Hi and I want to thank everyone who maintains this forum. I have been able to easily find the info that I've been looking for over the past several months.

I have a question or two about this patch- 1.55. First of all, is this the same patch number that is on the Island Paradise disc? I normally patch from the disc due to bandwidth restrictions (which are ridiculously low). My game has been working splendidly since patch 1.50- and I'm waiting on a sale for Island Paradise before I get this game. For those of you who have already patched (from disc, manual, or Laucher), did you encounter any issues with the patching itself? I'm probably just a worrywart but I like being informed before I embark on this patching odyssey.   :-\

I have the disc, and I didn't have problem patching itself.  However, the Island Paradise disc only takes you up to Patch 1.54.95.022001.

If you go from 1.54, the patch to 1.55 is roughly 160 MB.

Thank you Bri. That's really helpful to me. :) I wonder why the patch number on the disc is lower than the Launcher one? Quite curious.

Because CDs are produced in advance and hence don't always have the latest version on it.

Not sure if this is the patch or installing IP, but I cannot use CAS at all anymore, even to create a brand new Sim.  It's very frustrating.

Shouldn't be either, I can still use CAS just fine (the hair/makeup failure is a separate annoyance, but is pre-patch).

What happens when you try it?

On the official forums I read the athletic center skill modifier has been fixed. Does this mean the moodlet in the gym finally gives a boost instead of the formerly(?) non-boost? I have a mod for this glitch, but if it has been fixed, I don't have to use it anymore.

What happens when you try it?

It crashes after maybe two minutes?  I think many people are having this issue as it is prominent on the official forum and on SimsVIP.  It's awful because new CAS stuff is one of the highlights of EPs for me.

Wow! I'd almost suggest it's a coding conflict somewhere, but I wouldn't know where to look (I can be in CAS for up to 45 minutes with no issues at all).

Can you get into CAS in a factory reset folder?


Edit: This patch fixed the omni plant seed ordering bug.  You can now do it from the mailbox like originally intended.

Yippee!! That is awesome! Also, when I loaded a saved game, it was paused!  ;D I seriously hollered yay for that one!!
