Unlike Rica I was successful in the move with my family of Sims.

The family I've been trying to move was my recently completed Life States Dynasty.  Unsuccessfully tried twice with them by packing their furniture.  I'm worried that if the file is too large this feature will not work for our generational games.

Well I just did two quick move tests to try out the family connections, I loaded an old save with the Shallow family, moving Dallas and Kurt only first time and they lost the grandfather/grandson connection, Kurt did keep his power broker pension though.

Second move I did the whole family, even got Dallas to steal his dead grandmother from the graveyard, this time family tree is sort of intact but Sasha is no longer on it, so even taking a tombstone wont keep a dead sim in the tree :(

But they did keep jobs and level and Dallas had a couple of pictures he had painted and they still show the appreciation value as well, all his stolen objects came in family inventory as well, I chose to sell the house furniture.

So it's not bad but not perfect as far as family ties go.

I just finally moved the Licious family with four dead spouses in the founder's inventory.  All four spouses were on the family tree just as before - only seen if you check their child's family tree.  Is Sasha actually on the family tree when in Riverview?

Everything else is going good.  I can use their family inventory on the other private lots.

I had no idea what a modular arch was so I tried it.

It's a single but this is what happens when you put it next to another one.

Yes she shows up as Tom's mother, now only Kurt is there, but she is a pre dead sim maybe that has an effect, will have to try with a sim who died while playing to see if that is why.

Maybe load up my aborted townie dynasty, lots of dead relatives there.

I normally don't patch up until I know everything is ok, but if they actually fixed the part where paused games always come up unpaused, that might be worth it. I hate having to sit and wait for it to load just so I can pause it! Although I actually like the fast skilling sometimes. I had one sim that started a clay sculpture and by the time it was done he was level 10. Very weird yet useful lol.

I just saved in a new town.  File size prior to moving to new town was 75.7 MB.   The save I just did after the move with a new property having been purchased - 32.4 MB.

Awesome! File size is critical, so I'm glad it reduces it!

Lunar Lakes has a lack of options for Water Lot placements sadly. Some of the canals are possible but they are very deep so the piers look weird going that far down. :P

A quick test shows ice sculptures don't seem to survive a move; they just become sculpture bases. I'm interested in what causes this, so I may try and see if anything can be done to prevent it...Though I can't imagine what.

Ice Scultpures have done that a lot since the beginning  That's why it never works when coming back from China/Egypt/France.

Well it would seem it is just pre made dead, I just loaded my townie dynasty at the point before I moved gen 4 to Sunset Valley and picked up all his relatives before going and everybody showed up in the family tree, founders Aiden and Hannah Jones, their five kids, first heir and spouse plus descendants, also her sister's spouse and descendants.

So entire tree intact apart from Hannah's mother and the rest of the Remingtons, didn't think to pick those up actually, but it's interesting, I think if you had family space you could possibly make them playable then send them back to the netherworld on arrival, that might keep pre made dead sims in the tree.

One really weird thing is his IF doll came too when it was sold with his previous house before marrying, it did that when I moved them before, those dolls are odd.

My file went from 1.01GB to 917MB not bad I guess, still far too big for my liking though  ::)

Did you sell the furniture or pack it with you?

Graham just tweeted this picture.  A great use of the new features with the ship diner from Barnacle Bay!

Since my save games are all sitting in storage till my computer is back from repairs, I have to ask -- no change with story progression?

Either way, this patch looks like a ton of awesome features I can't wait to play around with! And hopefully the bugs will be ironed out by the time I get back to playing ;)

He said that there are alot of features in the patch for IP, and I think I'll wait for the game to actually come out before updating. I remember the patch for UL had features that messed up games for those who didn't have UL so I'm gonna wait on it.
