Lol! That would be bad if your sim needed to go somewhere and couldn't get out with all the gems in the way! :o So...many...gems!

They just walk over the top of them.  :)

Here's a picture of one of the relic collections I completed.

The Gold Figurines Collection from Egypt. Each one of these babies is between $1.5K and $2.5K. Took me a long time to find all of them. One of them I bought at the relic vendor in Egypt.

I have just seen a video on Youtube that claims that you can get Spire Cuts of all the Gems. There was video proof on it! It was an awesome looking Rainbow Spire. To get it you need Transfiguration and Tiberium, but you need a lot as it is random apparently.

3:51 for the Spires - Video on Transfiguration

Yes Samoht, you can, but it is a lot o random chance you're facing. I lost tons (more than 20 big spire cuts) of tiberium trying and since in dynasty I can't reload (exit without save) it will be hard, but I'm getting there, I had a little better luck with polished split halfs but I still have 19 gems left:

But I do like that geode egg:

We had a member who was making a lot of spire cut gems awhile back.  Here's the thread.

Thanks Pam, I only just heard of this! IS it off topic to ask how to make Skull Cuts?

@Samoht

There's an article for it here:

http://www.carls-sims-3-guide.com/skills/collecting/worldadventures/transfiguration.php

Scroll down and there are several recipes for various things via transfiguration.

I have read that before and only now has it clicked that I am using 5 types of Gems and only really getting Soulpeace Gems, so now I will try with just the 4 Types of Gems. I shall send out a certain someone who I can't mention yet due to my slow updating skills in some stories to collect some Jade.  ;)

@samoht04:

The information on the Guide is most certainly correct, but it's also a bit complicated.  For me, the easiest way to get a skull cut is to put 8 different cuts of the same gem on the XL Display Case.  If I have a Sculptor in the family, I can get the Sculptor's Egg cut gem for much less money than a heart shaped cut and it will be one of the 8 needed cuts.  As Carl says in the Guide, you won't really get your money back with a skull cut gem.  It's mostly just to have the skull as part of a collection.  If your family has plenty of money, it won't matter.

There are other ways to get skull cuts, I'm sure, but this way with 8 different cuts of the same gem is guaranteed to result in a skull cut of that gem.  For me, it's worth the expense to know for sure I'll get what I want.

My Vision is to have an entrance hall to the Immortal Museums and have a display with Jade on, in all cuts.  :)

That will be gorgeous!  Are you going with regular cuts or large cuts?

Dang I had a huge collection of ice sculptures  from 9 gens because the head of the family was immortal due to ambrosia so he sculpted out every one from baby to elder! but for  some reason when he moved they disappeared it's a shame, it would be perfect for the Wowza collection. Oh well...
