Houseboat + boat?

I got a pop up saying I could purchase a boat from a community lot and thus wouldn't have to place mooring on the already limited space on my houseboat, though I'm not sure where or how to do that.

How are you guys combining house boat ownership with transport boat ownership?

My sim lives on a houseboat and she purchased an aqua sled and a wind surfing one . They just went in her inventory .  :)

When you see mooring post by the ocean edge , just click on it and it will give you options .  :)
