Sorry for the belated comment - I have been busy elsewhere but today is my "catching-up day".
Don't underrate your abilities as a writer and a storyteller. I really like your story, though I have not often left comments. I know how you feel though, since there really are marvellous writers on the forum. But don't compare yourself to them, just be yourself.
And I won't give you advice on whether to continue or to stop the story. It's completely up to you, if you have the interest to write on. In my experience, it sometimes takes time until a story finds it's audience. But if you like your family and decide to go on, I'll be reading.
