Nice update.  I'm enjoying watching Solanine in this.  She's evil.  We know she's evil.  But we aren't seeing her do anything blatantly evil.  Loving the suspense.

Thank you! Being evil without being so obvious about it is hard work, so I appreciate your feedback on that! Solanine is an amazing canvas to work with.

Lol. What a man does to keep from paying child support!

O Luther, I'm sure you're good for it. Need grandma to send you some cash?

Luther just doesn't like the boring baby. He doesn't want to pay to keep Kassidy's secret. She better be paying him! But she can consider herself lucky. The last woman to have his child didn't make out so well.

If Breagadoir and Luther ever ended up in the same town, I think they might have it repopulated with their own children within a Simweek.

Also, I didn't address this the first time, but so yes. I wonder if there's an opposite challenge to Who's Your Daddy called I'm Your Daddy that both Luther and Breagadoir could compete in.

If there is not any sort of challenge along those lines, I think they have officially started it  :=)

Chapter 16, part I: A Wolf of a Tale

"You know," Luther said over a game of chess. "Chin really is acting strangely. More so that normal. Dangerous."

"I know," Oswin said with a soft sigh, her fingers caressing the mane on her knight. "He keeps disappearing too. Every month or so. I don't know where he goes, but he's gone all night. And those rages. They're so frightening."

"I don't know, Oz. You have two kids here. Aren't you worried?"

"Incredibly. But what am I going to do? Take his children away? He still has his moments."

"Few and far between as they may be," Luther said, capturing her bishop.

She sighed and surrendered the game as Luther said, "Checkmate."

"Dad?" Leo said, catching him off guard one night. "I need your help with something."

"Can it wait?" Chin asked him, his brow beaded with sweat. He was on his way out.

"Well, I guess, but I just wanted to know if you could help me with my homework. It's getting really hard now."

"I can help, Leo. But tomorrow."

"It's due tomorrow morning!"

"I'm sorry, I ca--" He gasped and gripped the banister of the stairs.

Leo jumped back. "Dad? What's wrong?"

"Get out of here, Leo!"

"Dad, what's... Dad?"

"Go!" He boomed as he knocked a lamp to the floor.

Leo's eyes widened and he stumbled into the stairwell. "D...dad?" He whispered as Chin's fingernails sharpened like blades and hair burst forth from every pore. He arched his back and let out a blood curdling howl. Leo gasped and swung around the pole of the banister to get out of Chin's way without losing sight.

Chin bolted from the house, out the back door. He couldn't let Oswin see him that way.

With the full moon shining brightly over Aurora Skies, Solanine stepped into the enchantment chamber and brewed up a bit of a storm.

"A war is spinning, I'm set to win,
Just pluck each and every hair off that Chinny Chin Chin," she sang with laughter as the magic engulfed her.

"Rise, my babies. Make mummy proud."

The curling tumbles of her laughter became the music of the night as the moon hit its apex.

That was very BA. Cackle, cackle. Luther is such a liar (lol). He knows very well what is going on with Chin. He just wants to rub it in and tip off Oz!

Solanine is a wicked witch. And it seems she has it out for Chin. Not that anyone really likes him anyway. He's kind of a weeny.

Yes! I've got you using BA. (Unless you've used it before and I'm just being a narcissist.) Luther is a bit of a liar, haha. He's expecting that Oswin will freak out and leave Chin when she finds out he's wolfing out.

Chapter 16, Part II: The Will of the Moon

Oswin heard the sounds of howling and whimpering from outside the window, her music nearly drowned out by the foreign sounds.

She paused her workout to look out the window. Oswin squinted into the darkness, not sure exactly what it was that she was seeing. She hurried down the stairs to the backdoor, peeking out into the night.

She walked out onto her back deck, her lips parting in surprise as she saw two undead creatures attacking a werewolf in her own backyard. It took her only a moment to realize that the wolf was incredibly familiar looking. "Chin!"

A force of energy rocketed through her, a spell blasting from her wand and sending the two zombies back into the ground. "Stay away from him!"

Chin was curled up on the ground, whimpering like a lost puppy. Oswin fell to her knees beside him, her hand touching his arm as she assessed the damage. It wasn't too bad. Just a gash on his right side. She could handle that. "Come on. Let's get  you inside before any more of those things come back." She helped him to his feet and had him lean on her as she led him back inside.

"You silly man," she murmured as she set him on the floor.

"I'm sorry," he muttered, ashamed.

"Why didn't you tell me, Chin?" She asked as she bandaged up his wound.

"I thought you would get frightened and leave."

"I'm a witch, Chin. Not much frightens me. And even if it does, I don't handle it by running away."

"I know that now."

"Good," she said. Once she'd patched up his wound, she helped him to his feet. "Let's get you to bed, Wolfman."

But the full moon brings out more than just wolves and zombies. In its eerie rays, the faces of things hidden are often revealed.

The paparazzo that had been hanging around the front of the house to snag another interview with Oswin has caught sight of a pulsing blue light around the trunk of the willow tree. When she stepped closer to investigate, Jackie appeared, her fury so palpable that the paparazzo was scared near-death as Jackie passed through her.

It had been a few years since the ghost of Jackie had stepped through the doors of Luther's home. But when she returned that night, her glow was brightened by her anger.

"Luther!" she cried as she glided through the house. "Luther, get out here!" When no one answered her, she crossed through the wall of the  bathroom and shook the shower off its foundation. "Luther!" She sobbed into the pipes.

"What is all this racket about?" Solanine cooed from the doorway.

Jackie released the shower with a bang. "Who are you?" She demanded. "My husband's new tart?"

"Oh, no, Dear. I'm his mother."

Jackie seemed to deflate just a bit. "His mother?"

"Yes, and I can understand how frustrating this must all be for you. Come talk with your mummy-in-law and we'll see if we can't make this all better," she purred gently as she led Jackie away from the bathroom.

WOW! That was epic. I wonder what Solanine will do to Jackie though....

My prediction:  Jackie is somehow going to end up being Solanine's ghostly-puppet-servant-thing.

Welcome aboard, Dex! I try and pack around similar amounts of epic into a post. Sometimes, it takes me 25 pictures. This one took me around 6!  ;)

Ghostly-puppet-servant-thing. I like how that sounds. Really rolls right off the tongue.

I've actually been reading this from the beginning. :-[ Though I left a comment already, or I would have left one sooner.
Though I do have a question, is Leo and/or the second kid whose name I can't remember a werewolf?

The angels have the phone box!

I want to be British so, so badly.

Well, then! I thank you for your readership! And, nope! Leo and Oblique are both wolf-free!

Thanks for understanding me  :=)  And, technically, that would have been David Tenant, so Scottish, not British.
