Alright, so this is
not my first trip to the rodeo with this particular problem with The Sims 3 and a Mac. This has happened with earlier expansions and I guess that I'd just hoped for better since this wasn't happening when I first installed IP (and UL) on my Mac. However, I cannot get into the game because of "Disc Authorization Failure."
Here is what I've done so far:
- Rebooted the computer -- continually. No luck.
- Deleted the Cache and Downloads folders, emptied trash and rebooted -- repeatedly. No luck.
- Deleted cookies on computer, emptied trash and rebooted -- once. No luck.
- Verified the Disk -- repeatedly. I cannot repair or verify permissions for some reason. No luck.
I've also tried unplugging the computer and holding down the power button for five seconds, then plugging it back in and turning it on. No luck. I'm not sure why this would help, but it was one possible solution that I found.
Right now I'm going to try a different account on the computer and load through that account to see if that helps. Otherwise, I'm totally at a loss and beginning to feel frantic
Any other advice?
P.S. This is running on a Mac Mini with no external storage installed currently!
