Aww!  Bye Loki!  *sniff sniff*  I loved the fact that the red dragon's name is Smaug lol  And of course it would be Loki that would give it as a gift so Legolas would remember him by it.

Aw, poor Loki... he shall be missed.

And thank goodness Raina decided to "Take the Hint!"
So, you're doing riding as a supermax for Luna, right? Or is that just for fun? If so, do you have any pointers?

Still haven't found Raina's urn or tombstone yet...Loki was a lot of fun, I miss him still.

I've never finished riding as a supermax in a dynasty, but I know it can be done, so I'm doing my best!  (The last two times crashed and burned so bad!)  So far, the tips I have are, start your rider early, get them up to level 10 asap.  Unicorns are the way to go, but if you don't want to do it that way, train a young horse just as hard as the rider.  Stack up the mood buffs on both the horse and rider before the dreaded International Cross Country race, the higher they are the better the chances.  There's a great post on the mechanics of the races stickied in the Pets Section.

Wish me luck!

My fingers, toes, and any other body part that can cross are crossed for you to succeed! I believe in you (I don't know if that helps, but, you know, motivation and stuff)! Also, those races aren't too bad, there's a thread on this forum that goes into horse breeding/ranching but she went really in-depth on the racing part of it... erm... let me find it in case you need it (not that you haven't seen it already): http://www.carls-sims-3-guide.com/forum/index.php/topic,7297.msg151720.html#msg151720
The whole thread is useful, but I tried to get the message where she talked about the competition parts.

Maybe that will help? I dunno, you seem to have your research already, but I thought I would try to throw in what I've seen. :)

Thanks for the help, Livvie, it's very appreciated!   ;D  Luna's got the three internationals done, (happy dance), and I tell ya, I stacked those buffs like crazy, used the Take Risks for 3 quarters of the race and then Go For Broke.  Plus she was riding Dubstep.  That's always been the part that messed me up before, back in one of the early Fellowship attempts, Merry and the horse were so old that Grim came for them both right after the race!

Chapter Thirty-Six - No Brain, No Heart, He's Much Too Shy.

After Loki's death, the family grieved for as long as it took Gytha to pull the moodlet manager out of her purse.  Boxer's sale and Luna's big win put her at the top of the Horsewoman career, and it was time to tend to a few other Dynasty needs.

"It's time to go get him," Luna said.  "He's looking forward to getting started on his new life, and there's a lot for him to do."

"Who, exactly," Legolas asked, from behind the fortress he was building in the living room out of pillows.  Smaug had slipped away from Luna earlier that day.  The elf had been panicking stealthily as only the elves can, since his archery wasn't up to scratch yet.

"The Tin Man, of course," Gytha chided him.  "You really should pay attention to these things, my lad."

"Hold up, what Tin Man?" Tia asked.  "There's no Tin Man in Sunset Valley."

"Even I feel badly for the poor fellow," Jareth said, running a hand over his hair.  "He's been through so many incarnations, films, books, tv miniseries, that he hardly knows who he is any longer."

"But he's not here," Tia pointed out.

"That's who Luna has decided on," Jareth said, raising an eyebrow.  "Is there a problem?"

"Yes, how are you getting him here?" Tia snarked back.  "And what does Sarah say about all this?  I haven't gotten an email or anything about this."

"Told ya it needed to be in writin'," Gytha said, digging through her bag again.  She pulled out what looked like a very used paper towel with some scribbles on it.  "Says right here, we can do what ever we needs to, to bring Luna's young man over."

"I've got rules I've got to play by, too," Tia protested.  "Why can't you guys ever just play like a normal Dynasty family?"

"Where's the fun in that?" Gytha smiled.

"This is all beside the point, which is, we can do this without your help."  Jareth stormed.  "Luna has made her choice.  There will be no more discussion."

"You'll like him, Tia," Luna said.  "He's just as gloomy as you are some days."

"Great, you're all bringing Eeyore into the mess."  Tia threw up her hands.  "Luna, honey, if this is what you want, go get the boy."

"Oh, man," Tia moaned, as Gytha started her spells.  "That's not the Tin Man, that's..."

"Trust us!" Jareth snapped.  "We've got this under control."

"No Zombies!  NO ZOMBIES!"  Tia shrieked.

"Relax," Gytha said, firing up another spell.

"Thank you, Luna, Gytha," said the voice of the Tragic Clown.  Jareth began playing romantic music, just to make the scene a little more ludicrous.

"I'm so glad you're here," Luna said.  "It's been so sad, having to leave you here when the sun came up."

"Listen, are you sure that's the Tin Man?" Tia asked nervously.  "I mean, we'll move him and all, but his name is going to read Tragic Clown Bunch, and I'm not having that.  It's too close to Insane Clown Posse."  She shuddered, as Luna, looking into his eyes, nodded.  Tia sighed.  "Welcome to the madness that is our Dynasty, Rusty."

"Rusty?" the Tin Man asked, raising a garishly painted eyebrow.

"Yep.  Now, home and makeover.  Now!"

Rusty and Luna were just as loving and demonstrative as Gytha and Arlo had been.

"Brings a tear to my eye, it does," Gytha said, wiping hers with her sleeve.  "Legolas, fire up that red beastie and make us a cuppa!" she called.

"ARGLEBARG!" came from behind the fridge.

"He's making me cry, alright," Tia muttered.  "You, Rusty Romeo, mirror, now!"

"Dude, don't you ever smile?" Tia asked him.

"I am smiling.  This is the happiest day of my life!  I love Luna with all my heart, y'know." he replied.

Jareth took the opportunity to fix himself up a bit.

"This feels somewhat familiar," he told Tia.  "But where are the spiders?"

"If you get the urge to go to Mars, suppress it, Goblin King."

The goblins called a meeting with Dubstep.

"The Boss is in a great mood!" Peggy the Dark told the unicorn.  "He's even got some new songs!"

"Yes, I've heard him," Dubstep replied.  "I want to remix a couple.  Luna is so happy with Rusty around that I've got a few days off from the track.  Wonder what's up?"

The title of this chapter and the nickname Rusty both come from the 60's cartoon series, the opening theme is here if you're interested.

TRAGIIIIC! It's so good to see him again. I love that sim. His babies are gorgeous (heh, well, I'm very, veeerrry biased). Luna, I wholeheartedly approve. Double-y approve.

Also, I love the Gytha seems to pull the rag over your eyes there, Tia. The writing is creative, and it always has me laughing! Gytha's still my favorite at this point, but Luna's spouse may make me change my mind. Also, if you need to tie the knot between those two, traveling is the only way I've found to do it. :) Woohoo Luna and a baby to boot!

Lol!! This is officially my favorite part of the dynasty.
Also-you're mixing Arlo's genes with Tragic's?! Are you mad, woman?!

Here's for an heir that looks like Tragic! We gotta try to breed out the Bunch nose somehow. :P

Oh, my, the recap was so funny. Please tell me you'll be doing that more often because it was amazing. I love luna's look and I love how jareth has reincarnated into the beautiful David Bowie he really is. Cheering you on!

Ah, such an update!  Don't even know where to focus my feedback.  I think perhaps my favorite part is the irony of Raina just disappearing despite the memorial garden in her honor.  And Luna.  She's glorious.

Glad you approve Livvie, I thought you might, lol!  Also happy to keep you laughing.  One day I'm going to have a rummage through Gytha's purse...

Thanks, Shewolf!  I'm really trying to keep it interesting with the spouses.

We should open up a betting pool on the Bunch nose.  I know where my money's going, lol.  And they haven't just found your Immortals philosophy, they've been taking notes!

@ Trip - Arlo nose and Tragic lips might be a fun combo though. :P

I really wanted his eyes, more than anything.  Legolas has such tiny ones... ;)

Oh, my, the recap was so funny. Please tell me you'll be doing that more often because it was amazing. I love luna's look and I love how jareth has reincarnated into the beautiful David Bowie he really is. Cheering you on!

I may do another recap later on, I'm so happy you liked it.  All credit for Jareth looking like Davy must go to my girls, Gwendy and NotGwendy for building him for me.  And Hazelnut reminded me a while back that according to who Jareth was played by, it makes sense that he would change his look every so often.

Ah, such an update!  Don't even know where to focus my feedback.  I think perhaps my favorite part is the irony of Raina just disappearing despite the memorial garden in her honor.  And Luna.  She's glorious.

She's still missing, Pip.  And Luna is amazing to play, all the others I can sort of push through what I want them to do, but she just takes her sweet time and does things her way.  I always imagine her speaking in that soft voice with the Irish lilt that Evanna Lynch used.

Chapter Thirty-Seven - Luna Lovegood and the New Baby

"So when the baby comes, Gytha, I need you to be there, to keep Erik from getting upset."  Luna said.

"At least the elf's got a new hobby," Gytha replied.  "That should keep him out of the way."

"Oh, yes, the vaunted grace of the elves," Jareth said, coming up to the ladies.

"Jareth, will you take another picture with me for the baby's album?" Luna asked, pulling out her phone.

Gytha sighed and went to bandage Legolas up again.

The night the baby was due started out very relaxed.  Gytha made everyone dinner, and Luna finished reading the pregnancy book.

Then she and Rusty spent some time together looking at the stars and making plans.

"So you know who the baby is?" Rusty asked her.

"Oh, yes, I had a call from Sarah.  There's been another change in the schedule," she told him.

"Does Jareth know yet?" he asked.

"I don't think so.  But I don't think he'll mind too much."

"When did Sarah take over the schedule anyway?" Rusty asked, puzzled.  "I thought that was worked out at the beginning of the Dynasty."

"Sarah always planned to take over," Tia muttered.  "I just didn't find out about it until it was too late."

Meanwhile, in another corner of the yard...

"You can gather treasure every hour, Tueth," Legolas complained.  "What do you mean there's no firestone?"

Firestone is not native to this 'verse, L'glas.  Tueth sounded sad.  "Ramoth says it is because there is no Thread to fight."

And then the inevitable happened.

Luna went into labour with both Erik and Legolas in attendance.  Their screams brought Gytha running.

"Thank goodness," Luna told her.  "The baby is coming and all this noise is making me a little nervous." Luna said.

Gytha shook her head at the men.  "Out you get, go do something useful.  I think Jareth is playin' that song again, go play with him,"

And a few moments later...

The newest member of the household had arrived.

"It's not James," Luna told Jareth, as she brought the baby out to show them.  "It's Henry."

"Henry?" Erik raised an eyebrow.  The baby scowled and waved his hands at him.

"He doesn't like his name, though, he uses his nickname." Luna continued.

"It's not Harry, is it?"  Legolas asked, cooing over the infant.

"That wizard fellow in the basement?" Jareth asked, frowning.  "He always runs when he sees me."

"Or that boy with the glasses, what's his name, Potter?"  Erik asked.

"Use your eyes, the lot of ye," Gytha muttered, taking the baby.  "It's Indiana of course.  Nice to see you again, Dr Jones."
