Soooo, I'm asking for help in making an above ground aquarium, AND if anyone has all the codes for the fog emitter could you please post them?
The only ones I have so far as fishsharkactive, (for shark tank), and bubbles.

Here is a list, but it is in a story on the EA Sims webite.  http://www.thesims3.com/contentDetail.html?contentId=252116On the second page of the story is where it lists the fish codes.  Third page only has bubbles and seaweed.  :)
Ignorance is not an excuse, please read the forum rules.

Did you watch the video, Joria? There's a link to a blog or website which has more codes.

Debi pm'd me the necessary links so now I will be able to make my pool.  One of them says there are FOUR THOUSAND commands for the FE!  Can you imagine?  Been too busy to give it a shot yet, though.
What?  Grannies can't play games?

Ok I'm probably such an art major for suggesting this, but if there's one thing that helps me landscape as well as decorate interior it's the color wheel. Essentially the rules of the color wheel can be applied to indoor and even outdoor decorating. One such rule is the complementary colors rule. Complementary colors are colors that are across from one another on the color wheel (red:green, blue:yellow, purple:orange). This is very useful because if the side of your house is green for example then you could use the variety of red or pink roses to really stand out and pop against that background and vice versa. This works for all colors of the rainbow. Here's a link to a color wheel in case you're interested.

http://www.colorsontheweb.com/colorwizard.asp

You can enter the hex code of a color you like and by clicking the complimentary button, find out it's exact compliment, hex code included! Neat huh?

Another good tip for landscaping (this doesn't really apply indoors) is the odd number rule. To make things look natural place them in groups of odd numbers. Put three rose bushes on one side of a staircase and do the same for the other side. It looks a bit more fuller and natural. Three, I find, is the best number to use in this situation. Five is better for bigger lots or areas but can seem a little overbearing if not done correctly and one is just a lonely number. One little rose bush seems a bit sad and depresses me.

I hope this helps you guys. If you want I can upload a tutorial or some gardens I have done to assist anyone in a stump.

I love that tool, Shenice!  I use a lot of color in my Immortal Dynasty, but I haven't seen something that gives me the different color options like that.  Thank you!

Here are a few pictures of a couple of gardens I made. Use these as inspiration and ideas for your own gardens.

This is a small walkway/garden I made for the museum I am currently working on.

This is a close up off a cluster of flowers. Started with lavender placed in the middle of the square. Next, using the moveobjects on cheat, place daises on top of the lavender. Finally three dandelions at the three corners facing me. This photo is a good example of the "odd number" rule, I talked about in a previous post.

A park at the same museum.

Same park different angle.

I'll upload a tutorial using the "complementary rule" later. I hope this helps everyone.

Lately I've been experimenting with incorporating spawners into my landscaping specifically for visual effect.

and I gotta say its tricky business!  I wanted to spawn glowy butterflies for the pink garden and it was just not working, lol.  I'm sure glowy's aren't that rare a spawn...  It'd be nice knowing which critters specifically spawn from a "high 1" or an "epic" spawner and the spawn probabilities.  Do we have any guides like that?

Oh, sweet irony, deliver me from coincidence.

Please feel free to utilize any of my builds in any of your stories and so forth.

I think Spawners are just random unless they specifically say what they do.

Hey everyone - one of my sims is in the designer career, and I had my first (and only, so far) landscaping challenge, and I used some of the tips I picked up from this thread for it, so I thought I'd share.

The cluster of flowers around the chair - so much fun :)

Different levels of flowers, plus the landscape paint around the statues, etc.

The whole effect, although I had to move the mailbox before they could actually use it (oops)

While I am great with building the actual house, I am an utter failure when it comes to landscaping.  This thread is nothing short of a godsend.

I'm going to try out a few of the ideas and see what I come up with.  Thanks a lot!
