I played the sims 3 before and my computer pretty much stopped working.

My plan is to get a new pc with better specs and all to play sims 3 again.

However.  I like to go ahead and download some of the CC and put it into storage where I can find it.  This has been brought on to me so I can have an easier time finding the certain CC that I had before.

Where online is the best place I can store the CC downloads until I get myself situated again?

Do you know what happened to your computer that made it stop working? Maybe it's something that's possible to mend? If so, you wouldn't have to buy a new computer after all, and that would save you some money.

A thought. Assuming it wasn't your hard drive that broke, it would be easiest to simply install the hard drive from your old computer into the new one, as a secondary hard drive. It's not a particularly complicated procedure. Assuming the new computer has a spot for a second drive out of the box (I think most do. Two might be the default size) you simply need to screw it into place in the new case, and you probably use the old cable to plug it into the new motherboard. That's really all there is too it, Windows can figure out the rest (I assume Max OS can too). You also have to hook it up to the power supply. They don't use very much, so this shouldn't be a problem, just plug it into any free spot.

This is a picture of part of my Motherboard. You can see the ports labeled as SATA#, these are where storage devices and things like your CD/DVD drive plug in. If you look top center, the reb cable is the Drive I added, the black one in the dark blue port next to it is the original hard drive, and down in the orange port is my DVD burner.



If this works for you, you can save some time, and you also get a second hard drive to store more stuff in if you like.

I had two computers.

My first one was an acer laptop and it kept heating up and it was fried.  I manage to play sims 2 and 3 on it.

My second one was a 10 inch sized laptop couldn't play sims 3 because it didn't have enough ram.  But I manage to play sims 2 and The sims on it.  However I use windex to clean the screen and some of it got inside and destroyed the screen.

So I have no other alternative then to get a new one.  Hopefully one with 4 gigs of ram and 1t of hard drive or storage.  Enough to handle large sims 3 worlds and such.  In the past a lot of the CC took some effort to find.  Some I liked very much.  Some of them I don't think I can find anymore or even get back.  So I want to know an online storage site where I can store it safely and I know where to find it just in case and such.

Maybe you should consider buying a desktop computer next time, because they are generally more price worthy, and also they're not as likely to get overheated. They have much larger screens too, and better keyboards, actually I think everything about them is better, except portability of course.

4 GB RAM isn't really enough for Sims 3, so if you can afford it, 8 or 16 GB would be much better. RAM isn't very expensive nowadays.

You also need a good graphics card with at least 1 GB of dedicated memory. If you don't know all that much about computers yourself, try to find someone who does, who could help you with your purchase.

I know what I need to do as to play sims 3 again and perhaps sims 2 and the original.  Yes I still find the original two still fun to play.

I don't know much about CC, so if anything I say doesn't make sense, it's probably wrong. But, couldn't you just write down where you found the CC you want, get your new computer set up, then go back to the websites you wrote down and download them?

Unless you do what Audren says then the only other possibility that I can think of is that you download the content and then put the download files onto a USB Device or something that you can then plug into your new PC and be able to move the files across.

Since you are looking to store your files in the cloud, here are some suggestions:

Microsoft Skydrive - 7GB free, you already have this if you have a hotmail/windows account
Google Drive - 15GB free, you already have this if you have a google account. Space is shared with your gmail.
Box.com - 5GB free
Mediafire - 10-50GB free (I have 50GB for free, not sure how it works), limit of 200MB per file
Dropbox
4shared

These are some of the most popular places to store back up files. Personally, I use Skydrive, Google Drive, Box.com and Mediafire. I'm not really a fan of 4shared, but lots of people like Dropbox.
