I got the complete Bayside set, because I owned the Bayside kitchen.  Remember a while back when they gave it away free?  Now I have both the Bayside kitchen and the Bayside bathroom stuff, all for free.

A lot of the other stuff I got for free were sets that I got part of from the treasure chests. And I was super surprised to see I own 1-2 items from 75% of the sets!  I've maybe spent $40 on sims store stuff, so it's interesting to see how much I own from mostly being a weekend freebie shopper.

I ended up getting over 200 additional items for less than 500 points!! Woooo!

This is great. Thanks for the heads up about this.
I just started checking and I got the January 2012 Compilation for free sense I already had 61% of the items in that set. I got 37 free item from that set which included The Cow Plant. :)

I'm so glad a lot of people have been getting some free stuff. Just remember to check each compilation, and then each set of that compilation - if you get a set, then check back with the compilation. If you are persistent you could get more 8)

Ahhhhhh!!!  ;D

My first score was the Island Escape Compilation. I then decided to splurge 65 simpoints on one of the Fiesta sets (discounted from 950 or so). This allowed me to get the April 2012 compilation for free, which in turn allowed me to get the Best of 2012 compilation for free, which includes the Greenhouse with all of its helpful gardening goodness (among other nifty premium content, but I really wanted the Greenhouse)!!!

*ahem* As you can see, I'm rather excited about this development.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! ;D

Is this only available to people in the US? The EA site is forever telling me that the complete your set discount is not available.

It works for me in France so I'd say it's not US only, there are a few things that are not included in the sale though, might depend on what sets you are looking at.

If so it has 'This set is not available for the Complete Your Set discount at this time.' in the info.

Turkosel is right, not all sets are included in this offer, so make sure to read the fine print in the text before clicking any buttons! But it's avaliable everywhere where people can buy stuff from the sims store.

Dek, this is definitely available in Oz.  I completed eleven sets for FREE including most of the 2011 compilations, while three other sets cost only 40 sim points (each) to complete.  But then I had a lot of bits and pieces from those goodie boxes.

Thanks, I tried again, and got some of the compilations. I don't think I was looking at the correct sets first of all.

Something people may wish to keep in mind is that the last three weekends, The Sims 3 Store has offered a couple free items in a given set.  These two items are also part of a small set discounted for the weekend.

Why is this important?

Take this weekend's special.  The Club Vaindenburger Study is on sale for 360 points, 40% off.  Two of its items are also available for free:  the Retronik Lectronik by Phonokronik! and Realtor's Baggage Props!.

If you claim the two free items, then you will find you can get the Club Vaindenburger Study for 210 points, instead of the normal 360 points as those two 'free' items already give you 17% of the set.

Of course, the above will only work between July 26th and July 28th.

A good strategy seems to be to buy most of the premium contend for a given set, then get the rest free. I got all of the best of 2012 compilation for free by owning only the premium content as I recall (Well, I also got the whole Greenhouse, but still)
