. They finally realized that yes, I can multitask and yes, I do do my work better at night. Only took 'em fourteen years to realize this.  ::)

It's less perserverence and more stubbornness. I'm like a mule that way.  ::)

Thanks. The addition of my normal morning medication is actually helping, since it keeps me and helps me have more energy (getting the perscription filled in a pain in the butt, though). Though taking all of this medication feels like I'm swallowing teeth.  I feel like an old lady. :-\

A Royal Immortal Dynasty - Chapter Fifty-nine (12/12/2013)
« Reply #374 on: December 12, 2013, 05:42:19 PM »
CHAPTER FIFTY-NINE

After an impromptu hiatus due to illness, I'm comin' back swinging.

I got locked out of my house this afternoon. I spent a while trying to break into my own house before my mom finally came to the rescue. I tried to lift the garage door open and failed, so I started using a huge amount of sticks as a system of levers to try and open it. Failed again, now my back hurts. At least I'm inside.

Tatiana: These past couple of weeks have been hilariously awful for you.

Thankfully I finally got all of my math work done.

%%%%

Guess what finally happened?

More on that later.

Beatrix finally broke down and told the other immortals the entire story, from her family growing up to how she will have to die. They were all very, suspiciously quiet afterwards...

At Beatrix's request, Elisabeth hid away in her logic room and began making potions almost nonstop. And they weren't the usual turbo sleep potions...

Since there are so many people in the house and not a lot of bathrooms, it can get pretty messy. Everyone gets the Steel Bladder lifetime reward after the Long Distance Friend reward, but there's no way to permanently stop hygiene from decreasing. Tatiana has Dirt Defiant, but even she gets messy at times, and with random strangers coming up and throwing test tubes into the bonfires, everything stinks. So I added a sixth bathroom to the house and will eventually get around to adding a seventh. And more. There's a small toilet stall in the barn and in the nectar making room, but it's a long walk.

I got a special request to make Margrethe's wedding extra beautiful, so I did just that. Instead of getting married in the barn, I set up an outdoor wedding. It's a little bittersweet because this is the second to last wedding for the Royales.

Anyway, here's the new and improved wedding area.

Here's where most of the partying will take place. It probably won't be as insane as Margrethe's bachelorette party since you can't pass out at wedding parties (totally unrealistic, by the way, my cousin's wedding when I was little was insane...my cousin's new father-in-law actually lost his pants), but juice-and-nectar-holic step aunt Kesha is going to be there and that's always cause for great fun.

Beatrix starting drinking early. Attending so many weddings at her age gets tiring, they all seem to run together now. I've lost track of just how old she is.

Beatrix: I'm...actually, I don't even know anymore. I just five hundred years old and leave it at that.

Tatiana: Thank you for not saying years young.

Yeah, that makes me uncomfortable.

Always breaking tradition, Margrethe and Gustav took their own wedding photograph, the first in this dynasty. I've tried to take regular wedding photographs in my other dynasty attempts, but it always took a while since I didn't have University Life or World Adventures in those days, just Ambitions (I got UL in the middle of my first dynasty). But the pictures of Brent and Tatiana in the main room are old and we needed an update. They've been moved to Brent's memorial while some were placed in Tatiana's room, and now Margrethe and Gustav have taken over.

Just before they took their picture, however, there was a bit of a fiasco that made me nearly rip my hair out and rejoice at Margrethe existing in a state of obliviousness. You see, everyone was standing around talking in the kitchen after changing into their formal wear (Margrethe, of course, talking to herself). I step away from the computer to sneeze and blow my nose, because, y'know, sick, and then I come back a little over thirty seconds later to see everyone yelling at Gustav.

Turns he used a pickup line on Tatiana and they were flirting with each other (almost as frightening as the time I saw Lolita and Cornelia Goth flirting with each other -shudders-). Everyone was raging, but Margrethe didn't even notice even though it was happening right next to her. Now Gustav is no longer friends with everyone in the household. I'm just glad Margrethe was oblivious.

Thankfully I went and got everyone moving, putting Elisabeth on fire duty. Giant bonfires seem to be the key to great parties.

Elisabeth's in-laws showed up not long after.

With their arrival, the party could begin! The blonde teenager never sat down, instead yelling that she couldn't make it. There's always one.

With that, the ceremony went off without a hitch.

Margrethe and Gustav cut the cake as soon as they were done and everyone scrambled for a piece. Poor Jimmy got his piece last!

Alright, now for some pictures of the extended family. The woman with black hair in the light green maternity outfit is Margrethe's aunt Jodi Andrew, younger sister of Cheryl Andrew, who is dating Garland Groves, brother of Jimmy. After the teenaged Kristen O'brien (I think that's her name), she was the youngest person in attendance to the wedding. Everyone else was an old man or old lady.

The woman sitting next to Margrethe is juice-and-nectar-holic step aunt Kesha Dye, Jimmy's stepsister. She was once again stuck in the loop of drinking all of the juice and nectar in sight. Another ten bottles were lost to her.

She and I would probably get in a fight over nectar if we were at a wedding together.

Jimmy got to spend to time talking to his ex-girlfriend-turned-stepsister Tamra Dye. They aren't friends, but they can have civil conversations with each other. He managed to catch her in the bathroom as she was washing dishes.

The whole party rounded off with step aunt Kesha showing Margrethe how it's done. Everyone was so juiced at the end, but Margrethe, Gustav, and Tatiana have a trip to take...
