Pets Expansion Automatically Places New Lots in Every Town
« on: June 13, 2013, 03:48:44 AM »
When I install pets or ambitions expansion pack, some of the lots such as the equestrian centre or the dog park etc, they are automatically placed in every one of my towns...

To place these new lots in, they automatically remove some of the nicer old lots and replace it with these new lots from the expansion pack! how do i prevent this from happening?!

Please post!
Thank you :)

Welcome to our Forum.

What you describe is programmed into the game and I'm unaware of a way to prevent it from happening.  In my games, I believe the new lots get placed on formerly empty lots and it hasn't been a problem.  You can delete the new lot using Edit Town and place something different there, if you want.  But I don't think you can keep it from happening in the first place.

Like Pam said the are placed in every town. The only exception I know of is the new town Dragon Valley. I read somewhere that it was programed not to add the lots. And the new games I've started there the lots wasn't added so I guess it was true.
A clear conscience is usually a sign of a bad memory.

That's right, grimsoul.  Dragon Valley doesn't have any of the Ambitions or Pets buildings.  Thanks for adding that.

Hmm...I see...that's annoying! And I do realise they put the new lots on former empty lots but when they've run out of those empty lots (when you install both pets and ambitions..you get so many new buildings!) they'll remove the nicer lots and replace it! For example, in sunset valley, that really nice big mansion was replaced by the equestrian centre...and unless i've missed something, i couldn't find the mansion in the "Lots" panel ..

Thank you for your help anyway! :) I really appreciate it! :) :)

They shouldn't replace anything when they auto-place. The lot in SV where they place the equestrian centre is an empty lot to begin with, with the Alto's and Langraab's on either side.
From the moment I fell down that rabbit hole I've been told what I must do and who I must be. I've been shrunk, stretched, scratched and stuffed into a teapot. I've been accused of being Alice, and of not being Alice, but this is my dream. I'll decide where it goes from here.

This is not true any more.  All worlds but Dragon Valley with have autoplaced lots now.    And as sunshine said - nothing is deleted to place the lots.  Just empty lots.  I've had Pets since it came out and never in any of my games have they ever replaced a pre-existing building/home.

Ok hang on..when you say replacing empty lots, the lots is just empty ground and there's no house on it right? Because I remember that they did replace a mansion size house with the equestrian centre...

I've uninstalled the games because I was really frustrated with the auto replacing of these new lots in all the towns..I should reinstall and double check again! :)

Correct, a completely empty lot. As far as I'm aware there has never been a house placed on that lot or any others that the lots get auto-placed on.

The lot you're referring to is the dynasty and legacy lot.  Which means nothing is ever on it (except the equestrian center).  If you have Pets uninstalled, open a new Sunset Valley and you'll see what we mean.
