Happy birthday Patricia! :D She's still equally adorable as a child, just a little older and taller. I can't wait to see what happens in France. It's such a beautiful place but the tombs can be confusing.

Great update. Happy birthday to Patricia. And good to see that Alecia has completed her lifetime wish. Have fun in Champ Les Sims(France).:)
@bubbles: Have fun with friends. Friends are more important than gaming or computer, the lesson I learned during my post-graduation years.

Thanks everyone! My bedroom is a complete mess thanks to a three year old and six year old playing in it all weekend. It sure is nice to have my room to myself again! There may be an update today, but it depends how much playing I can get in.

Patricia is such a cutie! I think Chris'/Alecia's faces and hair work really well with a slightly darker skin tone. I think she'll be just as pretty as her Mum  :)

EDIT: Oh, and congratulations on 3000 views!

Chapter 18- Fun in the Sun

Hello! It's been awhile, hasn't it? Not much has happened really, except our short trip to Champs Les Sims. Unfortunately, Patricia fell ill soon after we arrived and we had to come home. Charlie, Dante and Dad did go tomb raiding, though!

Charlie made the most money. I think he made ten THOUSAND simoleons! Our first night back didn't go to plan, though...

The black and white strips really don't help with the camouflage! She never really introduced herself properly so I can't remember her name. Luckily, our burglar alarm wasn't broken and it gave her a right old fright!

She was jumping around like a complete loon! (Under the mistletoe, I might add) You'd think burglars would have heard about the invention of burglar alarms at some point during their travels.

The police arrived in a wink and finished her off like that [Cue finger clicking].

Immortals 1. Burglar None.

Dad's getting old now. Like really old. Older than the Goths. We'll all be devastated when he goes, but he still wanted to bond with his grandchildren (Henry and Charlie are practically family). Patricia isn't particularly keen on his style!

Honestly, I don't blame her for that look of disgust.

Henry didn't take the pinching well at all.

You could hear Henry's yelling all the way down by the beach!

Kids and their tantrums. Tut tut.

To take their mind off their horrific embarrassment, our two little angels went to the family park across the road for some fun time.

Trampolining was fun for both children, although I think Henry might have won. Look at his smile!

To prove her Girl Power, Patricia decided to show off her horseshoe tossing skills.

By her face, I think she needs a bit more practice.

She must be desperate, because she challenged her older brother/friend to some bobbing for apples.

I am pleased to announce that this time, she won! Still, Henry has won more games than her. There's only one thing for it...

Sun bathing contest!

Hmm... Well, Patricia actually chose a spot that's in the sun so... Patricia wins!

Is that one a sparkler contest or a goofiest swimming costume contest? I'm going to go with neither because we didn't have enough sparklers.

Early on Sunday morning, Mum, Patricia, Henry and I went for our jabs. The first day of autumn and we're already preparing for the winter.

When we got back, the sun was shining and Patricia hopped right into the money tree sprinkler as Dad did the morning harvest.

After a final barbecue in the park, we said goodbye our sunhats and dresses and hello freezing cold winter for the third year in a row. What will the autumn bring this year? Hope? Faith? Death?

Chapter 19- Torn Apart

As close as we all are, times are tough. I feel like our family life is being torn apart, not just by the force of immortality, but by each other. Lately, Patricia's been behaving unusually. She talks to herself about family, life, family life, stuff like that. I was in the bathroom the other day when I overheard one of her conversations.

"I love Grandad more than I love trees, but I'll be glad when he dies. I mean, I'll never have to be pinched on the cheek ever again!"

"Daddy is horrible to me. He never speaks to me and he just does arty things. When he does come to see me now, he tries to hug me. I hate it, he's invading my personal space. The world would be much better without him, but I wouldn't tell anyone but you." To hear this from my little girl broke my heart. She's always been so friendly, it's in her nature. I have no idea why she would talk like that about her family.

On a happier note, we finally built an extension on our house!

In theory, we shouldn't have to do much building ever again, since the new story has another four bedrooms and two bathrooms.

As you can see, we've left it completely unfurnished apart from in the bathrooms. We may not need to use those bedrooms for another generation or two but it's done now.

As autumn drew in, we started preparing for spooky day. Dad went to the festival to get some free pumpkins for our front lawn.

Of course, he went out in the pouring rain in his summer shirt and shorts. Back at home, we were starting to feel more like a family again with a hallway carving session.

No one spoke to one another, but it was one of those moments where we felt whole and happy. To complete the day, Patricia celebrated with a play in the money tree sprinkler.

The joy didn't last though. At 11:30 PM, we were all awoken by an unusual noise. Naturally, we all ran into Mum and Dad's room to investigate. Mum hadn't woken yet, her dream about rubbish was clearly too exciting.

Dad was floating, he was gradually turning transparent. Sparkles surrounded him. Immediately, we knew that the worst had happened. My heart split in two and I fell to my knees. He was gone, truly gone. To my immense relief, Patricia slept through the ordeal. She's just too young to experience the pains of death.

Park benches. A very interesting dream.

When the sun rose in the morning. I was the one to break the news to her. From the moment the words slipped off my tongue, I knew she had never meant anything she said about her grandfather. Her eyes glossed over and tears started pouring out.

I pulled her in tight and told her everything would be alright. I told her that Grandad was a great man who had lived a great life. I told her it was his time.

Mum took the loss worse than any of us. She cried all morning and needed more love than any of us. The pain of immortality had finally hit her hard in the chest. We couldn't do much to comfort her apart from give her a shoulder to cry on.

In an attempt to distance my mind from recent events, I went down to the beach to fish. The world is another universe when I'm down there.

Today was different, though. Tears swelled up in my eyes and I couldn't help but sob over my rod. My rod that would lead me to hundreds of years of pain, just like now.

I HATE losing the spouses... particularly the early ones.  They seem to be the roughest.

In game, I've just done a round of museum pieces and I keep wanting to get Chris to do the ice sculptures whilst Charlie does the painting. I am really missing him right now, but the family have got through the worst of the pain.

That was a very sad part. I almost cried
Whew, I'm not the only person who found that chapter really sad. I nearly cried writing it! Don't worry, though. The next two chapters are a lot more upbeat and happy, so no tears to come.

Chapter 20- Birthday Boom

After Chris's untimely death, our family had to pull together as one and show our emotional strength. Our spirits were lifted with three days of birthday celebration and Spooky Day (When Henry and Patricia visited about two houses). Henry and Dante happen to share a birthday! Henry went first to the cake.

It filled me with joy to see a smile on his face for the first time all day. He had been hit so hard at such a young age.

He blew out the candles on his own, possibly with a bit of help from Dante and his noise maker.

When the sparkles came, he took them well and added their powers to his cool.

The cool was subsequently lost by his flowery shorts, though! Nothing a quick trip to the mirror couldn't fix, though!

Our little dude is now funky, artistic, smart, and ready for prom!

Dante followed Henry's lead to his cake. I do sometimes forget that he is a day older than me, despite the fact that we shared a graduation day.

Thinking up wishing clearly comes naturally to Dante. He didn't tell me his wish, though. It's bad luck.

The sparkles came as a bit of a shock to him, clearly. I hope I don't look that bad when the sparkles come for me!

Being old is obviously what he wanted. He really rocks the wrinkles!

On my birthday, we still hadn't fully recovered from the bereavement and Patricia was still suffering more than ever. She frequently wails for her grandfather to come back and see her birthday.

Agnes comes out occasionally to comfort her, though. The two are quite close, despite Agnes passing when Patricia was only little. Sometimes, she stays for breakfast. It must be hard without food in the afterlife.

Patricia is doing extremely well at school and is easily exceeding the average grades for her age. She does have a very small class, but it doesn't matter really.

From left to right, we have Patricia, Starr Singer (Seriously, there's a kid in her class from out of town called Starr Singer), Enrique Motely and Kaylynn Lankerak. Miss Lankerak must be getting old now, she was nearly a teenager when Mum moved into town!

Once Patricia had returned from the Mausoleum, it was time for my adult birthday. Honestly, I just wanted to skip to the cake.

Nevertheless, I thought hard about my wish. I blew out the candles the moment I was sure...

...And waited for the sparkles.

I look good considering I'm getting older!

The next day was spooky day and Patricia's teen birthday. I'm not sure whether she even made a wish. Her face looked pretty blank to me!

This was only her third time with the sparkles, but she definitely aged up like a natural. I'm so proud of my daughter!

Our baby girl is growing so fast (Literally!)!

Not bad, Patricia! She does get prettier the older she gets. Of course, every girl needs a birthday trip to the mirror, even if her clothes are satisfactory

The end result: A gorgeous young woman ready to conquer death! . The race for immortality is on, not just for myself, but for the whole family. Will we survive?

I love Henry's smock! It gives him an artistic, dramatic character. And Patricia is lovely. Happy birthday to all :)
