What's your favorite skills in the Sims 3?
« on: July 21, 2013, 12:08:12 PM »
So, what are your favorite skills in the Sims 3? Not necessarily, easiest to supermax for a dynasty, but which one do you like the most? Does it entertain you, or does it have awesome perks?

One if my favorites hands down is, the Science Skill. I love cloning things and turning different objects into another! You can clone sims and bring them into your household as infants, which technically is kind of like single parenthood. I must say, it's pretty fun getting PlantSims. And cloning expensive gems and metals for cash!

I also like the Piano Skill. The sound is so beautiful! I really admire just watching my sim play a white (or black) baby grand piano. Playing for tips is an AWESOME moneymaker!

I also have a thing for Nectar Making. It's pretty fun to play with and having racks of aged delicious nectar in your basement really adds a cool vibe to the game. Plus, it's a pretty good moneymaker.

So, what's your favorite skill and why?

Just added one to the list—scuba diving. I love the beautiful scenery underwater, finding Knick knacks, and opening treasure chests full of goodies. Plus, mermaids already have level ten in it.

Cooking - Nice not to have to go to the bistro all the time to get the delicious meal moodlet, or whichever one it is.

Handiness - I have things breaking all the time. The 50 simoleons may add up slowly, but it does add up.

Writing and Painting - Skills for two of the most lucrative careers. I once had a household with a writer and painter. Long story short, they had close to 400,000 in funds after I was done with them.

Guess I could go with the skills that stand out to me. I'll concede that things like cooking and handiness are really useful, but I was always going to have those skills I think.

Instead, a couple that I haven't actually used very much yet. Martial arts would be one for sure. Not even for the teleportation, I just like the sparing, and the knowledge I can beat up mummies. Also alchemy, primarily for changing life states. If I want to play as a vampire or a genie or whatever for a while, I can do that, but then I can go back to being a normal Sim.

Also, if the paparazzi that camp on my lawn every night are particularly rowdy, I can always send them off to dream land for a while. They're lucky I don't have a ready stash of ingredients for a more permanent solution (mummy curse seems like a fitting fate. Gives them time to think about how irritating they are).

My favorites are charisma and cooking. I love my sims cooking and all the different things in game they can cook. Charisma makes it easier for sims to make friends. I hate having those long convos to make a sim a friend.

Mine is the guitar Intrument skill and Cooking skill. I also like Charisma but it takes time and have to befriend everyone in the town.

Cooking + gardening + nectar making. Easy way how to get even over +150 mood by perfect nectar and meal.
Handiness - great utility.
Painting - DIY decorations which boost fun motive while being maked.
Marital arts - animations when two level 7+ sims are fighting are awesome.

These are my best, but most skills are useful anyway.

I appreciate everyone's comments. :)

It seems most say Cooking, Handiness, and Charisma.
I really like the perks of Charisma, but I don't spend much time making friends, only in my Immortal Dynasty.
Handiness is fabulous. I love upgrading objects and stuff like that. Plus calling the Repairman adds up.
Cooking is great for an elated mood, and almost anyone can learn it.

My favorite skills would probably be cooking, nectar making, and riding.
Cooking mainly because of of the variety of reciepes and the mood boosts.
Nectar making is just really neat because you can make loads of combinations and the nectar grows in value.
I like riding because it's just fun, lol! ;D
