Installation without CD drive?

Not sure if this is in the right place, but..
I received a new laptop as a gift which unfortunately does not have a CD drive, and no place around my area sells external ones, so I was wondering if anyone could possibly help me out here? x_x
I've read something about "mounting" TS3, but I have no idea what it means and can't really find a straightforward explanation or tutorial as to how to do this.

P.S,
I have everything installed on an external hard drive, but the only issue is the whole not being able to play without having the previously installed disk in the drive, if that makes any difference.

Have you registered your games through EA/Origin?

If so, you can download Origin and from there download and install all of your games (No CD needed). I'd recommend digital download for future games

I followed the link on another site to register it, but the link was broken, and another just led me to my origin store purchases. Could you possibly give me a quick walk through? I'm probably doing something wrong here. x_x

Last time I tried (two weeks ago maybe?) the link to register games was broken, so maybe it was still not working when you tried. They seem to have fixed it now, here's the link:

You will need to sign in or create an account first. If the link doesn't work, just go to thesims3.com, scroll all the way down and you will find a link that says "Register a new game" or something like that.

Just register all the games you have, open Origin (the program, not the website), go to the My Games tab and they should all be there. Then you can download them and they should get installed automatically.
