When in doubt, rollerskating! Lonie raises a good question about the importance of family, though. And Heidi's back-story was really dramatic and well-done. :)

I love sending the sims skating, it's so funny to watch! I wanted Lonie to seem in some ways more innocent and in others wiser than the previous Jewel children. I think I achieved that with her questioning about family. Thanks, I wrote that after I realised she'd never given a reason for starting the dynasty and I wanted to make it as dramatic as possible!

Thanks Doxxie, it's really encouraging to know how much you like this story.

I've got a few chapters screenshotted but I don't know when the next chapter will be up. I'm hoping it will be tomorrow but you all know how bad I am at updating when I say I will! :P

Thanks, I really enjoyed writing the interludes too. I'll throw some more in some day, especially while barely anything is happening!

Thanks! I love the girls too, except maybe Lonie's hair colour. I'm determined to stick with it though - it's part of her! You're in luck with the update, I'm going to start writing now but I have to get up and go to music soon so I doubt I will be finished!

Thanks, people seem to really like the pictures!

Sorry I haven't updated this for so long. I kind run out of ideas for a while and wasn't really active on the forum. However, I am back now and I have a week off school ahead of me so I hope to post a couple of chapters to get you guys up to date.

Chapter 36 - Time for Teens

Hello! I haven't really spoken about my life in a while but I feel I now have plenty to talk about. Time really flies when you're raising a child and Lonie is now a teenager.

I will miss having a little baby in the house. I'm really dreading her teenage years - mood swings, boyfriends, arguments, boyfriends...

...HIDEOUS hairdo's! Well, at least she has hair. I immediately sent her over to the mirror to correct the atrocity on her head.

I was so glad she stuck with her original look. It really suits her. I also sent her to the dresser to... dress.

Of Course, no birthday is complete without some kind of event...

Yes, he stole a car! It was brand new as well. We built a 4 car garage after that. We can't risk another robbery!

The following day, Lonie began the morning by posing for a sculpture. She called it "Eureka".

Once she had finished Eureka-ing, she took a cab down to Central Park to meet "friends".

Boyfriend? NO!!!

Summertime

Right, we have no time to waste today. I'm going to jump straight in and say it. You know that boy we caught a glimpse of last time, the one Lonie tried to kiss, Lonie told me today they are officially "In a relationship"! They even went to prom together and got voted prom King and Queen!

It's outrageous that a fourteen year old girl would go to prom, have her first kiss and get voted prom Queen on the same night. She's just a baby girl! Well, she would beg to differ. She would be all "I'm an adult now, I'm too old to be babied anymore, blah, blah blah!" I knew her teens would be hard, but not this bad.

Despite the tension between Lonie and I, Grandma Heidi suggested we got outside and enjoyed ourselves being together as a family. The day started with a water fight: Henry and Heidi vs Mum (Alecia) and Dad (Dante).

I wasn't really sure who to support but Mum and Dad won! Next stop; Central Park.

It was really busy down there with everyone celebrating the final day of summer, so we didn't stay long.

While Grandma Heidi and Mum played a bit of football, Henry and I decided to practise skating together. It was going well at first...

But, of course, we had to loose our balance.

INCOMING!

Luckily, no one was badly injured so we got off the rink and head to the beach. Heidi, Alecia, Dante and Lonie hit the waves while Henry and I worked on our tans.

Look at those guys go! They own the beach (Literally!)

As the sun started to sink below the waves, everyone dried off and watched the sunset.

It really was one of those moments when you realise just how special family time is. Unfortunately, just before the marshmallow roasting began, the heavens opened.

A slightly soggy ending to a wonderful summers day.

Chapter 37 - We say goodbye

When someone dies, it is always a very sad day. It's one of those times when there is no shame in shedding a few tears. However, the saddest day is when someone very close to you passes. My father Dante has just left us at the ripe old age of 99.

He was just about to do his share of the cleaning when he was surrounded by sparkles for the final time. He didn't seem to mind; he had been living on borrowed time for days now.

Grandma Heidi, Mum and I ran in to see what was going on. The look of shock on Mum's face was just heartbreaking. She wiped a tear from her eye and tried to touch Dad. Her hand went straight through his cold, colourless aura.

I just cried. What else could I do? I was helpless now; we had to leave everything between Dad and Grim.

Grim towered over Dad, but he didn't seem to care. Dad seemed happy now, happy that his time had come.

He took Grim's hand and went off gracefully and gratefully.

Lonie was in her study at the end of the garden at the time. I wasn't sure how I would tell her that her Grandfather had died. I decided all I could do was got in there and get it over and done with. I put my brave face on.

"Lonie, I need to speak to you."

"If it's about Maxwell-" she replied in a typical teenage tone.

"It's about your grandad."

She was silent. She stood up and walked over to me.

"Sweetheart, your grandad j-j-j-just d-d-d-died." I couldn't keep it together no matter how hard I tried.

"What? He-he died?"

I nodded. I couldn't bare to speak another word. I pulled her in for a hug.

I managed one more sentence.

"Promise you'll be brave?"

"I promise," she replied sounding much more like the little girl I know and love.

I left her alone. As I was walking back, I heard her again, this time, she was crying.

Rest in peace, Dante Jewel. You did so much for us.

Thanks, that was what I was aiming for. I felt very sad after writing that. Dante's been gone awhile in game and I still miss him, often mixing him up with Henry.

I want to do another chapter today. I'm looking forward to the next chapter, it's very happy and action packed.  :D

Chapter 39 - All Grown Up (Sort Of)

We start this chapter with the best day of the year - Spooky Day! I just love dressing up in ridiculous costumes and embarrassing self-conscious teens!

Do you like it? It's ingenious, don't you think? Henry had the same idea and we were the best barbeque in town!

Meanwhile, Grandma Heidi and Mum went for much less extravagant outfits.

A maid, Heidi? Seriously? We are the wealthiest family in Sunset Valley and you choose to dress as a maid. *Sigh*

Lonie decided to brave the outdoors and persuade the town to feed her. Like we don't feed her enough!

She did look adorable in her little cowgirl costume, though. In fact, she was so sweet I even let her keep the candy.

Yes I know I have been sounding like I have been babying her, but I can't help it. The day after spooky day was Lonie's Young Adult birthday. I don't want my baby girl to grow up!

Clearly, she didn't listen to my pain and decided to age up anyway.

She looked a bit nervous as the sparkles surrounded her but she didn't care. I now had a beautiful, grown up girl...

...with HIDEOUS hair again! Seriously, why does she keep aging up with that do?

It was Henry's birthday as well. One last picture as a good looking young man...

...And another as an oldie

Does your back really always hurt the moment you age to elder? If so, I'm not looking forward to spending eternity with a bad back!

Just before bed, Lonie went to sign up as a Journalist. Time to get working on those skills!

However, she still found time to work on something slightly different. Do you remember her first kiss as few chapters back...

Lonie proposed to Mr First Kiss! It was so romantic and of course, Maxwell Hammer couldn't say no.

You could hear his girly screams of joy from my room at the back of the house!

Overall, these few days have been some of the best of my life. I do miss having a little baby in the house, but I love having a grown up, engaged daughter just as much. Join us next time for a beautiful wedding!

Edit: I forgot to include the outfits images.
