I keep some and sell some. I like to keep the ones that related to a Sim's LTW or Career and hang them as memorials when the Sims die. Like, if I have a Sim with the Master of the Arts LTW, I'll keep the painting and guitar certificates but sell any others.

So far, my small family has them hanging in the appropriate areas/over the appropriate item. Like my master cook has his hanging in the kitchen; my author has hers in her study. Currently, the painting one is in the study too.

In the big family, they go into the chests you get from WA for storage - the females who share a particular trait (in this case, purple eyes) have that chest underneath their YA portrait. It's a type of memorial. My author is stashing her books in them, my collector is sticking the gems in there, my cook is dead, but I'll be adding recipes to hers...

I got a question: Is it better to make a series of memorials on a community site, at your active house, or at a different house?

And can you leave certificates at community lots without anything happening to them?

Well, I think it would make most sense to have them give their inherent environmental bonus to your active household.

Indeed, It can be very nice to have a sort of personal mausoleum at home, in a more synister way of course. But it can be practicle for yor family to chat up with some past away sim. Good for Charismatic challenges or just keeping away from being socially solitated.

This is going to sound crazy, but I can never be bothered to go over and get them out of the mailbox. I can't even remember the last time I used a mailbox.
There is definitely no plug for either the No Photos Legacy or Room Dynasty here. There's a time and a place for plugs, and this is neither.

I am reviving this topic as I did not know you could sell the certificates.  Don't know why I didn't realize it, but as soon it arrives whatever sim gets it out of the mailbox just keeps it in his or her inventory unless I needed a space to be filled.

I am sure that there may be others who have joined the forum don't know this either and would be glad to hear of it.

I have been searching to find out which paintings is best to sell.  Not only because my sims inventories are getting quite full, but for some reason they are disappearing off the wall.  I can put one up and it shows up there and as soon as I let go of it -- it vanishes and I can't find it.  Some were ones that I really liked.

Anyhow, with now being on my fifth generation, keeping the heirs, spouses and offsprings have built up.  Glad to know that I can clean out the certificates, which will clear out a lot of wasted space.

Anyhow, with knowing I can sell the certificates, and going ahead, unless someone suggests not to, sell all of the average paintings I can get rid of some.   That should clean up my overloaded and messy inventories, I have a LOT of paintings and certificates.

I typically store them in one of the chests you can get from WA along with my sims' high school and university diplomas. I can't store the diplomas in my family inventory, so I like having them all in one place.
