Buildaholic

Hi I'm Witchy and I'm a Buildaholic. Lol. Ok so new to the forum, not the site or the game. I'm an obsessive builder, I have a really hard time getting into the actual sims, I do try. I just got supernatural, I don't have ALL the expansions yet... yet.. but I have quite a few. So the 'newest' build project I'm starting today is a Fairy Tree House. I've been sketching the ideas today on my breaks at work, and whenever else I got a chance.. Buildaholic... lol. I do plan on entering the build challenges when theres one that I can actually do. The current one I do not have the expansion for yet *Sob*.

So reccomendations for my fairy tree house? I'll figure out how to post pics as I go, if I remember to take a break.

Just so you know you don't need any particular EP to join the building contest.  There is lots of stuff that would look good in a mermaid house in Showtime or Seasons, for example.  And while for sure it's lots easier to decorate when you have more stuff available, I have seen people build great houses for all kinds of themes from just the base game stuff.  It's all about how creative you can be with what you have, not how many EPs you've bought. :)

Very true. But I'd rather have a full arsenal. I don't have many of the newer ones. The newest I have is supernatural. I don't have Showtime or Seasons yet.

Don't worry about that! I usually try to limit myself to one or none EPs! It's a nice challenge. For the mermaid challenge you could find good stuff in any of the eps. You can approach it in any way you wish. Just play around a little until you get struck my inspiration.

Don't worry about not having an Expansion. We don't require you to have any expansions at all, sure it makes it easier to have a full arsenal of content but it's not the content that matters it is what you do with it. ;) All Contests are Base Game compatible, with a few modifications. If that sort of information is required then we will give you a way to take part even if you lack one of the features. :)

As Swirl-Girl says the Mermaid Cove challenge does not require Island Paradise. If I'm honest very little of that content is designed for a mermaid at all. There is plenty of stuff you can use from the Base Game and EPs you do have, for this Contest you only need a coastal themed house with plenty of water around. The specifications do not ask for anything from Island Paradise.

Thanks everyone! My internet decided it no longer liked me for a while there. Silly cable companys want money every month. Le sigh. Well the treehouse didnt look like i imagined it would so it got scrapped. Maybe some other time. Right now its just a pain trying to build a house because my game keeps crashing. Ever since i got Pets it keeps dying on me. :-( the last two houses were barely floorplans before they crashed. The second at least got saved after the roof got put on. So annoying. Well if i can manage to complete it, ill post a couple pics. This one has a patially outdoors kitchen. One wall is just a half wall. Its almost castely. Lol. Hopefully i can because redoing the same things over and over gets old real quick.
