What does examine shark mean ?

My sims is scuba diving with a mersim and doing nothing so the mersim can lead her to the island.

Which isn't working. It's my second time doing this.

And all of a sudden it says examine shark on her queue. Is that bad? Will she be eaten?

I do not want that to happen.

Does she have a lot of fish in her bags? Yes she will be attacked but it's unlikely that she'll die.  You can always save right now and then see what happens.

This happened with my Sim and she was attacked by the shark, but she defeated it and there were no problems.

If you are swimming alone you get an option to "Watch Shark" which usually leads to a warm wetsuit and a battle with the shark where you take some damage.  "Examine Shark" has only happened to me when I was swimming with a merman/mermaid.  Result is STILL a battle with the shark but you usually wind up winning with no damage taken.  Anyway that has been my experience with it.  You get a message that ends with , "Way to go, Champ!"  lol  Merfolk don't get attacked by sharks and if you are swimming with them you can have a friendly conversation where you "Talk about sharks" but I'm not sure if this would prevent the attack.
