Sims phone will not stop ringing.

This isn't affecting gameplay, it's just really annoying. I'm also a bit nervous that it may affect my Sim getting opportunities. Her phone will not stop ringing. I was playing, she got a call for a date, ended the call, but the ringing would not stop. I've tried silencing the ringer, changing the ringtone, changing the skin on the phone, did the obvious check to see if she was actually getting another call (she wasn't), none of it has worked. I figured it should resolve itself next time I play, I was wrong. After almost 2 weeks of not playing Sims3 at all, I opened the last save and the phone was still ringing. I've gotten out and back in two more times since and it's the same thing. None of the Sims seem to respond to her phone. No matter what she's doing the ringing continues, showering, sleeping, at work, it does not matter.

OK, the technical stuff. I have all of the EPs, no SPs. my last uninstall/reinstall was right after University came out. I also have Monte Vista, Aurora Skies, Dragon Valley, Riverview, Union Cove, and St. Clair installed. My computer is an Asus PC with Windows 7 Home Premium.

Have you tried ResetSim (sim's name)?

If you don't mind losing the relationships with the rest of the neighborhood, you can go into Edit Town, save the family to your library, delete the family with the bugged phone, and then replace them with the copy you just made. You'll still keep your jobs, but you will lose any relationship from the relationship panel and from the family tree that is outside your household.

Have you tried ResetSim (sim's name)?

Resetsim is good too! I just assumed you had used it. Try that first and then "resetsim *" without the quotes. If those don't work, then try my solution.

It's fixed   OK, in case some other poor soul gets this malady, this is what did it for me. I didn't want to go through the Edit Town fix since (naturally!) this happened in my Dynasty file. I tried the reset sim command. It didn't seem to work at first, but a few minutes later she got another call asking her out on a date and when she ended the call there was silence from the phone! I would have cheered, but that would have woken up the RL munchkins and nooboo, so yeah bad idea, but you know the impulse was there
