Lonie is adorable! I love all of her screenshots; you took a great moment of her. I think the most that I love is when her Grandma carries her; she looks so lovely with that face. But, I notice that you forgot to add about what her every day, formal and etc in your collage, bubbles. Hope that you're not too busy with real world or maybe you just simply forgot to add that.

Hope Henry would get better and good luck with writing! ;D

Lonie is adorable, and I love her little cabin, wish I had one of those.
I love the cabin too. I spend lots of my time with the camera in the cabin taking pictures of her.

RIP Charlie. :(

I also like Lonie's cabin!
It's good to see the cabin's getting such good reception!

I'm glad you like my screenshots so much. It's fun pausing the game at specific moments and taking a picture of it. It gets quite tedious putting in the outfit title and I sometimes just forget. I can keep them in if you want.

Sorry about the lack of updates over the past few weeks. I'm in dance show in just under two weeks and rehearsals are almost every night and on Sundays, when I do the most simming. I haven't played the game since I went back to school two weeks ago. The next update will hopefully either be on Sunday or the first weekend in February. I miss the Jewels so much, as well as being able to chill out.

Chapter 32 - New Beginnings

Hello peeps! We're back and life in the Jewel house is as manic and fun-filled as ever! Little Lonie has started at Sunset Valley Community School for the Gifted! I'm so proud that she is attending such a good school and is doing so well. Unfortunately, the weather was rather grim on her first day so she left the house, looking very nervous, holding her rainbow umbrella.

I sent Henry to collect her. Unlike me, she doesn't have anyone to ride on the bus with and those drivers are creepy. I can't trust them to look after her, even if only for a few minutes. Besides, we want our family to have close ties and everyone should get out and about more often.

She seemed happy enough apparently, but did her fair share of complaining.

"Who invented school?" she said, according to Henry. "The teachers are bullies, the canteen food is raw and they force us to do maths and science. English is a nice lesson, though. We're learning about spelling which will come in handy with my writing!"

Meanwhile, Grandma Heidi was making an important phone call when we arrived home.

"Hello, is this the SimNation Chefs Foundation (SNCF)? I would like to announce my retirement."

Apparently she was getting fed up of wasting her weekend at work. She had worked most of her life and we weren't exactly short of cash. She had a celebration there and then.

Moments later, we all poured into the kitchen for another very special celebration. It was my adult birthday!

It's nothing you haven't seen before so lets just say I blew out the candles, blah blah blah...

Still got it, apart from the hair. Nothing a quick trip to the mirror cannot fix!

Later that night, we got an uninvited and not particularly wished for guest.

Gaa! I hate burglars! They just barge in, make a load of noise, beat up the police officer and leave.

This fight was exhilarating though!

In the end, the good old officer won. Enjoy your life in jail dude!

As you can see, life is pretty eventful in the Jewel household right now. I still have plenty to do before I can become immortal but it's a challenge and I can't wait!

I finally gave Dante back his beard! Here he is painting in the portrait suite. This picture will appear again in a few chapters time (36 I believe) because it was the first one of it I could find. Enjoy!

That last screenshot of Dante is awesome! As is the first one with Lonie in the rain. She's a lovely girl. I always have my sims pick up their kids from school too. Bus drivers don't drive Motive Mobiles, after all. ;)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who decides not to send the kids on the bus. Lonnie is a joy to play and watch. The TabCast is brilliant for homework, before I take it off her to write.

Chapter 33 - A Young Celebrity

On this planet, there is country going by the name of SimNation. In SimNation, there is a town named Sunset Valley. In that town, there is a school and in that school, there's a rather special little girl.

Lonie Jewel was born into a rather unusual family filled with people bearing exceptional talents. Lonie is the youngest to-date but this girl is even more special than her parents.

You see, everyday when she arrived home, she would disappear into a little cabin and write her little heart out. By the time she was seven, she had written two incredibly popular science fiction titles.

On a rather stormy Tuesday morning, Lonie sat in Room 2 with the rest of Class 3 listening intently to Mrs Dean-Barrett as she droned on about creating characters.

"The best way to create characters is to annotate drawings of them. Can anyone tell me what annotating is? No one? Well, I have annotated my diagram..."

As she turned to face the board, she stopped her teaching and stared at the woman who had just barged into her classroom.

"Excuse me, woman." Miss Dean-Barrett said arrogantly. "This is a learning environment, not a room that you can enter at your own discretion."

"I'm so sorry to interrupt," the woman replied. "I am a Journalist from the SimNation Organisation of News, or SOON. The receptionist said that Lonie Jewel is in this class. I would like to borrow her for a minute or two."

Lonie stood up cautiously and followed the woman out of the room. She led her down to the food hall and sat her down.

"Who are you?" Lonie asked, terrified. "What do you want me?"

"I am Dita Simter, can't you tell? I am the best reporter in SimNation. A smart 5 year old girl like you must know that."

"Um," Lonie replied. "I'm nearly eight."

"Aww, trying to make yourself seem better than you are. So cute. Let me picture the article -"

"Stop right there. Article? Why would you want to write an article about ... about me?"

"You're famous, don't you realise? You're a celebrity!"

"I'm not spaghetti!" Lonie retorted. "How dare you accuse me of being pasta!"

"Not spaghetti. A celebrity. You know, a famous person. How about: Amazingly good looking and talented reporter Dita Simter spoke to 5 year old child writing sensation Lonie Jewel. Since the moment she picked up a pen two years ago, she has written two best-selling science fiction books and in currently writing another. However, despite the popularity of her writing, she has only just realised how famous she is in the book world. "Writing comes naturally to me," she says. 'I agree, my books are world changing but I didn't know just how well liked I am!' I spoke to her about her life goals. What do you think so far?"

"I never said any of that!" Lonie yelled back.

"Got a feisty side to her. What do you want to do with your life? Are you going to write forever? What kind of person do you want to marry? How do you feel about becoming immortal?"

Lonie gaped and stared at Dita. "I-I-Immortal? You mean, live forever?"

"It's your duty, as a Jewel, to continue the line of immortals. Why, has it never occurred to you that neither of you grandmothers should be alive still?"

"I-I-" Lonie stuttered. Immortal? Her family couldn't be immortal? Lucky, maybe, but not immortal.

"Piece it all together, child. Delve into your deepest thoughts. It all adds up, doesn't it." Dita's eyes pierced into Lonie's soul like a laser beam. Suddenly, the bell rung. Dita disappeared as dozens of children piled into the lunch hall.

Lonie grabbed some jelly and sat back down, joined by her friends Annie and Emily.

"What did that lady want to talk to you about, Lonie?" asked Annie, a girl with brown hair in plaits. "She seemed pretty strange to me."

"Oh, um..." Lonie stumbled. What was Dita asking her about? "My next book, of course." she said, saying the first thing that popped to her head, apart from immortality.

"What's your next book called? Mama says I need to read more so I'm going to look out for it in the school library." said Emily, an artistic girl who lost her home in a fire many years ago.

"I can't remember. I don't name my books until I'm done."

"Yuck, what is this stuff?" interrupted Annie. "It's vile!"

The trio continued to talk for the rest of lunchtime. For the rest of the day, Lonie couldn't concentrate on her school work. She blew up chemicals in chemistry and earned herself a detention in maths. She was so glad when hometime came. The moment the car pulled up on the drive, she ran straight to find Grandma Heidi and pulled her into the cabin.

"What is this immortality thing? What are you going to do to my life?" Lonie shouted. "I just want to grow up, write and die. I don't WANT to live forever."

Heidi picked up a teddy from the corner and spoke calmly through it.

"When I was eighteen, I was chosen by the Gods to lead myself and seven generations of descendants to immortality. You, my dear child, are the fourth. Your mother is the third and Grandma Alecia is the second. Alecia and I are already immortal, but you and your mother are still to achieve that goal once you become old like us." she explained

"But why do you need to achieve this goal? What is the reward?"

Heidi stopped. What had she done with her life? Why was she being made to do this?

Thanks Chet! I've had it screenshotted for a while but the pictures ended up in the recycling bin before I realised they weren't saved anywhere else. Got them back, though! I'm looking forward to writing the next update, too.

Aw, this was a really cute update! All the screenshots of the school time were very well staged. So, is this supposed to be one of Lonie's novels that she's writing, about herself?

Thanks! It isn't meant to be a novel about herself, but I love the idea! I might use that at some point. Chapter 33 and 34 are about immortality and how Lonie (And some other family members, for that matter) are discovering what it really means to be a Jewel.

Chapter 34 - Back in time

That night, Heidi was the last in bed. The thought of her goal kept her up until the late hours until she drifted into a deep sleep with exhaustion. It was a strange dream, unlike anything she'd ever had before. It seemed so different, yet so familiar.

Heidi found herself in the centre of white. There was nothing for miles, it seemed, until a small girl of about eight or nine came running towards her.

The girl had long blonde hair tied back in a plait. She seemed so familiar. She stopped right in front of Heidi and gazed up at her.

"Hello," tremored Heidi. "Are you al-" She stopped and took a good look at the girl. "Harriet?" The girl shook her head. "No, it can't be -

Heidi shrieked at the thought. Was it really who she thought it was? Just as Heidi was trying to process everything, the child spoke.

"I'm you, aged eight and a half, when we lived in the sim bin."

Heidi gasped. She never remembered it like this, she didn't remember anything about the sim bin anymore.

"This is where we grew up, together as one. Don't you remember living here with Dad and Harvey and Harriett?" Big Heidi shook her head. She couldn't remember any farther back than moving into Summerhill Court.

"Why, of course you don't. Mummy always said that you never remember anything about the sim bin once you leave. Anyway, what are you doing here?"

Heidi paused. She honestly had no idea. It was all a dream anyway, surely. A voice in her head whispered to her.

"Immortality," it hissed. "Immortality."

"You see those people over there," said little Heidi, surprising old Heidi. "I want you to see them."

The two Heidi's wandered over and big Heidi couldn't believe her eyes.

"This is the day our twin sister Harriett died. The sim bin does that to people. It took mummy when we were only babies and it's taken our sister too. Daddy sent us away when we were eighteen to bring them back home so we can live a full and happy life as a family. Clearly, you still haven't succeeded."

Big Heidi took a closer look at the girl. She was identical to little Heidi, accept she was paler and completely still. Harvey and Dad were crowded round the bed.

It all made sense now, but before she could say goodbye to little Heidi, she found herself back home, surrounded by those that will help her bring back Harriett.

Talk about drama! Great chapter. I loved the school scene too. It reminded me a little of a certain film...  ;D

I'm glad you liked both interludes! There were no movie references in the school scene whatsoever... ::)

There will be less drama for the next to chapters and lots more comedy and fun!

Chapter 35 - Rollerskating

Hello everyone! I'm back (Patricia, that is) and ready to roll in the sunshine! Summer is upon the Valley once more, much to the benefit of my plants. A few days ago, I was standing outside Lonie's Lodge, about to go and speak to her about her books when I heard her talking to Heidi.

"Why do we need to become immortal?" I heard her say. How did she know? The whole family swore not to tell her until she was a teenager. I walked over to the window and peered in. Heidi walked into the corner of the room and picked up my old bear.

"Long ago, Grandma's sister died. My family sent me on a mission to raise a family of immortal people; people who live forever. It is the only way that I can possibly bring her back."

"But if she died, she would've gone to heaven. I thought it was nice there." Lonie's sweet voice could be heard easily, even though she was a quiet child.

"It tore our family apart. I lost my mother to a curse when I was three and Harriett died when I was 8. We are doing this so my family can rebuild itself and the hole in the family tree filled."

"But we're your family. Why would you need more?"

An awkward silence followed. Mum called us all into the house and suggested we went to the park. It seemed like a good solution to the tension. When we got there, we all headed straight to the skating rink.

Lonie and I's first attempt at a spin resulted in a minor pile up. We were both fine, laughing in fact!

We were all skating with confidence in no time, but Lonie surprised us all. Despite hating the outdoors, she appears to have a talent for skating.

Her spins were impeccable and executed with confidence and precision (I sound like an Olympic commentator!)

No matter how hard we tried, we couldn't keep up with her. Even when we were still a little unsteady, she was whizzing past us like a true professional.

For her next birthday, we might build her an ice rink!

Her smile on the rink was contagious. She really lights up the whole world.

She needs to pay more attention in ballet, though! The arms are perfect but her shoulders need to be down and her leg turned out and, egh! Never mind that, though. Her childhood is coming to a close. She truly has made the most of it. There have been ups and downs but our writing (And skating) sensation is almost ready to conquer the hormones and mood swings of adolescence. Brace yourselves for the drop ahead!
