Sorry for the question, samoht04, but what are "Chests?" (I'd like one! :))

I bought some of the Chests from France, you can get them in all the WA locations. A stone chest from Egypt, a red/blackish(brown) chest from China and then a Gold and wooden type one from France. I keep Gems and Harvestables in them.

You buy them at the General Store in each of the vacation locations.

I know this is off topic but thank you for mentioning you keep your harvestables in the chests. I have accidentally had my Sims make pancakes from flame fruit or life fruit and leaving them on the floor just seems so odd. What a great idea!

I love that someone else collects certificates.   I had a Sim (though the game crashed... darnit)  who had every kind of fish, perfect, and mounted.  Another was working on collecting stones and having every cut available... (martial arts & board chopping made this quest easier!) Also was working on collect every kind of bug (had all the butterflies!) Now I just need to get a Sim who does it all, and not 8 different ones collecting stuff.

I was wondering what do people consider collections?  How many would you consider there are?

One of my friends has a collection of petrified fruits and vegetables. She has one of each type including life fruit and flame fruit. I didn't think it was possible, but she said she happened upon them and her sim had the lucky trait. I'll see if she will send me a picture.

On another note I have been inspired by this thread and will now go make a sim to collect things and show them off here. Pictures to come.

In my Dynasty family, I'm working on getting large cuts of every shape of every gem.  That means I need to have 8 of the regular cut and then transfigure it into a large cut.  The entire set, plus skull cut, is quite stunning.  I'll post pictures when I have it complete.

Same here Pam, but getting enough fluorite is becoming harder and harder. All other gems are relatively fine but that one is extremely rare (or is it just my bad luck). Looking forward seeing your collection!

I'm up to making large plumbobs of fluorite.  I get them from breaking space rock blocks.  Surprisingly, regular diamonds are my most rare.  I only have 2 of them in the large size.  I'm completely finished with Alabaster, Quartz, Citrine, Turquoise, and Amethyst.  :)

Yes, you're right about white diamond, but I can find it around SV so I have enough of them, but fluorite is so rare that neither miner nor sculptors are finding it, and it is very rare from space board too. I'm only on third cut, and save tons of gems for future cuts, but fluorite is driving me crazy  :P

I think it is time for me to get a collector, I need a Sim with less of a work schedule that can learn Martial Arts, Inventing and still collect.

Also I am going to have my Dynasty collect their Gem, they need to get every cut! Look's like I will need a few trips to get Lot's of Jade!  :)

Started a new game with a Collector, so far he has maxed Athletic and Martial Arts, he has been breaking boards, using the miner and just got the collection helper! He also became a 3 star celebrity!  :D

My new favourite Gems are the Vampire Eye gems! They are so cool, I thought they were just Rubies until the price was around $250 - $300 uncut!

Lol! That would be bad if your sim needed to go somewhere and couldn't get out with all the gems in the way! :o So...many...gems!

I left him to fill the lot up while I was having dinner but then an opportunity popped up a few minutes after I left him, quite annoying. I think I am going to get a full collection of the Vampire Eyes since they look so cool!  ;D
