For Love Day we went on a lovely trip to the Spring Festival!
"Hey girl--when I get older, we're going to make lots of babies. Whaddya say?"
"Oh, you're so cute!"
". . . Not the reaction I was going for."
While Nate was making creepy passes at Sonya, I hung out with Karim. We're pretty good friends at this point, after being the only
normal people at family gatherings.
"Hey, little lady."
"I'm your aunt."
"This just really isn't my day."
Mum and Dad had to wait until we got home to celebrate the love, but once we got home . . .
. . . They celebrated the love.
Meanwhile, Nate had a target, and he was making a plan to make Sonya Alto his (future) girlfriend.
It began with making her his babysitter, which is strangely both creepy and brilliant.
While Nate was forming his master plan, I experienced my own share of romantic drama at Prom, where I also won Prom Queen! Don't I look gorgeous in my prom dress? Not to brag or anything, but credit where credit is due!
With this guy. Travis Applebaum.
Of course I was going to break it off right away, but then I saw his house! Which made me a wee bit more conflicted.
Then I got home, walked into Mum and Dad's bathroom without knocking, and was so scarred that I completely forgot about Prom until the next morning.
Then I saw Mum making apology calls to all the women Nate had harassed, and was emotionally scarred all over again by my little brother's antics.
While I was busy rocking in a corner, Mum invited Travis over and put him on a treadmill. She had seen the house, too, and figured that he might be a little more
appetizing if he slimmed down a bit.
Sure, he looked
better, but . . . still not great.
Even so, I decided I might as well try having a high school boyfriend, if only so I could dump him after graduation. And who knows? Maybe we would have great chemistry.
Or . . . not.
Well, I'm nothing if not persistent, so I cornered him after school and tried again.
This time, Travis realized that I'm WAY out of his league!
Then I was abducted by aliens on the way home.
Clearly, not my day.
