Chapter 46 -Outdoor fun with Lacie

As you may have noticed by now, I took far too many pictures of Lacie as a toddler but you must understand. The toddler years are golden. With a child as sweet as Lacie we couldn't let the opportunity to nourish her early years slip away.

The oldies were feeling a bit cooped up in our house. The sun was blazing down on the valley and the temperature outside was soaring. Best of all, it was leisure day and they took the opportunity to escape to the great outdoors to enjoy the weather. Personally, I hate being outside so I stayed at home and worked on my writing and charisma for work. Dad and Maxwell stayed home too. Henry is over 90 now and we want him to stay at home so he doesn't die elsewhere.

Grandma Heidi, Grandma Alecia and Mum took Lacie out for her first major outing (With the exception of our regular library trips). They started off the day with a trip to Stoney Falls, one of the lots purchased for our requirements.

Alecia went fishing for the first time since becoming immortal.

It must have been an excellent feeling to do what she loved most of all without the stress of having to make money in time to become immortal.

Meanwhile, Grandma Heidi and Mum were playing on the playground equipment like little seven year olds.

They said it was so much fun there but there wasn't much for Lacie to do, at least not with the family. So, they hopped into the car and drove on down to Old Pier Beach, Mum's property.

While Grandma Heidi and Grandma Alecia relaxed under the summer sunshine, Mum took her grandchild down to the ocean to get her first taste of the ocean.

Lacie seemed right at home on the water and smiled the whole time, apparently.

Mum seemed to be enjoying herself too. She really loves the sea air and being with Lacie, I mean, who wouldn't?!

When they got home, I took Lacie out for a short walk around Summerhill Springs. Even after such a long, fun filled day out, she was still smiling her contagious smile.

Unfortunately, by the end of the day all the excitement was starting to take it's toll on Lacie.

Alecia was the one who put her to bed.

GLITCH ALERT!

It's nice to see that all of the ladies had fun, though.

It really made me jump but it was very amusing. You saw this so fast, you posted 1 minute 52 seconds after me! That was quick!

Chapter 47 - Too Many Birthdays

Hey everyone! It has been a busy few days in the Jewel household, with everyone who is not yet an elder celebrating their birthdays.

The day after Leisure day was Maxwell's birthday. We were all so busy skilling up, working and entertaining Lacie that everyone forgot, including Maxwell himself!

He aged up alone in the downstairs bathroom with only a shower, a toilet, a sink and a mirror for company.

Why does the game always change hairstyles and outerwear when someone ages to an adult? With a quick trip to the mirror that watched him age up, he was back to normal.

The next morning it was my turn to become middle aged. Because I'm better than Maxwell, I got a cake and a celebration with the whole family!

For some reason, Mum thought her breakfast was more exciting than her own daughter's birthday. Each to their own.

Agh! That hairstyle is hideous! And I look old!

Later in the day, it was finally Lacie's turn to age up. Grandma Heidi took her to the cake.

Lacie didn't need any help with the candles, she's so independent.

Heidi placed her on the floor and Lacie did the classic toddler cross-eye face. Why do they do that? It's ridiculous!

She did a funny toddler twirly thing...

...And aged up into a lovely girl with a hideous hair cut.

Once again, nothing a trip to the mirror and dresser can't fix. Seriously, what did sims do before they were invented?

Lacie gained the Lucky trait to go with Loves the Outdoors and Athletic. She's going to be a very talented sportswoman someday. But for now, we must enjoy her childhood innocence while she's still got it.

You might have noticed that my chapter titles aren't quite as good as the could be. I'm running out of ideas already, so if you have any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated. I know you don't really know what will happen next but maybe titles for birthday chapters, skilling chapters and cute toddler chapters. Those are the chapters that pop up a lot and I find hard to name. Thanks!

Nooo, Lacie is not a cute toddler anymore :( I really enjoyed adorable toddler chapters, hopefully there'll be some adorable child chapters. How about Sparkle Attack and Toddeling Around for chapter names, those are just the first that came to mind. But I believe you'll come up with something better at some point :D

Don't worry, the chapters lined up might not be quite as cute but there is still a lot going on. Thanks for the names, I really quite like those!

Chapter 48 - Laughs with Lacie

Now that Lacie is a child, she is (Obviously) quite a bit bigger than when she was a little nooboo. Despite the slight lack of cuteness in the house, we sure do laugh a lot! Lacie is such a hilarious child. She loves being active and playing outside 24/7.

One of her favourite games to play is frisbee. For the first few games, she had some quite amusing fails! Of course, I don't mean to laugh at her...

INCOMING!

She did catch the frisbee...

...briefly, but she still caught it!

Sometimes we send her over the road to the park while everyone else is busy. She spends most of her time flying around on the trampoline, she really seems to enjoy herself when she's on there.

She also enjoys dance.

Hmm, nice try but there are so many technical problems. She needs her shoulders down, legs straight, arm in fifth long...

Now THAT'S more like it!

When she's not being active, Lacie is being fussed over by her lovely relatives. She absolutely adores it when they coo over her!

Okay maybe not.

But Grandma Heidi definitely does!

As I have said before, she must be scarred for life.

I must go now but I will leave you with two beautiful images of Lacie after eating spicy food for the first time!

Finally able to caught up with the story. Was out from the forum for 2 weeks. And delighted to see 3 new chapters.
Chapter 46: I think I have seen the last photo(tall Lacie standing on the crib) on weird/fun thread on my mobile. But it really scares me when I see it on my computer.
Chapter 47: Oh, that hideous hairstyle and outfit. Lacie looks adorable after the makover. Now ready for some exercises. And my suggestion for skill chapters: 'Run Lacie Run' and 'The Iron Lacie'.
Chapter 48: Hilarious to see the funny and angry faces of Lacie when her Grandma Heidi picks on her. I think she will become a great sportswoman. Good luck to her.
Looking forward for more exciting update.

Yeah, it was on that thread as well. I completely forgot about that photo until I was sorting out the screenshots and thought it was too odd to miss!

Lacie does look very sweet in everything she wears, even in my game when she's a teen! I find it annoying that while children can do a lot of the exercises and can build skills challenges, they can't level up athletic skill until they're teens. They can't even get that few levels head start like toddlers can get when they practice particular skills! Also, I love those chapter names!

I love watching elders pinch children's cheeks, their faces are so hilarious!

I've probably already said this a few chapters back but there will be lots of updates from not until 3rd September because it's the summer holidays ( ;D )and I've got loads of simming and writing time. I go back to school on 4th September, just in time for Sims 4 but in the meantime, there's going to be a whole bucket load of chapters.

Chapter 49 - The World's Dumbest Policewoman

Finally I am getting somewhere with my Journalism career. I am currently an investigative reporter and getting promotions every two work days. No worries there so far (Touch wood for good luck!)!

Meanwhile, Lacie is already getting into shape for her future career. Every morning and evening she's there in front of the TV doing star jumps, squats stretches, you name it!

Too bad she isn't getting any better. I think it's because of her age, she's too young really to begin her training but she is very committed and determined to reach her goals and do our family proud!

One night at the height of autumn, we had an unwelcome visitor.

Meet burglar number 5,897,361 or something like that (We haven't told you about so many!). Of course, the burglar alarm auto-dialled the police for us. Unfortunately, it seems that only the dumbest were on shift that night.

Is it not in the basic training that you must OPEN the door to get inside?

Obviously not. [resetsim Miss Policewoman]

This meant that it was up to us to capture the runaway burglar.

Before we knew it, Maxwell had found himself on the other side of town, stranded all alone next to the road.

It was almost dawn by the time he returned home, exhausted from lack of sleep.

So, it was quite an eventful life. My elder birthday is approaching fast now and the pressure is on. However, can you believe that between us, my family has updated you almost 50 times! Next time, join us for a celebratory trip to remember!

Re: The Jewel Immortal Dynasty - I've hit a problem...
« Reply #267 on: August 13, 2014, 05:58:33 AM »
Hey everyone! I just wanted to let you know that I have hit a problem. I don't know whether it is major but I don't think it is quite dynasty ending. The Jewels have been hit by an ageing bug of some kind. Basically, the game seems to loose count of where the file is. For example, it didn't mark the Thursday as Love Day when my settings (Which haven't been changed one bit since this story began last year) say that it should always be ona Thursday with the seven day seasons. Also, Maxwell is meant to age up on that day but the game says he's still got another day. It's also messing up Henry's age. The game says he's 113 days old (Yes, he's still alive!) but I think he should be 155. I've got permission to return to a previous save but I'm not sure what good it will do. I've got a save from about 10 in-game days ago (Lacie still a child) and one from 3 or 4. I will try but I thought you should know. Because of this,  there won't be an update until I have solved the problem (Or been given permission to count instead of relying on the game).

Chapter 50 - Camping!

Hey everyone, it's Lacie, Lonie's sweet, adorable, cute, amazing, fabulous, talented, beautiful little girl! Mummy said that because this is the fiftieth update, I should have a go at telling the story. So, as I have already said, my name is Lacie and I am the fifth immortal-to-be. This makes me a very special little girl because I am going to live longer than all of my friends and non-immortal family. My dream is to become an amazing sports person and win lots and lots of medals.

Ever since I was little, I have wanted to go camping with Mummy, Daddy, Grandma Patricia, Grandad Henry, Grandma Alecia and Grandma Heidi. So, to celebrate our achievement and to give us all a break from the stress of trying to live forever, we decided to pack our bags and head down to Stoney Falls, one of our owned lots in Sunset Valley. It was a wednesday evening, the day before spooky day so it seemed the perfect time to get away.

When we got there, the first thing I did was play in the park. What is the point of having a climbing thing if I can't play on it?

I pretended to be a wilderness explorer, on the look out for dangerous beasts that could eat us! Suddenly, I saw something move down below me...

I slid down the pole and crept towards the rest of the family.
"Don't move a muscle!" I said bravely. "Dangerous creatures like that can sense fear from a mile away!"

"Grandma Heidi, stop taking and listen to me!"
"Lacie," she whispered to me. "It's just a deer. It wouldn't hurt a fly."

Oops. Since I failed at being a brave adventurer, I decided to try skipping some stones on the lake.

It's really difficult and frus...frus... oh how do you pronounce it? Frushrafing? No... Frus-tra-ting. Frustrating. I got so angry with myself!

While I failed at another activity, Grandma Patricia and Grandad Henry spent some quality time together. Old people love is so icky! Icky, icky, icky!

They said they were "Watching the stars". To me it looked more like staring at a very big rock.

After a spot-o-dinner, it was time for sleepy-byes. We crammed seven sleeping bags onto the little island thingy on the lake. It was a bit tight, but we all fit and had quite a cosy night.

I felt snug as a bug in my sleeping bag! It was so warm and I had a great night's sleep.

Even Mummy had a good time, and she hates being outside! Although, on second thought, maybe she was just doing that to make me happy... *Sign* Mothers, hey?

In the morning, Grandad Henry, Mummy and Daddy all went home. Mummy needed to work on her writing, Daddy needed to work on his sculpting and Grandad needed to finish off a painting. So, I was left all alone with three slightly annoying grandmas.

See?

They did play tag with me, however, which was nice of them.

Grandma Heidi hit her head on a rock while out of breath. Ouch! I don't know how she missed it. It was far to big to just not see!

Catch me if you can, Grandma!

I had the best night of my life so far. I sleet beneath the stars, I played with my family, I got in touch with nature. I really do love outings and I hope to do loads more as I grow up on my journey to immortality!

Aww, Lacie is such a sweetheart. Poor Heidi, but it's no surprise that she missed the rock at her age
