Sims picture still showing as toddler

I caked my sim up early (vampire) and his picture (not the green one to the side, but the one where his motives are) are showing him as a toddler. It doesn't affect him any other way, how do I fix this?

Changing his appearance via mirror worked.

I know sometimes when I do that, it takes a while for it to change.  Not sure why it takes so long sometimes and then other times, it changes immediately.

Is it really that easy? I have two mortal elders in my ID, I didn't think to change their appearance. They flick between being Elders and Adults in the portrait panel, yet they remain elders in game.

It really is. If you just change even one thing, and then remove it, poof.

I have a similar issue with one of my sims, I started here as obese so that she can later lose weight.  She finally did but her portrait is still showing her as obese.. I will try the mirror to see if that helps.
