Game is stuck but the task manager says it's still running
« on: June 29, 2013, 03:33:43 AM »
I installed University Life about two weeks ago and last night I downloaded Dragon Valley. I sent my sim to university for two terms and I just finished my final exams then all of a sudden when my sim was reading the game became stuck at 11:59pm. The the little sims icon about my sim is still moving and the trees are moving and even the sound is still playing. But I can't do anything. I'm using my laptop which is windows 7 and has the best graphics and whatnot for hp. This has never happened to me before for this long. It's been like this for at least an hour.

From what you've said, I'd suggest turning off the game on task manager. When did you last save the game? You may have just been playing it for too long - perhaps your laptop overheated. If I were you, I'd turn the game off, give the computer a little break, then play again, but save often. If it keeps happening (freezing) - there's lots of threads about things to try to fix it in the Technical Help section, and we can help too.

I've experienced this sort of thing before. Sometimes I leave it running for a bit and it sorts itself out or else I have to close it manually. I also try pressing the P key to make the game pause and eventually it comes up - I assume the game just overloads itself occasionally or something.

I'm moving this to the Tech Help board as it's not specifically a University Life issue.
