How have I missed reading this for so long?! I know I started it awhile ago, but somehow lost track of it. Well, bookmarking it now that I've got caught up. Lonie is adorable; great to see those baby blues and the kissy lips still going strong (as far as I can tell!). I love the picture of her grandmother staring down at her, from Lonie's perspective. Frightening, indeed!
Glad you caught up, lots has happened lately. I was having fun trying to capture pictures from Lonie's point of view. I've got far too many screenshots now. I need to sift through them and separate them into chapters.

Chapter 30 - The Most Eventful Day

Winter is upon us once more and it's time for celebration, decoration and preparation. Over the days surrounding Snowflake day, we did plenty of renovations to the house. First we put up all our decorations in the living room.

Then we dot out the staples and ladders and got to work with the outside.

Henry did the lights. There was no way we were going to let Dante or Charlie do it. And us girls, we prefer not to do the decorating in this house.

We did have our windows done and you will see these throughout the chapter. The workmen worked over the holiday period to get the windows done quickly.

Meanwhile, we had fun in the snow!

I arrived too late to help with the igloo, but at least I showed up!

We had plenty of hardcore snowball fights to prove who's best - immortals or non-immortals.

I was on the non-immortal team. I'm not immortal yet so why should I join them? The match was pretty even

Did you know that when Grandma Heidi hits you with a snowball it really hurts?

Mum has a good arm too. Poor Dad.

Me and Henry went to the park on our own to have a little bit of private time on the ice skating rink.

I think we need a little more practice.

We got a picture of the new windows at the back of the house.

What d'ya think?

We redid our kitchen in a modern, futuristic style and made it open plan with the dining room. The dining room is in a similar style.

Anyway, Snowflake day dawned and the opening of presents began!

I don't know who gave me coal, but when I see them, they're going down. Everyone else got good gifts.

It also happened to be Henry's birthday.

Author's note: We made the dining room into the kitchen style after Snowflake Day was over. More of that to come.

Henry made a wish. No, of course I don't know what he wished for!

He kept his cool when he emerged from the sparkles but there was a look of despair in his eyes.

Just after sundown, there was a strange mystical noise coming from one of the bathrooms. We all rushed upstairs to see what was going on.

I knew his time was coming but why it had to be then, I didn't know. Snowflake day and Henry's birthday? Why couldn't it have been another day?

I turned around to see if Henry was okay.

There he was, crying out his heart. He had lost the person who carved out his entire life, the person who rescued him from a terrible childhood in the orphanage. Without his adoptive father, Lonie wouldn't be here.

We watched Charlie leave with Grim without fuss. He died aged 92. Rest in peace, Charlie Crumplebottom.

Aw, RIP Charlie  :'(

The house looks great! I can never manage to do overhauls of rooms because my game just crashes! I love the kitchen, are the cabinets from ITF?

I was impressed with the refurbishment, too. Yes, the cabinets are ITF.

I love how you incorporated Christmas into the lives of your sims, complete with a tree, decorations and presents. And at least we can give our sims a white Christmas even if we don't get one ourselves, snow just makes everything look so idyllic!

The snow was the main reason I redid the house. Plus, I didn't like the bay windows anymore. I was really shocked that Charlie died on Henry's birthday, but I was expecting it at the same time, if you know what I mean.

Snowflake day is my favourite festival. The gift giving parties are great fun and the store has such wonderful Christmas themed decor.

That's really sweet! I loved Charlie, even if he did break Alecia's heart (They got together at prom but I didn't want them to be together).

I just love the screenshot where the piles of gifts stack up. And there is my favourite one sat there and waiting for opening the gift moment. Dante also got his appearance often in this chapter even there's no sign that you'd put the beard :P

And to be honest, I envy of your building skill and how you decorated thing. That was lovely; I wish that I had that talent. The screenshots also good, I'm enjoyed every bit of it. I guess this is why I loved Sims stories because it has so many pictures.

...and happy birthday, Henry and goodbye to Charlie, even he’s not my favourite one, but it still sad to see anyone go. Hope the family be strong, it always devastating to see someone go in dynasty :’(

Also, Happy New Year bubbles! :)

And also thank you for helping me the other day, you helped me with your answer how to deal with insanity to have larger family. I remember you’re there, here in this thread. Just want to say that because I haven’t thank you properly, Mum said always say thank you when people help you out ^^

I keep forgetting about the beard! He's now 91 in game (About 85 in the last chapter) so if I remember, he might die with one and be seen with one as a ghost.
Thanks for the compliment, I personally don't think I'm amazing at building and I can be quite hit and miss. I probably look better than I am because I build loads but rarely ever share.
Capturing cool screenshots are one of the fun parts of this. I love going to sim level and watching elders pull faces. The result (As we have seen) is hysterical!
I miss all those who have died in my stories, but so far I miss Charlie most. With Chris and Agnes, they were young adults when I started to play with them but Charlie was adopted as a child. I worked out he would've been born a day before I started playing. That shows how old the immortals are. I think Heidi works out at about 123 days old.
I don't even remember writing that post in that thread! I'm racking my brain to figure out which family it is. I think I know which one but I don't think I have them anymore.

I just finished reading yours mostly as silent reader, it’s just how I am and I love it---and it always nice to see another Luna fan ::) The part that I love was the last part before this, I think that was funny; you should consider creating more! Great chapter as well, I love the decorating and building that you put on. Goodbye for Charlie, hope that you had a great time in this dynasty and I wish that he had a large tombstone as well as symbolize for his happiness :)

Good luck with the rest bubbles :)

I will be reading but not always commenting ;)

Thanks for reading, it always means a lot to know someone is reading my stories, if not always commenting. I'm glad I've found another Luna fan too. I like creating the funny chapters and I've got a variety of chapter moods planned. I doubt we'll be short of chapters anytime soon! I can never seem to get the large tombstones. He didn't quite complete his lifetime wish, so that's probably why, so I'm working Dante extra hard to see if he can complete his in time.

Chapter 31 - Grief and Celebration

The Day's following Charlie's death were hard for all of us. Just after Grim had left, I turned around to check how people were taking it when I saw Lonie sitting by the door, looking confused if nothing else. Grandma Heidi looked around too and immediately picked her up and carried her out.

Heidi was trying not to think about Charlie but was working so hard she looked a bit weird. But this picture is meant to illustrate the difference between them. The only similarity left is the eyes. All of us girls have so far inherited our mother's eyes. I think it shows we all have the same heart and desire.

Anyway, I peered in the door and told Grandma to see if Lonie was okay.

"I'm not sure" she whispered back. "She looks quite scared."

We left the room and sent Henry to get her up in the morning. He hadn't stopped crying all night.

When he got there, he stopped crying when he saw her face glowing. It was like nothing had happened.

Lonie spent the morning reading her new book and playing with her horsey.

For her birthday, we really went all out and built her a cabin at the end of the garden.

We realise she doesn't like the outdoors and she has to run a long way to get there, but it gives her a quiet room to go to when she needs a bit of alone time.

We decorated it in her favourite colour Irish green and made it as comfortable as possible. We also bought her a laptop so she can write while she is waiting to be picked up from school. I'm not letting her use that school bus! The drivers are creepy.

Anyway, Henry carried her to the cake.

She was an absolute darling who willingly posed for some pictures to go in my album.

She looks kind of neurotic in that one, but it will go in anyway!

She blew out the candles with one almighty, adorable puff.

Our baby girl was engulfed with sparkles like the ones that took Charlie. There was a sudden gasp and terrified glance until we saw there was no cause for concern.

Apart from the cross-eyes. Lets hope they sort themselves out!

After a makeover, she was back to her normal self.

She gained the bookworm trait, confirming that she is our little writer.

Lonie immediately disappeared to her cabin and started her first book, Revenge of the Grogans. She was already at level 3 because of all the reading she did as a toddler so it was a Sci-Fi novel.

She chose quite a pose for her second sculpture. She really is one determined little girl!

Once Henry was finished sculpting, Lonie left the room and I had a chat with him.

"Are you feeling any better, Hen?"

"Honestly woman, do I look any better?" he snapped. I was really taken aback by this sudden action. It was so out of character. "After all I did for my dad, he died on the worst day he could've!"

"He couldn't help it, Henry. It was just... his time. Just breathe, you need to calm down." I bought him closer and he rested his head on my shoulder.

"It'll be okay, I promise."

Now, I promise the next chapter will be happier!
