CHAPTER NINEOh god...
Beatrix: You have no reason to panic.
I'm not panicking, I'm riding on the exhilaration of incoming success.
Anyway, Victoria got extremely stressed out while learning how to drive (I don't blame her). I had them stop the lesson so that she could calm down and bring her fun meter back up. I just so happened to stop right by the river, so what better way than to go swimming?
Victoria decided to impersonate Jesus for a little while.
She got into a splash fight with her dad.
After swimming for a while, they both got out of the water a went fishing for a while. Billy REALLY needs to get cracking on the fishing skill so he can catch the deathfish.
This poor woman was stuck here for about two days. I am a kind and merciful ruler, so I reset her.
Billy continued the lesson, but Victoria got stressed out again and the lesson cancelled itself. Billy biked home, and Victoria ran halfway across town in her swimsuit. I was afraid that I would have to reset her, too, since she wouldn't stop running. Eventually she corrected herself and biked back home.
She and Billy ate leftovers for dinner, since Beatrix was at work and neither of them know how to cook. This is Beatrix's last work day before she hits elder, so I'm pushing her as hard as I can to get as close to the top level.
Beatrix managed to get three quarters of the way up the performance bar, so one more session of working hard and she'll max out her career and achieve her lifetime wish. Let the nail-biting commence.
Since Victoria started high school she has had nothing but stress. She wasn't sleeping, was barely getting enough time in her garden, and almost always in a foul mood. I decided that drastic measures needed to be taken.
She ate breakfast with her dad, which she rarely manages to do, then left the house an hour before the bus would come.
Only she didn't go to school.
Beatrix and Billy went to the fish hatchery for the day, bringing along some fruit to eat as a snack. Then, Victoria snuck back to the house and went right to work in the garden.
Do you guys remember when Billy was going around collecting seeds? Well, now they're being put to use after resting in the garden since Victoria was a toddler. Victoria's gardening skill was finally high enough so that she could plant special and rare seeds, and she spent most of the morning doing just that. While planting some other vegetables, Victoria hit level eight of the gardening skill and completed the Master Planter challenge. Thank you, new plants from University Life!
Despite being out of the house all day, Beatrix somehow knew that Victoria had skipped school to be in the garden.
After scolding Victoria, Beatrix let her off of the hook. Beatrix understood the problems Victoria had been having and the importance of taking a day to garden.
The next day, Victoria actually went to school, and Beatrix went to talk to Elaine Joy to finish the best friends challenge. If she could get her up to best friend, then Beatrix would successfully have six bes-
-oh, shoot, Mags Newbie died.
We're back to four best friends. Dangnabbit.
I managed to get Elaine Joy to be Beatrix's best friend, and then vowed to spend the next day trying to find a new best friend to replace Mags. Every time I try to get in touch with Heathery Crosby she's either busy or it's too late, so I've given up on her. I'll find someone.
Also, Lucky Perkins is still alive. What's up with that? It's like when Lisa Bunch was still alive well into generation four in one of my other dynasties.
Victoria came home from school with a friend and the Outside Reading opportunity. She finished that pretty quickly, putting her at the halfway mark of her BlackOps. And she's still just a teenager!
Also, the burglar came back, this time going to the barn. What do I need to do, stick an alarm at the very edge of the lot?!
Victoria: Yes.
-flips a table-
The next morning Beatrix set out to find a best friend. While doing so I bought yet another inheritance, since I noticed that the family funds were getting low. If the haul from the garden that day is worth anything, it will give me enough money to build Victoria's bedroom and still keep a lot of money left over.
Beatrix went and visited a random house, meeting Jeanne Orourke. They immediately hit it off despite having nothing in common (thanks Observant lifetime reward!). While they were talking, a gossip message came up telling me that Mags and Robert Newbie had split up.
Well, yeah...Mags is kind of dead...
Anyway, after a whole day of conversation, Beatrix had best friend number six in her hands. SUCCESS! Now all I need is to max her career, get her lifetime wish (which will happen all at once), complete the final skill challenge for cooking, and get her elder pieces. It'll probably take just a few more sim days to get the Ambrosia, since Billy has a much higher fishing skill and Victoria planted a whole bunch of unknown special seeds. There's nothing more that I can do other than rely on the game mechanics now.
This is the face of a confident woman ready to tackle immortality.
Beatrix: I don't know if I'm ready to live forever, actually...
Don't worry, dear, I've been writing since 1999. I always have some trick up my sleeve.
Victoria: I've read your National Novel Writing Month 2013 novel, there was nothing but pain and sufferin-
That doesn't mean I'll apply it to you. I can be nice, y'know.
I completely forgot to buy birthday cakes for Beatrix and Billy and tried to send them to bed. Billy had other plans.
This time he forgot his beard.
Beatrix followed suit.
With Billy laughing the entire time.
With a trip to the mirror, Beatrix had a new wardrobe fit for a queen and her old auburn hair color back. Doesn't it seem a little bit familiar...?
Everyday:
Formal:
And sleepwear:
I went to correct Billy's wardrobe and he fell right on over. Just like me!
We'll know sometime tomorrow if Beatrix makes it to immortal or not. Stay tuned!
