The Exchange Sims

I've got a couple of questions regarding the sims in the exchange, if anyone knows the answers please.

1, if you 'add to favourites' where does it store them, is it a sort of wish list of sims you'd like to add to your game?

2, how do you make sims to add to the exchange? Some look as though they created in sims but some look like they've been designed somewhere different.
And if they are made outside sims how do I do that. I love the designing side of sims so would love to play with that more.

The one big danger of downloading Sims from the Exchange is not knowing where they came from and what kind of content they have.  If you download a Sim that has third party content (CC), that content will be installed into your game and could potentially cause you problems.  Third party content is something that is made by someone other than Electronic Arts, which means it is not screened or monitored by them.  If you get a bad piece of CC, it can really bork your game and you'll have to find it and remove it.  Part of the reason we created our Swap Shop is so that members will have a place to download Sims that have a much less chance of having CC.  We can't guarantee it 100%, but we're diligent about it and if something is discovered to have CC, it is removed.

To upload a Sim to the Exchange or to our Swap Shop, the instructions are almost the same.  The Swap Shop requires an extra step of making a new topic and attaching the actual file, whereas the Exchange is automatically done when you share your Sim while in Create-A-Sim.  Instructions for uploading a Sim to the Swap Shop can be found here.

I wasn't aware of the swap shop before so I'll look into that. I am aware of the issues caused by CC. I've experienced some issues due to it.

If you favourite an item it will appear on your "My Favourites" page, which can be located by dropping down the menu from My Page. 

Also to expand on what Pam said about the upload process, the Exchange uses the Launcher however our Swap Shop does not. The only way to upload to the Exchange is by Exporting from game (Also for the Swap Shop) however you then have to open the Launcher and upload from there in the Uploads tab.

Also I'm going to move this to Misc Help as I think it's better suited there.
