Not sure what happened.... but after completing turning off the Sims 3 launcher and signing back in the program is saving. Also, Ricalynn maybe I needed it to happen because you were right. It was not the right time in my challenge. I was so excited to get new towns and expansion packs that I was going to jump towns when my new heir was only a teen. Thank you Ricalynn and Pam. Both of you are great!!!

I have not yet tried moving, but hopefully that will work also.

I also really wonder how much of the problems are due to trying to run the Sims on a Windows 8 laptop. When I bought it I did specifically ask if the computer would run the Sims. (This is always a top priority when buying a new computer.   )  I was told it would. It is not a cheap computer. I think a lot of it is I haven't had a lot of luck with Windows 8.

I've been testing things on the vamp front and my vamp from a pre-patch game is not looking good. She's literally gaining no skills with skill books and very, very little with skill items even during the day time. It took five meals to get from a full lvl 4 bar to an empty lvl 5 bar. Just a heads up.

Am currently looking into whether not using a +skill item/location makes a difference.

Perhaps it is related, but my werewolf is experiencing the same issue post-patch. I'm trying to build Alchemy skill by having her read the books and research on the alchemy station. The station moves the skill bar a little bit faster, but still, she has been in the middle of level six bar, and it's been 2 sims days already!

I really don't want to uninstall all my games and have to reinstall all my games just cause the patch 1.55 messed up my game. It goes to load the game but then it crashes.

This is actually a common problem right now from what I've seen on the official forums.  At what part are you crashing, when you load the save or when you use the launcher?

When I try to load the game it doesn't even say the Sims or nothing.

Does it hang or does it actually crash?  You remembered to clear caches and remove all mods and CC right?

It hangs and then crashes and yes i cleared all my mods and cc out before.

Are you getting any .xcpt files in your The Sims 3 folder?

Twallan says that this has absolutely nothing to do with previously bugged Sims.  So now they are looking for other factors.  Have you recently restarted your game, cleared caches and tried to skill again?   Were you using the library?

I also am having trouble with the patch. I have not been able to play sims since the update. When I open the game, it freezes on the EA logo and hangs there...indefinitely. I can't even "alt tab" or "ctrl/alt/del" to get out of it. I have to shut down with the power button. I have no mods or cc in this file. I have Windows 8 on my new PC.

Edit: All caches, etc. have been cleared. I even started a brand new file without store content.

This sounds like something that is going on with the main forum.    I'm going to be seriously looking into it for you guys.  I remember once upon a time there being an issue with the store doing this and I will see if I can find the answer to that to be tried.
