Loved the post but I have to ask, did you mean Kanis had grown into a child? Because you wrote Harvel there and that confused me since I knew you were at least past I at that point.

*Phew* for a second the name of your chapter had me worried! I was like "failure? No more Ghasts?! Noooooo."
But Obviously it was another kind of failure.
Anyways, I love Jhinx, I'll be so sad when she ages up. Though I'm glad Zheena has another little one on the way. My big question is - are you still in Isla Paradiso?
If so - HOW?! I can't get past week 3 without massive lag in that town. I don't know how you manage it but I'm glad you do, I love this story! :)
Yep, still in Isla Paradiso.  Fortunately, I'm not having crashing issues.  I may have a little bit of Twallan-based help on that.
I find Jhinx fantastic as well.  I was originally going to have the fourth wall breaking happen through Fabala, but then I made her story more of the sibling rivalry with Everly.

Wow, good catch!  Can't believe I did that, but I've got it fixed now.  I appreciate you having my back on that one  :=)

Ghastly Hallows--A Who's Your Daddy Project, Chapter 43: Hitting Halfway
« Reply #302 on: February 06, 2014, 05:41:55 PM »

Zheena's household had finally gone from overloaded back to manageable.  In fact, there were only two adults and three children.  However, one of those adults was a bit less-than-respectful of his attire in front of the children.

"Dad!" wailed Jhinx.  "For the love of Pete, put some clothes on!"
Alfonso simply replied, "I'm a glorious specimen.  Like a unicorn.  Or something."
"Maybe like a yeti?" suggested Jhinx.
Another daughter was less snarky and more confused.

In the midst of her instruction on politics, Ish asked, "So, you're saying that embezzlement and embarrassment aren't the same thing?"
"Not if you do it correctly," he answered.
But Alfonso was interested in seeing another female.

"Oh, did you come to visit your girl?" asked Carolina.
"Of course," answered Alfonso.

Strange, Carolina's daughter has remarkably similar eyebrows to Alfonso.
"Pippin!"

"Check out the awesome dance party I'm throwing!!"
That's nice, Jhinx.  Now, where were we...?  Oh yes.  Little girls.  Zheena's little girls were getting all grown up and were having children of their own.

Galilaia, wearing a maternity dress favored by her mother, had a lovely young son named Delbert.  Han Palacios is the father.

Cassidy and Harley Greenwood had a little girl.
Alfonso was interested in a different girl.

"Nice to see you again, Alfonso," greeted Cathleen.
"Mind if I come inside?" he asked.
"Of course," she responded with a smile.

And so, Cathleen, Folson's wife, showed Alfonso in so he could visit his granddaughter, Jessica.  She certainly does adore her grandpa.
"Well, he's not really her grandpa."
Yes, Jhinx, we all know that.  Let's just let Alfonso have this one.
Meantime, some very significant things were happening back at the house.  Those events started in Galilaia's greenhouse.

"Hey, look," said Zheena.  "I have another son...made of salad..."
And she named the saladboy Lhasa.  Yep.  Like a dog.  And later that same day...

"I'm a grandma, for crying out loud.  Shouldn't I be done with labor pains?" Zheena complained right before she gave birth to baby number thirteen:  Mahcello.  With this birth, she is officially halfway done.
There was one more significant event that came around for the family.  It started with Jhinx and Ishaveen going to prom.

The girls had a glorious time including Ish admiring everyone's formal attire, though she briefly thought that aliens were going to abduct her because of the lighting.  Jhinx, meantime, got in a fight and was named prom queen.  However, it was what happened on the way home from prom that was really significant.

"Look!!  I'm so sparkly!!" squealed Ishaveen in delight.  And with her makeover finished,

we've got one more space opened up in the house.

Wow, halfway there! You know, Zheena must really be hurting after so many pregnancies. I think this may be the worst challenge for our poor founder sims!

I know, right?  If I had chosen to do an immortal sisters challenge instead, she would have been done two kids ago.  Ah well, I think I'm too stubborn to quit since I've come this far, so I guess she'll just have to accept that we're seeing this through to the end.

Ghastly Hallows--A Who's Your Daddy Project, Chapter 44: Genie Unbottled
« Reply #305 on: February 09, 2014, 07:04:44 PM »

With Zheena having reached the halfway point, the Ghast household was...Jhinx!  What exactly are you up to, young lady?

"I'm sure I have no idea what you mean.  I certainly didn't booby trap the sink for Alfonso again."
Anyway, today was not about clowns playing pranks, but instead, about the graduation of Ishaveen.

"It's so super-sensational that the whole family could be here for me on this fantastic day!" gushed Ishaveen.  However, she slightly miscounted as one member of the household did not, in fact, come to her graduation.

"Come on, Mark Mark," said Zheena, "let's go backstage and cross genie off my list of occult fathers."
After making out for a while, Mark Mark said, "Oh, did I not mention that you have to free me from my lamp before I can father a child?"
"Seriously?!?!"
And thus, grudgingly and bitterly, Zheena undertook all of the challenges involved in freeing 2(Mark).

With all of the tasks completed, Zheena said, "Okay, now that I've frozen and burned my hands and been mauled by zombie bears, what say we head back to my place?"
"And by 'your place' I assume you mean one of your resorts?" the genie replied.

"Of course," she said, "now, what say you help me out with this little challenge?"
"I'll help you in two ways," he answered.  "I'll father the child, who will hopefully be a genie and thereby able to do all sorts of cleaning for you, and I'll also give you some advice."

"Okay..." she responded, sounding less confident.
"Learn to trust again," he said.  "I know that Akoni hurt you and that you've hidden that much more strongly behind your challenge, but you're shutting off a part of yourself.  You'll live forever since you had the age freeze potion.  Why be miserable?"
Zheena didn't respond with words. She simply fell into him weeping.  Then, after other things were tended to, fell asleep in his arms.
While Zheena was ensuring the next baby would arrive in timely fashion, one of the previous babies was making her exit.

"Bye bye, baby 'cello," said Ishaveen.  "Don't forget to grow up, okay?"
With this exit, all of the teen baby-tending duties have been solidly placed on Jhinx' shoulders.

"The saladkid just needs a bit of attention and some naps.  I want one of these kids when I get older."
Speaking of Zheena's kids having kids, she is now up to seven grandchildren.

Abbica and Bret had a daughter named Alma, Folon and Catherine had a daughter named Lakesha, and Galilaia and Hans are having another child...and she's a gloriously lovely firefighter.
"As long as you concede that I'm prettier."
Yes, Jhinx, you're adorable.  And this next scene is absolutely not adorable.

"Gross!"
Correct, Jhinx.  Morning sickness is a gross thing.
"Oh, I meant it's gross that we're going to have more dirty diapers."
Well, the good news is that you're about to have a brief break from diapers.

"Little salad just got super-sized!"
Be nice, Jhinx.

And so, both Lhasa and Mahcello aged up to toddler while being photobombed by Jhinx.
"Hey, the readers need something pretty to look at.  Have you seen how homely my brothers are?"
Anyway, we transitioned quickly into teaching the toddler skills as Zheena likes to age up her kids as soon as possible.

Not sure why Alfonso's being quite so morbid.
However, the birthdays weren't done just yet as the next morning brought a cake for another young Ghast boy.

"Oooo, see?  He's gross.  I should have photobombed these shots."
It's just a momentary age-up glitch.  See?  He gets all better and provides help so that you don't have to do all the childcare.

And so, with two teens lending a hand, Alfonso continually getting soaked by the sink, two "gross" boy toddlers learning skills, and the next child on the way, it seems the second half of this challenge is off to a good start.

You're definitely at a good start! This is awesome! Though the house seems a little more manageable than some of the previous child-filled houses, but I must say at half-way you're still going strong! I still can't help but laugh at poor Alfonso... and maybe there's a new lover for Zheena in the future? Who knows?

Ghastly Hallows--A Who's Your Daddy Project, Chapter 45: O My Goodness
« Reply #307 on: February 17, 2014, 06:41:57 PM »

Back at the Ghast household, steps were being taken to get the toddlers aged up.
"Steps, Pippin?  Are we sinking to bad puns now?"

Sinking to?  That's kind of my go-to move!  Anyway, the toddler training continues, under the observation of the aged-up stalkarazzo.

He's just so creepy!

But at any rate, we eventually had toddlers who could walk and talk.  They even had some delightful chats.

"So you see," Lhasa continued, "I'm actually more closely related to a veggie tray than to this family."
"Blocks fun!" Mahcello replied.

"Hey, Pippin!  Look at me!!"

Wow, you've got an interesting hula-hoop look going there.
Oh, hold on.  I think your mom's calling me.

Yep.  Definitely calling.

"Hello, creepy genie-baby!" said the new mom.  "I think I'll name you Navine."
So, Zheena is now up to 14 children and 7 grandkids.

There might be more on the way before too long.  In fact, two more have arrived thanks to Galilaia and Hans.

She looks pretty good considering she just gave birth to twin girls.
"I have more nieces to admire me and try to imitate me in every way?"
Umm, sure, Jhinx.  These two are named Jessica and Karrie.
Those two dears are lovely, but two other children were more focal at the moment.

The boys who arrived as unintentional twins aged up...and I seem to have forgotten to have taken a shot of Mahcello post-makeover.  Not quite sure how that happened.
"Maybe you were distracted by what mom was up to?"
Yes.  That's a good excuse.  Let's go with that.

Yes.  here she is with...random old guy...whose name I've forgotten, but he's in the music career track and has celebrity star power, so he'll help check some boxes off on the list.
Alfonso, of course, is having his own rendez-vous.  Rendez-vouses.  The plural of rendez-vous.

"Look, the ditzy one caught him in the act."
Yes, Jhinx.  Your sister Ish saw him as did Alexa Peralta, who used to be the girlfriend of both Everly and Fabala, then was just with Everly, than dumped her for Brynhildr, and now...

she's a zombie.
"Pretty sure there's a moral lesson in there somewhere."
At any rate, it was not long before the challenge kept moving forward.

"Time to start thinking of O names?"
It is time, indeed.

On a lovely day in Isla Paradiso, Folson's children were out for a walk with their mother,

when they passed two of their uncles learning how to fish.

They aren't doing a terrible job.
"I won't plan on having seafood for dinner tonight."
Good plan, Jhinx.  However, leftover birthday cake may be on the menu.

"Put some clothes on, Alfonso!" cried Jhinx, in continued disgust at her stepfather's continual state of undress.
Meantime, baby Navine became toddler Navine and immediately began learning her skills...quite quickly since she's a genius.

And Saladboy is smart enough to work on securing a best friend, and thereby, possibly securing an early age-up if he can make honor roll.

While Zheena was getting some rest, a stalker paparazzo decided to hang out in her bedroom...and go gently into that good night.

And this brought another handsome man to visit...but Zheena was already pregnant and no mods were in place to enable Grim woohoo.
"Quite a shame.  I so wanted an undead brother."
I see you've picked up sarcasm as a second language.

Yes, this is a shot of Mahcello going for a swim in his outerwear...because he's insane.
While he gets insane as a defining trait, Navine's genius trait meant she had learned her toddler skills in no time.

Which meant an early age up.

And this meant that Zheena was getting even further into the challenge.

She named him Orisis.
"Well, while you were watching mommy dearest pop out another one, I was giving my youngest sister fashion advice."

Nice job, Jhinx!  She looks adorable.
"Yep, and she makes household chores easy."

And as an added footnote, the family will be moving as the game crashes continually at this point and it took restarting the game 5 times just to get through the morning in which Navine aged up and Orisis was born.
"So, I get to have my birthday in a new town?"
Yep.  Happy birthday.
"Thanks!"

Wow, welcome Orisis! Alfonso is starting to be recognized in my head as the guy who never wears a shirt... or pants for that matter. That might have to be alleviated if they move someplace less tropical. Sorry to hear about your crashing, hopefully a move will freshen things up. :)
Also, Folson's daughter is adorable, completely adorable.

Super-sizing the salad boy. Cute. Mean, but also cute.  :P

I bet Navine's genie gifts will come in handy. I bet this household is just crazy to play right now!

I'm hoping the move will help too.  I stop to save all the time and still have to deal with crashes  and restarting, so it's really making the file less enjoyable.
Yes, Alfonso seems to think he's an underwear model.
Agreed!!  Folson's daughter (Jessica, I think?) is adorable!!  She just wandered into the scene and I had to take a screenie.

Technically, she's just a bit past halfway even.  15 babies down, only 11 more to go!

Where are they going to move? Something cooler after the warmth, maybe?
I'm not 100% sure where I'll move them.  I'll look over Zheena's list of remaining daddy-types needed and choose a place that can best offer the chance to complete it.  Or else I'll just pick a place because I want them to go there  ;=)

Yep, the Saladboy.  Jhinx is amusingly snarky.  I like that about her.  I'm making the family move before she ages up (as the birth of Orisis, the age-up of Navine, and Jhinx' birthday all fell on the same day) so that she can be in the new town with them even after she moves out.  I'll probably have her visit the house a decent amount.  She's been a really fun character.

Go gently in that good night... isn't that from the first line of a poem by Dylan Thomas?
